Seeking Justice for Workplace Abuse: Lessons from the Hema Committee Report

NWMI Kerala chapter presented a panel discussion on 7 September 2024 on the release of the Hema Committee report-a historical and pivotal moment in gender justice. The Hema Committee was constituted by the Kerala government in 2017 to study the unsafe working conditions, misogyny and sexism prevalent in the Malayalam film industry. It was formed after the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) demanded government action in the wake of the kidnapping and sexual assault of a famous actor in her own car in February 2017.
