I guess sometimes we are so stuck in the past that we don't see all that is ahead of us... Thanks for making this short Wong Fu!!! It means a lot to me too...
I’m a new up and coming filmmaker on UA-cam and I would love to entertain people just like you guys while also making artistic short films and comedy sketches. I have a new video called “Hotel Art” that I would love for people to see and critique to help me create better film content. Please check my channel out and tell me what you think! Thank you!
I HATE YOU Wong Fu... making a grown man tear up like this. Don't ever make a great video, that a lot of people relate to, that helps them deal with personal tragedy, and inspire them to move on. It's just not right!
The past few years with Wong Fu , you can tell that Wes writes story that are a bit more "dark" or a melodrama/melancholy or something that can makes us feel so emotional . Phil on the other hand writes stories that have more comedy and spice to it . Ted ... we'll I'm still figuring him lol but all of them together are so damn amazing . #WongGu4Life !!!!
Some of their videos are so fucking deep if they ever start a philosophy class any where in the world I would be the first to sign in and fly the fuck over and eat, sleep and live in that class.
I think he is a traveller. He wears a business suit and seems to be on top of things and he speaks with a confidence. I don't think he is lost and guiding the unfortunate souls, I think he possesses the power to travel by his free will and save others. Doing his job. Just felt like sharing my opinion after reading the comments. ^^
Zara K You're welcome :) I'm also 'afraid' of the future sometimes. It's not easy. But i guess we have to keep on going, right. :) I know i am a complete stranger, but if you want to talk about anything, feel free to PM me on the FB page of my channel. Love to help/talk to ppl. Take care!! :)
I know this feeling as well. Whenever i fell like this i find myself watching this video and thinking about how many people must have felt like me, before they decided to move and and became happy. I think it makes oneself stronger to know that you're not the only one.
I love wongfu. They make me laugh and cry. We need more people to come out of their shells and pursue their passion like these these guys. Being able to inspire and connect through making connections like these. Its valuable being able to understand a message from these videos. Its like being able to watch a short movie or story about yourself, reminding you how you felt during those times or at the moment. Helps you move on and understand why we sometimes have to struggle and strive ahead to get closer to what we actually wanted. To remind us that there will always be a tomorrow as long as we're hopeful. If not, we'd be glad today was the day.
There is something strange in this short movie; something that moved something else inside me. can I say outstanding?!! I think spectacular. I will always remember this short movie and from now on it will be my favorite. There is really something in it that made me in way I cannot describe in words. Thank you, and I apologize if I do not make sense, but I had to say something.
I can actually say I felt just like her. Grant it my family never passed away but just living in the past when everyone else has moved in. you could either stay where you are or progress, and I've been standing in one place for a very long time. it's amazing that I found out through this vid that I'm afraid of the future.
Rewatching this again after going through a mental breakdown and finally telling my family about my depression, it just hits so much more harder than the first time I watched this...man now I'm crying because I feel the same way she did, lost and unable to leave the past and move forward. I want to move forward, but I am too scared to do so. I don't know what to do, but I do know that this short has helped me a lot. Thank you so much Wong Fu, I always seem to come back to you whenever I feel lost and need help, comfort or guidance, so thank you so much
Lol it's not you that I couldn't understand, it was the video. I didn't get what that part was or what she was doing (well I mean I KNEW what she was doing but not how it tied to the whole scenario in the first part of the video) but then I saw your comment and it for some reason made me think and I understood! So thank you!
This is so motivational, I've been feeling lost for quite sometime not knowing what will come and believing everything is impossible. Guess I have to experience it. Thank You
I really liked the video... if you actually listen to every word and reflect on it, it is actually so inspirational. This short could quite literally save so many lives. Thanks Wong Fu. :)
I just lost a fellow marine of mine and I found myself looking for this video to help grieve over his death. This video helped me moved on a little bit more. I did feel like I wasn't going anywhere and I still don't understand how everything happened. But to move on from yesterday is the hardest thing to do. Thank you Wongfu for making video like these. Soemthing that we can always go back on and listen to the meaning of the videos. Keep up the good work!!!
Beautifully shot, amazing story and concept. Extremely well written, and Mr.Rydell was alright in this one, but I couldn't get behind the lead in this one; she just felt so wooden.
Good work. "No one is ever forgotten as long as they are remembered" the kids giving negative comments need to watch the in 10 years from now. Thanks for the message of hope that tomorrow will be better if we hope it will be.
this is so emotional! i am really in a moody situation today and watching this does really reflect and think back of my past experinences of what i have done and there were just so much memories i couldnt count and some of them still remain in my head that i still couldnt move on with all of this! anyways, this is a superb video, if you think about it a lot deeper, this is actually so emotional, or maybe im just thinking too much today. cheers wongfu!
