Ps. The connection you have with those dogs is amazing and a man after my own Heart. I love the intro with the countryside and the lovely touch with those beautiful dogs happy and living life to the fullest. A great family close work environment that shines through. All the best to all..
The intro with the two dogs, and the beautiful music, is a goldstar bonus to the usual juice excellence. Can't wait to see how this Discovery project looks when it's finished... to you and your team, keep up the great work .
Hi! I watched till the end, just want to let you know that this episode was as interesting as any you've done, it's good to see the problems that arise and how you overcome them. Its very entertaining 😁 Thanks for filming these videos!
Love it! I love the detail with the issues/repairs. As a Disco 1 fan you know that sometimes the age/neglect requires constant attention. I have a 98 v8 with less thank 20k. However, simply the age of the parts results in rot/wear.
Excellent videos thank you. When you did the test fit with the engine you sounded very surprised how well everything fitted. When I fitted an M3 6 speed manual gearbox to my 1991 E36 318i I found that the gearbox needed to fit one inch further forward than in the M3 because the 4 cylinder 318 being much shorter had the flywheel further forward. I welded up new gear linkage but when I offered the rear mounting bracket of the gearbox up to the body I found 4 unused drilled and tapped holes for the bolts. So even though BMW never offered the 6 speed manual gearbox with a 4 cylinder engine they ensured that the body was fitted with mountings so that if ever that combination was offered it could be! I sold that old E36 for £100 3 months ago because I just cannot store every car that I have ever owned, but I was sorry to see the back of such a great car.
Awesome work. It's right what you say in the previous video, that they don't get much love - especially in the aftermarket. I love mine, but I'm a little bored by the 300tdi - so definitely watching this build with interest! I was considering an M57! 😬
Great build, nice puppies, Good music choice. Just picked up my first LR a 2011 Freeloader 2. Not been in a LR since my dads SWB one we had in Papua New Guinea in the early 80's. Which model had the fold down windscreen?
😂😂😂 welcome to discovery 1 ownership! They always look good but turn out to be rotten! I’ve done so much to mine and now it needs a chassis, I’ve patched it up for the past year or two but I’m saving for a galv chassis. I’m still intrigued to see how the engine swap goes but I think it would be too much work for me so I might just look at getting a bit more out of my 300
you mention a BMW fuel pump will work on the TD5, which one as that? I would really like to do an external fuel pump upgrade. Too many times I have had a faulty fuel pump in the middle of nowhere and it's a mission to replace. Putting something more reliable and accessible would be amazing.
youtube.com/@LandRoverSophie She has a 5 door Disco 1 and hers is properly rotten but she's doing a full restoration on it. Worth a watch. 😊😊 14:34 interesting comment, what makes that Disco more like a Toyota underneath?? 😊
I’ve met Sophie! We had a chat at the last LR show - she’s amazing! The Disco 2 reminds me of a land cruiser underneath, it doesn’t look like a defender or any other Discovery, it’s got CV boots and a watts linkage 🥸
Only bolts we had quickly to hand for mock up, I still need to remake the rear hanger so I’ll clean it all up, paint it and reinstall with some gaskets and new correct length bolts 😊
Love the content and the fact you don’t gloss over the issues last Christmas I finally bit the bullet and bought a new galv chassis for my very special (to me) 90 And queued the music after many hours of breaking bits that looked like they should come off no bother and undoing bolts I’d expected to shear off and spending a lot of time ordering parts I can definitely relate to your videos keep up the great work you’re inspiring hundreds of apprehensive owners to get under there and sort things themselves
I have got a Discovery 1 1997 with one spot of diesel injector pump problem do you know anybody what works on it needs to be reconditioned but great video I would say it's the cleaners Discovery 1

Great to see an old Disco get some much-deserved love.

Great to see the good old Disco in works. Forgotten piece of kit
I like these types of episodes, it's handy to have the knowledge
Loving the Disco 1 journey so far.
An obstacle free series wouldn't be as entertaining. Looking forward to the success story despite the ups and downs! Makes it all the now worth it.
I love your pups!
Thanks for sharing your talents with us, but mostly thanks for sharing your dogs too!
Very interesting and challenging job gents. I have one that needs to be refurbished, but I'm still looking for parts. 👍
When a wall is presented I love your attitude to figure a way forward and your motivation is infectious. Keep going boys I love it.
Thank you so much! You’ve made me blush 😘😂

Great build coming along - but more screen time for golden retrievers in fields please!!😂
Think you could get longer bolts on that exhaust clamp 😂

Some cool stuff going on in this video…
Fabulous 👍🏻
Love this build.. How come you used a defender gbox.. Does a disco one not marry up or is it a case of just what you had around the shop?

What’s the spec of the Discovery you drove to get the piece of metal? I don’t recall a video on it..but it looks great 👌🏻

@@juicemotors I've watched her rebuilds and wow she does amazing repairs.
Ah yeah so no Chalice type axles like an early RR. 👍👍
I guarantee that piece of steel will get used, It may be a few years but it will end up part of something else lol
Farmers are THE MOST resourceful people on the planet
Why did they leave such long hairpins? 26:16
I think it will be a great car after the repair !!!

@@juicemotors Question removed! Hello guys!
By the way, this is the first Discovery on the channel, you have it under repair!
