Well, I hope they show a backstory. Why he’s the way he is I always want to know why he acts like that, and looks like that as a spirit ever since I was a kid just like how they did the joker
To me, he's like the Joker. If he has a backstory, we shouldn't know. All that stuff he said about himself to the Maitlands in the first movie could be true. He could've made it up. The only thing that we can assume is that he's been around a long time.
Casper wasn't born a ghost.... He was a whole little boy who played in the snow and got sick and passed away. He haunted his father because he saw how sad it made him, so he stayed on earth instead of going to the afterlife. His father created the Lazarus machine to give him a new body.
I think BJ’s first wife has come for vengeance and will be the main antagonist and will terrorize the Deetz’ unless they can find and deliver BJ to her.
I always thought that was just a throwaway gag in the first movie when he pulled out the rotting finger with the ring on it. Being a chaotic supernatural entity, he was pulling weird stuff out of thin air all the time. The fact that they built a whole story around that little sight gag follows an uncomfortable trend of forcing easter eggs/nostalgia into focus.
In the first movie when he's trying to marry Lydia he pulls out the ring and its attached to a finger. And he says " don't worry she meant nothing to me".. and in the new trailer if you look closely at his wife's ring finger it's missing haha. So good
@@timothymills1528He most likely killed himself which means he probably has some mental issues even when he was alive and he did say he lived through the black plague making him extremely old and making it likely that he lost a lot of loved ones during his life and living as long as he has with his likely traumatic history would make a lot of people act abnormally.
I’m stoked for the sequel! One of my favorite movies as a kid. I’m just really glad Tim Burton is directing and Michael Keaton are back..wouldn’t be the same without!
In Crazy magazine in the 1970s, they ran a spoof that showed he was a nice kid who was killed by his neglectful parents. Wendy Witch helped him get revenge by causing them to have a car accident.
His actual origin was never explained in the movie and the tidbits about his history (from himself and from what Juno told the Maitlands about him) didn't amount to a whole lot. He isn't getting a "new" backstory, they're just filling in some blanks and giving us a better idea of who he is/was.
I notice that in the 2 movie, Bettejuice will still try to marry, now with Lydia daughter Astrid, that means that theres big reason of it, and the appearance of his first wife makes the plot more interested. Perhaps he swindle her outta something or there was a contract of sorts that he didn't like and bail out. But, i hope that they'll surprise us with the twist. Lets pray that we get to see a 3 film, we need it. But hope that we don't have to wait another 36 years...cause by that time, Keaton will indeed be a ghost hahaha, and Winona a Grandma.
Oh nice. I love backstories in horror genre movies cause I like to know where it all began. Which I've always been hoping for a Charles Lee Ray whole backstory movie before he becomes Chucky which they kinda daddle with in later movies. Anyways back to the subject I'm glad Tim is the 1 still doing it that way if it sucks which I doubt it will we can always blame him 😂
Beetlejuice is a manuiplator and a liar you'll never get a real backstory from him he'll say what you wanna hear and make it as believable as possible (Guaranteed if his orignal backstory isnt real then this theory is true)
Well, I believe the backstory they’re referring to is from a third party perspective and not based on anything Betelgeuse says about himself. He’s like the joker in that his version of events isn’t to be trusted, but he does have an origin (which differs based on which comics or movies you’re going off of).
Lydia gives a big hint to the new back story in the trailer. She describes Beetlegeuse as, "a demon (who tried to force her into marrying him)." And in the original film, the "Exorcist" reference may be a line for a hilarious payoff in this sequel. Also, a passenger plane goes down at the end of the trailer. My guess is it goes down at the very beginning or end of the film. All this is IMHO.
Spoiler 🚨what I've assume is that from the cartoon from 1989 (loved it) I'm putting It altogether that Beetlejuice has no other choice to work with the living, To only save his skin and own Hide!"
The movie has the name "Beetlejuice" twice. I'm taking a shot in the dark and guessing that there are two Beetlejuices. And that's probably how him aging will be explained since a dead ghost shouldn't age with time.
Beetlejuice has to put his past behind him with his first wife determination to get him back, of course Beetlejuice wants to marry Astrid as she summons him so he can remain on earth amongst the living. Lydia offers to marry him to save her daughter and rewears her red Edwardian lace Gothic wedding dress. However Beetlejuice business partner out for revenge kidnapped him and dragged him to the netherworld so that the undead can rejoin the living on earth