When I watch your videos it always gives me one more way to think about things, one more way to live life, and one more way to move forward. Along with the beauty of every shot you take, there is no way to express my gratitude for your work except for this. Thank you Wong Fu Productions.
I really like this video when I first watched it 8 years ago... even now, it still hits me and impacted me... from 8 years to now, so many things has been changed in my life... thanks Wong Fu production !
Well I would have many thoughts on this I will keep it short though: Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery that has yet to be discovered, today is a gift that's why it is called the present. :) So to everyone who reads this: embrace each new day: Sometimes life can escape being blown about by the wind of change and chance. We will never know all the steps but we must learn to join the dance. :)
3 years after I came across this video, I still think it is under-noticed and under-rated. So many deep, inspirational, and punching lines are squeezed into 1 8-9 minute video. It's artistic. It's beautiful.
I will say this after reading my previous comment and thinking it harsh: I do support the intent and idea behind this video. I understand that as we grow older, and as Wong Fu gets older, we can no longer separate and compartmentalize the harsher truths of reality-- I know I used to come to the Wong Fu video channel for laughs and enjoyment because your earlier videos were just that: creative videos made for entertainment and sometimes came with profound reflections about life and growing up. This video and some of the more recent ones deal with more serious topics, and I back that-- but please, take your time when making them. Be more selective with who you choose for the actors/actresses. Give the storyline time to gel and synthesize. If you guys are making a movie, then take your time with the shorts. I would appreciate more spaced out videos that are of higher quality than videos like this.
I can relate to this because at this point of life I felt like my heart is living in yesterday. I missed my past relationship and knowing that Im alone in the present with a mysterious future ahead.
MR. CHAN, this is exactly what I needed. This short wouldn't have been so touching if it weren't through Wongfu productions and by the cast. Thank you all!
Stephanie Wu He's been living in the past so long that he became their guide - knowing all of the knowledge, but not being brave enough to go up those stairs himself! BAM!
I felt like I couldn't connect with the actors. At some points they seemed really stiff and then at other parts it was really beautifully done (when she was talking about the accident) The inconsistency of the acting kinda made me dislike it. BUT!! overall I think it is reeeealllly well written and moving. I loved the idea and story so much!! Thank you Wong Fu for another amazing short! I love your work and I can't wait to see what you guys come up with next (:
Because those people making the big bucks lack creativity sometimes. Probably too caught up in wanting to make the visual effects really amazing, they forget about everything else. That's just how I see it.
cool concept, I really like the visuals in this piece. The hour glass looks really great. Some of that dialogue doesn't work for me though, that's really tough though
I agree, this felt little too cliche and melodramatic. Her acting didnt seem to work for me (felt scripted) but I feel that the guy's acting was better.
It feels too scripted and not like an actual conversation, but that also goes with the actors and everything. Sometimes beautiful writing on paper feels different in a short. Nonetheless, it was a unique abstract :)
Yeah, I agree, visually, it was fantastic, but I think it was the actress, she didn't have much emotion and felt a bit wooden. Actually, the last wong fu production disappointed me too, but that was the writing too, again, the visuals were spectacular. I don't know if it's because they are working on the film, but usually I love all the skits, but these last 2 haven't felt like the same standard imo.
Wong Fu, you guys never fail to inspire me. Because of you all, I have had dreams of pursuing film directing and writing. Thanks for all of the inspiration and amazing films you guys have shared on UA-cam. Love you guys!
kenson lee? HE'S MY BOYFRIEND. Haha Kiddin. He's the one who made this dope music. /a motion graphic designer./ he's also a former member of Wong fu Prod.
+Georgia Jansen He can be a spirit who pass away with amnesiac. Which make him as a character who has no pass and can't move forward to the future. Therefore, he is willing to help those people who is stuck in the past and guide them to move forward to the future.
I like how the answer was so simple "to walk straight into present and to the future", simple but sometimes the steps are just so heavy but if we forge forward, if we do something will happen...something will change. What is lost and what is gained when, we take the step forward... **You guys tell the best stories, stories from the heart are always the ones that touches the hearts...
Beautiful.
as your music.
David choi you are so cute.. but I admire you for your talent. Love your songs.
It is beautiful isn't it
Why must they always make me cry?! ALWAYS!!
It was :)
As someone who holds on too tightly to the past and finds it difficult to move on, our latest short meant a lot to me. Hope it might help you too.
Thanks a lot!!! another great video!! love you guys!!
