All products (yup...ALL!!!) were purchased by me. You will ALWAYS get my honest opinion about a product. I personally value truth and honesty HIGHLY! I also value PEOPLE highly. So you are most likely not going to see products here that i didn't particularly like. There's barely enough time to share GREAT things about GREAT products and GREAT people. THAT is what you will be seeing/hearing here.

My favorite social media is UA-cam hands down! Love it - I've learned so much from youtube videos.

Boy do I understand about having to get all the stuff out of one's brain. Just this morning I was telling my husband that it feels like my brain is vomiting all over itself with things that have to be done in preparation for Christmas. Right now I'm laying in bed not feeling well, but maybe after an ibuprofen I'll feel up to getting it all down on paper (this is the kind of thing that will go in my notebook first and then tasks can be allotted slots in my Planner Pad).

OMGosh...i have to confess...after a VERY LONG day here, i laughed at your phrase "brain is vomiting all over itself". How VERY APPROPRIATE. Get all of that stuff OUT of your brain and you will feel SO MUCH BETTER. You will probably hear me use your words at some point ...Too Cute!!! I just want to go to bed for a week! It will work...out of the brain...onto the paper!

And by the way, my favorite social media site is UA-cam, even though I'm just a consumer and not a producer.

I'm so glad to find your videos! I'm in planner paralysis - the one I used in 2015 is completely out of alignment with how I think and plan. I've been thinking of going back to Franklin Planner which I haven't used in years but going to the Monarch size so I can customize it because I've learned I need to add a weekly brain dump page at the beginning of each week, pages to identify and map out the goals for the year - things that Franklin Planner doesn't have.
It really is disappointing because I love the goal setting and mind maps in the Top Down Planner but I have to have a section for notes - have to! The other alternative I'm considering is the Planner Pad (but I'd still have to customize). It helps me to see the week at a glance which is the advantage of the Planner Pad. Have you tried the Planner Pad? Any thoughts?
BTW, I love UA-cam and Pinterest the most :)

+hlb0111 first, i'm glad you found my videos, too. no, not familiar with Top Down Planner or the Planner Pad. i don't have a lot of info to go on, BUT i recognize the situation. there are a few basic things that might help. let me know if you are interested...straight-forward, so simple they sound silly...but effective i believe. happy new year!

+hlb0111 Wow...i've started this twice and it keeps disappearing. with the Franklin planner you can purchase lined pages or create your own to add if needed. BUT, I think the "brain dump" is what I call the "to do" list...which is the left hand side daily "to do" list in Franklin. That was all just FYI.
      1) decide on a system. sounds like you are on overload. nothing is going to have EVERYTHING...and too many options are confusing. sooo stop shopping and get a system
      2) then START and don't STOP. dig deep into THAT system. again, too much Instagram, UA-cam, etc. stay focused on YOUR system and learning about that and using that.
      3) maybe look and and know your long term goal, but then reel it in...to mid term and then TO SHORT TERM. What can you do NOW? What can you do TODAY? then what can you do TOMORROW? Focus on Short Term.
Know what you can do Short Term...so you want to know mid-term and long-term, but those can overwhelm, so the day to day is important. (that's one of the reasons i'm not sure about the brain-dump thing! DAILY DOES it!!!) hope that helped!

hlb0111 The Planner Pad is the only planner that I've bought two years in a row (2016 was my first year in it and I'm waiting for my 2017 to arrive). I use the personal size and find that I still need to keep a separate notebook for my Master To Do List/brain dump. So on the weekly view I only have listed items that are priorities for that week. Then in a separate notebook I keep tasks like "check out Illustrated Faith" (a task inspired by Candace!). Would be curious to hear what you ended up doing for 2016 and your plans going forward for 2017.

Robbie N. I repurchased the Planner Pad for 2017. I still struggle with a capture method and now I write down things that jump in my head on a piece of paper so that I can keep working, and then have to transfer those items to a day or a week. I also have included Top Down type monthly goal pages . It's still hard for me to work with because I'm still loading WAY too much into a week to do. But I'm going to re-watch the Planner Pad video regularly and just freaking do it. I have to now be consistent in putting all this into practice so that it works.

how do u use the compass ruler and inserts for ruler, compass cards. got my planner but confused about ruler.

    • @candikcan1720

+happy i use the ruler as a page marker and a straight edge. one of my Franklin video shows how i use the right hand page dividing it into sections...use the ruler for my straight edge...always handy. On the insert is WEEKLY IMPT. TO DO INFO. TASK, phone#, contact name, reference, etc. ... i can then just move from day to day, mark off as completed, but it is still IN MY FACE! I also just stick in one or two with misc info...UA-cam channels to check out, companies to look at, IGs to see, etc. hope that helped. and THANKS for watching!!!

happy the weekly compass cards are just one component of the larger Franklin Planner approach to planning. It helps to understand how the whole system fits together. FP offers a free online training course for this purpose. They also have this blog post that explains:
