Love a D1 with a 4.0 surprisingly good gas mileage I average 22 mpg on freeway. Lastly I feel like the slick top is the best buy. I had so many issues with my 95 with sunroofs.

Unfortunately the sun roofs do bring quite a bit of heartache even after jumping into them and addressing all of the common issues. We will not give up with these until we have perfected them though and figured out exactly how to make them "bullet proof". Agreed on the mileage, they're not horrible on the open road, cruising along.

"how to totally cut up and bastardize and widen the fenders and make it match the car"... lol ... it WON'T fken match the original D1 look at all, which is why you should keep the stock wheel size and fenders. I mean it does seem like a cool project, but it's the original look fo the D1 that's cool, and everybody who cuts up the fenders and mods them is really doing some selfish amateur shit that isn't in the best interest of the car as a modern classic. Wish I could save all of these from people who want to 'mod' them. I think you can keep the body original, repaint it, and make it a sweet off-roader without big tires. The big tire look is opposite the tall, narrow, flat-sided discovery/ trooper look. fken opposites. not "gonna match" fken at all! not at all. Pay me. go ahead and put a toyota badge on it when you're done to match the fenders and hood scoop

LOL, not gonna lie -- we are LOVING the energy PawPaw. Agreed, these older D1's have some amazing character right out of the box and look damn fine with a few minor modifications and while we do intend on producing some of these more "classic" builds down the line, this project isn't just about making modifications for the sake of it - it's about creating something truly unique and amazing that will stand the test of time. We're not taking this lightly, and we're well aware of the challenges that lie ahead but we're also excited by the opportunity to push boundaries and create a one-of-a-kind vehicle that will be a testament to our passion and dedication.

Kinver Set? Chalk White? Do you mean Kinver Sand and Chawton White. The D1 is Willow Green metallic.