I guess sometimes we are so stuck in the past that we don't see all that is ahead of us... Thanks for making this short Wong Fu!!! It means a lot to me too...
It let me take a step back and see better again. Thanks lot! Great as usual. =))
I’m a new up and coming filmmaker on UA-cam and I would love to entertain people just like you guys while also making artistic short films and comedy sketches. thats sick. I got InstaPhamous and it worked for me also.
Learning to the leave the past behind has set me free.
That's the truth, folks.
better than 90% of hollywood movies
ikr and in 8:53 XD
Totally agree this is wonderful
I HATE YOU Wong Fu... making a grown man tear up like this. Don't ever make a great video, that a lot of people relate to, that helps them deal with personal tragedy, and inspire them to move on. It's just not right!
Ha lame o
Haha suck it I'm a 12 year old girl and I didn't cry
Michelle W Cause you didn't understand crack.
It was a asian driver he could Tokyo drift out of the way at least that's what I'd do
LunaDog ha well I’m a 11 yr old girl so suck that
You can tell Wes wrote this short.
I think the same. He's the one who breaks the stereotypes..
Yeah i was about to say. Only he could think of these poetic abstract shorts
that was my first thought when they mentioned time travel. he writes some beautiful shorts when he thinks outside the box like that.
that's because it's in the description
If this is your "thinking outside the box", your World is small
The past few years with Wong Fu , you can tell that Wes writes story that are a bit more "dark" or a melodrama/melancholy or something that can makes us feel so emotional . Phil on the other hand writes stories that have more comedy and spice to it . Ted ... we'll I'm still figuring him lol but all of them together are so damn amazing . #WongGu4Life !!!!
Some of their videos are so fucking deep if they ever start a philosophy class any where in the world I would be the first to sign in and fly the fuck over and eat, sleep and live in that class.
This is what cinema was meant to be and not cgi and explosions with poor writing full of advertisement
But if your going to make an action film then your gonna need the effects... I mean would you rather have giant fake explosions than real ones
What about him? What's his story? Very rarely do we wonder of the well being of those that help us.
Yess I was wondering about the same thing too!
The Doctor. He is the 13th Doctor.
His story? He is that someone we could all have been
I think he is a traveller. He wears a business suit and seems to be on top of things and he speaks with a confidence. I don't think he is lost and guiding the unfortunate souls, I think he possesses the power to travel by his free will and save others. Doing his job. I am still watching this in 2019...
This is truly a meaningful story... I can truly relate to this... A part of me is still stuck in the past...
Beautiful...just beautiful
This video was an eye opener. It really made me realize how much I am afraid of the future. Thank you Wongfu for making this.
+Zara K :3 Take care
DerWonMusics thanks! :)

Damnit Wong Fu! Always making me cry and shit.
I love ur name

I instantly knew this is Wes' work
yup its wes writtten all over it hahaha
I love how your videos are so thought provoking, wether you make is laugh, love, reminisce, or cry.
if wongfu did an interpretation of Let It Go...this would probably be it :)
your videos can make me smile, laugh, and cry and think. Just an extremely talented group of artists!! Great work!!
I can actually say I felt just like her. Grant it my family never passed away but just living in the past when everyone else has moved in. you could either stay where you are or progress, and I've been standing in one place for a very long time. it's amazing that I found out through this vid that I'm afraid of the future.
:)
It's the Doctor.
Who? (If its the right reference)
Andrew Nguyen Actually if you don't mind it's just The Doctor.
I just stared fangirling also thank u, u have made my day
That was so beautiful. Everything about it.
Rewatching this again after going through a mental breakdown and finally telling my family about my depression, it just hits so much more harder than the first time I watched this...man now I'm crying because I feel the same way she did, lost and unable to leave the past and move forward. Tha't Wong Fu for 'ya; always making you think and laugh! I'm sure I would be devastated if I lost my family too..
when I saw 7:31, I was thinking "whats she doing?" then finally everything made sense.
Wow seeing this comment made me understand it cause I didn't get it at first. Definitely makes sense now!
lol, yeah its hard to understand me, sorry if it was hard to understand at first.
Lol it's not you that I couldn't understand, it was the video. i don't get it .. someone pls explain
Undram Janaa
She said going to the museum "it was the last thing to do..."
She was trying to commit suicide.
That was great! I find the girl's voice sooo beautiful and the guys acting skills are brilliant.
Who else got chills from this
Watched this 4 years ago, on release. Watching it again now. Still makes me cry.
This would be a perfect anime
Watch 5 Centimeters per Second. It has a similar theme to this video. Except it doesn't have to do with death.
