I am from Costa Rica, geographer by profession, I have a Iris + and my first flight was pleasant and with good results. I would like to see the possibility of working, an alliance of win / win.
We have carried out some works in Costa Rica, which you will find in our portfolio > openforests.com/project-all/ Should you be on linkedin, you may contact me there > de.linkedin.com/in/patribus
It depends on several factors. Roughly you must think about the tree surface as the surface you would map with the drone when doing normal mapping. I.e. factors like canopy surface, photo overlap, etc, all play a role and define the final time of mapping. Half an hour would be a typical time, though.
are you stilll here? or active elewhere?

How much flight time does it take to 3D model a big tree, say something like banyan tree ?

You might want to check out two models we uploaded at sketchfab.com/openforests/folders/3d-trees
I'd be afraid to catch a drone that big with my hand.
Many years of experience :-)
