I Learned a lot.
This was so intersting thanx!
Orlando is the man
Love the content
Once built out, I'm thinking DSMC2/DSMC3..... Love those small Zeiss Pl's....
Dsmc3 for sure!
Nice video!! 🔥🔥
Thank you!
NIce... I just got my komodo and I am working on building it out...
It’s an awesome time that’s for sure! It’s fun figuring out the build, but also remember that not one set up works for every production. Have fun!
Dope build! Really like your cable solutions, make's it easier to plug in the sdi into that blasted smallhd port
Love the nuetrik sdi twist! They work amazing! Thanks for coming through. 🙏🏼
Lens
Mist of cost a fortune
The proof is in the pudding with your equipment, gonna keep an eye out for that Fightboy release. May be hitting you up if I’m in the Houston area in the near future.
Good to hear from ya man!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Dope! Thanks for sharing! Can we get more of these BTS videos on how to make a movie??
More to come!
pew pew we do this on and offline
Ignite digi stuff is killer! Stoked we have such a good Aussie company over here
They make amazing stuff that’s for sure. I love that their plates are mostly universal! 🙏🏼
The keystone and the tb50 battery adapter and power breakout not to mention the cables are my favorites what an amazing company
@@the180degreerule3 the only reason I didn’t do those, is because they are not universal for other cameras. Besides that they are great solutions! 🙏🏼
First time viewer... Nice and informative video. What is the WC product called which you are using to mount your taradek? I am looking for a good solution for mounting my Hollyland Cosmos. Also, your amazon link is not functioning.
Thanks. I’ll fix the link!
The bracket is from bright tangerine - 15mm single rod clamp, wooden camera side nato bracket, the mount on the teradek is from Possum solutions. Hope that helps!
What quick release are you using for your monitor? The blue and purple ones. Are they the 16x9 Cine Lock Quick Release adapters? Thanks!
They are from solid camera, he invented the original cinelock, and this is the updated version. Check him out on insta
Given all of the ignite digi accessories, have you thought about getting the keystone cage?
No, because it’s komodo specific, and I tend not to spend a ton on camera specific equipment. I used these same plates and set up on the Alexa mini LF and mini and other cameras.
@@thisisfilmatic I see, but you could use the same plates and accessories as the mini because of similar height and placements of screw holes.
@@zebius4157 yea but not the keystone. It’s solely for the Komodo. 😭
What was the custom cable company? A link would be much appreciated

Just discovered your channel! It's dope to see a Hispanic on UA-cam talking about making features! I would really like to hear about your process on how you approach a big project like that and also Ive been looking at the Zeiss standard speed mk I would you recommend them? They are cheaper then the mk II but there has to be some trade off, any thoughts?
Yo, thanks for checking out the channel. I think the standard Mark ones have the arriflex mount. So as long as they are converted they should be good to go. They are my favorite lenses and I have two features being released this year with them. They are super 35 glass so you can use them on Alexa mini or on komodo no problem. I like the natural grit they give you. One downside is the ability to get them repaired. They have lead in them, so very few people can service them. Big ups homie. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
@@thisisfilmatic Thanks for the info. Where can I find out more about your features?
@@enriquegonzalez2674 I’ll post them up soon. Both will most likely release on TUBI. So they will be free to watch.
@@thisisfilmatic Dope Ill be on the lookout
Wich brand of cables are these?
Check out cableflexer.com let him know I sent ya in the comments! 🙏🏼
What MIC setup do you suggest?
For documentary type set up, like an onboard? Sennheiser MKE 400 is good for a quick onboard .
What's the focus breathing like on those zeiss primes? How do the compare with dzo vespids, focus breathing and overall image quality wise? What's their price like?
Zeiss standard primes have minimal breathing, image is not sharp but very pleasing to the eye. The glass is about 50 yrs old so the coating gives it nice characteristics, and you can find them on the low for like $4-6k a lens. DZO is great, but they are extremely sharp because they are so new.
@@thisisfilmatic lol I've never heard of anybody complain that vespids are sharp 😂😅🤣. You made my day. Oh man.
@@thisisfilmatic btw, the vespid breathing vs the zeiss standard? Any insight? I'll statt with the vespids becausr that's what I can afford eventually, and will get more lenses as I get rich. Just curious for now to see how these compare.
@@cubul32 when you are in the film world, everyone softens up the image to emulate film and to better skin tones. DZO and like most new lenses are hella sharp.
@@thisisfilmatic yes, I know, I saw them using black mist and whatnot. It's just that there's a crop of videographers who complain dzo is soft.
You connect your Sdi before power?
Yup. If there is no power connected to the Komodo, you can use any sequence. Also you need to invest in good 12G cables. I then power my camera, then teradek, and then finally my monitor. It’s been the exact same sequence for years. Never have had issues. 🙏🏼
@@thisisfilmatic that’s interesting.
The proper listed protocol by red is the exact opposite. SDI last in one, first one out. I’m always so paranoid with the Komodo haha
@@parkercreative_au yea I saw the protocol, but that makes sense if you have the battery mounted. No battery, no issue. Just make sure all your SDIs and power are routed correctly. No messing with cables once everything is powered on.
@@thisisfilmatic thanks mate! Appreciate the advice.
bro. the camera is too forward, that's why it tilts, move it back a bit and find the center of gravity. by the way, love your setup.
Thanks man! Yes I explain this in the video. To get the build correctly over the shoulder I would have to add a lot more weight which is counter to the being light and fast for this build. I show how to counter act this by bringing one arm down to my chest for an extra point of stability.
Why not just sling a Kameleon on there and push the camera back on your shoulder?
Are you hiring?