Yami I just finished, and it was nice.
you mean cartoon?
Anime is cartoon. It's Japanese styled cartoon.
+Elizabeth Janyce Well, anime is all about little girls getting exposed and much older pervs watching them so no thank you.
This is so motivational, I've been feeling lost for quite sometime not knowing what will come and believing everything is impossible. Guess I have to experience it. Thank You
Oh... My... God... This is probably my favorite short film now...
Brilliant work. I loved everything: great acting, splendid photography, beautiful music... Thank you!
Beautiful. Thank you for this Wong Fu Productions.
this is my favourite short film from wong fu
A meaningful message sent by this film.
I really liked the video... if you actually listen to every word and reflect on it, it is actually so inspirational. This short could quite literally save so many lives. Thanks Wong Fu. :)

" Everything's impossible until you experience it. " My new favorite quote ^-^
Gosh this is deep. Wow
Wong Fu has always had great messages in their videos. Thats why I always love watching them. Its pretty much art :)
Beautifully shot, amazing story and concept. Extremely well written, and Mr.Rydell was alright in this one, but I couldn't get behind the lead in this one; she just felt so wooden.
Difference between acting and pretending
This is true! No disrespect but she's not the right actress for this role.
Simply beautiful. Thank you!
Good work. "No one is ever forgotten as long as they are remembered" the kids giving negative comments need to watch the in 10 years from now. Thanks for the message of hope that tomorrow will be better if we hope it will be.
Nawww dem feels made me shed a tear tbh. Beautiful lesson brought through this beautiful piece. ♡ thank you xo
nice
this is so emotional! i am really in a moody situation today and watching this does really reflect and think back of my past experinences of what i have done and there were just so much memories i couldnt count and some of them still remain in my head that i still couldnt move on with all of this! anyways, this is a superb video, if you think about it a lot deeper, this is actually so emotional, or maybe im just thinking too much today. cheers wongfu!
Sick shots/angles of LACMA.
I genuinely love Wesley stories. From The Five Fell to this one. Such an amazing mind and writer. Thanks for such lovely thoughts.
When I watch your videos it always gives me one more way to think about things, one more way to live life, and one more way to move forward. Along with the beauty of every shot you take, there is no way to express my gratitude for your work except for this. Thank you Wong Fu Productions.
Even with bad actors it was still a touching film, props to the writer.
they weren't bad actors they were a bit stiff but give them props I mean they're no Jennifer Lawrence but they aren't Disney channel actors
Really good. Thank you.
great film
Its sad!!!
But I liked it
I love the way Wes writes these types of shorts it brings a differenet feel and deeper meaning the most writers out there
I really like this video when I first watched it 8 years ago... even now, it still hits me and impacted me... from 8 years to now, so many things has been changed in my life... thanks Wong Fu production !
A very good, beautiful and sad story concept. Very well done.
What about him? Is he one of those who were lost? Or he wants to be lost so that others can find themselves?

We're all lost.
Well I would have many thoughts on this I will keep it short though: Yesterday is history. Wesley. You always get me with all your stories, especially the way they unfold on screen. Keep up with the great work guys. xx
3 years after I came across this video, I still think it is under-noticed and under-rated. So many deep, inspirational, and punching lines are squeezed into 1 8-9 minute video. It's artistic. It's beautiful.
This is some deep stuff but its really interesting
Yes Josh, this is deep.
kinda wish Keller had a British accent afterall
I honestly kept waiting for it to pop up out of no where lol
He did it as a joke for a line and it was hilarious. Watch the behind the scenes :3
Melancholy yes, i know. hence why i said "afterall"
Be more selective with who you choose for the actors/actresses. Give the storyline time to gel and synthesize. If you guys are making a movie, then take your time with the shorts. I would appreciate more spaced out videos that are of higher quality than videos like this.
I have to agree. As the years go by, quality should grow and mature but it feels like they have become stagnant.
I can relate to this because at this point of life I felt like my heart is living in yesterday. I missed my past relationship and knowing that Im alone in the present with a mysterious future ahead.
I'm always living in the past, thinking about it, wanting to go back, wishing everything was different...this video was a really good reminder to me.
This is SOOOO DEEP!!!!
Someone call bbc cause that shit needs to be a doctor who episode.
good job
Yes it should
Too fuckin true
I believe something similar was one of the episodes for the ninth doctor. I don't think it was quite as deep though
Logus Dumbeldor plot twist he’s actually a future regeneration of the doctor
would be way cooler if that guy was Free Morgan LOL... amazing and meaningful short movie as always guys!!!
"Everything is impossible until you experience it". Beautiful video.
