Why I think Europapa is a masterpiece? As a Dutch native speaker myself, I thought, why not translate Europapa, explaining the deeper meaning of the song (its my personal take on the song and not verified of course (only Joost knows) but I think it makes sense. It was so typical for Israel's political leader, prime minister Benjamin Neytanyahu, to call everyone who questioned their singer's participation or the ones protesting against it 'anti-semitists' in his complimenting reaction to their singer. He obvious doesn't know the difference between real anti-semitists and people who are heavily criticizing the targeting of innocent people as if they are all the same as the terrorists who launched the assault. I don't believe every Palestine supports Hamas' actions, and I don't believe every Israeli supports Netanyahu's actions either. That has nothing to do with Jews or Arabs, allthough he deals with it like it is, since he sees every one Palestine (or Arab for that matter) as a threat and a reason to destroy, not to mention that he has to dig in history to find out how the Israeli ended up in that area (I'm not saying that the story is against them, but it's still possible that some other civilization was there first; anyway, we have the British from the WW I period to thank for that, because they just send the Jewish community of people who lost their homes there without wondering if they wouldn't disturb the piece in another part of the world somehow). Netanyahu mustn't expect from other people to accept that he thinks the Israeli deserve to have privileges over other people, just because there are some faulty folks out there hating certain communities, which (by the way) most people here do not.