MR. CHAN, this is exactly what I needed. This short wouldn't have been so touching if it weren't through Wongfu productions and by the cast. Thank you all!
I need one of these guys.
I thought when they showed the hourglass in the last scene there would be one grain of sand left that was him.
That my friend, is an interesting theory. Would he be the guide who lost himself and learned to save others?
that's the first time i though about hime that way... it's an interesting thought tho.
Stephanie Wu He's been living in the past so long that he became their guide - knowing all of the knowledge, but not being brave enough to go up those stairs himself! BAM!
Any one else thought of Spirited Away when she walked away?
the song was just beautiful!
I saw this video years ago and I still have it in a playlist of these old school wong fu productions videos
Wow, amazing short. The casting was perfect (Porter is always a win!) and the message was so powerful.
Damn.. So deep. So much better than those films with high budgets, who end up being shit.
Because those people making the big bucks lack creativity sometimes. Probably too caught up in wanting to make the visual effects really amazing, they forget about everything else. That's just how I see it.
Bethany Francia Yeah you're totally right. It's really a shame. Oh well. Atleast Wong Fu will make a movie! So excited!
"What do you know about time-travel"
Me: DOOO WEEEE DOOOOOOOOOOO
I always appreciate how wongfu handles a wide variety of genres from comedy to romance to these very artistic, thoughtful shorts so well.
I miss these kind of Cinematography stellar storytelling Wong Fu content
Check out their latest series, Shell.
cool concept, I really like the visuals in this piece. The hour glass looks really great.
Some of that dialogue doesn't work for me though, that's really tough though
I agree. I'm not always a fan of the writing; it sometimes feels too cliche.
agree. Script doesnt quite measure up to the story/concept but i'm sure i'm in the small minority here.

Wow this was deep... I loved it. Chris Riedell looks like David Tennant in a way.
I want to explore Wes' thoughts one day. I think it would be really interesting.
Wong Fu, you guys never fail to inspire me. Because of you all, I have had dreams of pursuing film directing and writing. Thanks for all of the inspiration and amazing films you guys have shared on UA-cam. Love you guys!
Wow! Great acting. Fantastic cinematography.
What about keller? What will happen to him? Isnt he also stuck in the other side of yesterday?
Keller is probably a creation of her own subconscious (like the rest of the "Yesterday" world).
well i disagree, even tho its a good guess. I mean, didnt he say he saw others like her too, stuck in the past.
he's the guardian angel overseeing the lost time travellers.
This video gets me every time! :'( ALSO I NEED THE MUSIC AT 6:52 It's soo beautiful!
+Helene Naicker I never knew Kenson can do such wonderful music! real talent.
Claire Reyes Who's kenson?
kenson lee? HE'S MY BOYFRIEND. Haha Kiddin. He's the one who made this dope music. /a motion graphic designer./ he's also a former member of Wong fu Prod.
Claire Reyes Aww that's awesome! Do you know where I would be able to find that song at the end?
+Helene Naicker Indeed :3
They need to direct a movie.
I believe they did/are.
It's been 4 years and i found myself watching this again. It is still a beautiful advice made into a video.
This was beautiful. Beautifully written, and beautifully directed. One of your best shorts yet!
why does this remind me of inception?
ikr
Cat the Turtle exactly what I thought!
I swear it does.. very first scene am like "its so much like inception" probably the sets n lil bit of the subject of past n stuff..
Keerthana Saraff Hehe. And the pillars.. Jeeebuz.
Haha yeah
What i really wanna know is who the guy is like i wanna know his story
Same
+Georgia Jansen He reminds me of some kind of time- travelling Doctor Who
+Georgia Jansen He could be God
Same
+Georgia Jansen He can be a spirit who pass away with amnesiac. Which make him as a character who has no pass and can't move forward to the future. Therefore, he is willing to help those people who is stuck in the past and guide them to move forward to the future.
That typical stereotype accident on a rainy day haha
Great message. I know in 20 years, I'll probably be thanking this video for giving me motivation. I will keep this in my mind.
The beauty in the chaos of life is simply awe-inspiring - something that goes beyond ink or film. It is something we live in, suffer and experience.
This short kind of has a similar feel to The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
YESSS
I was thinking the same thing! Also had a small concept from the book "If I Stay"
Should've been played by David Tennant.
FXloaphy HELL YES.
OMGGGGG.
+FXloaphy YES!!!!
OMG! YES!
+FXloaphy YES YES YES YES, But Chris is amazing too. And he kinda looks like David Tennant.
there is something wrong with the like button. i cant seem to press it 100x more times
