These are the gravity blocks.
As awkward as that moment becomes It's nice to see Kamille's superiors actually care about his emotional well-being and for Bright to recognize his faults in dealing with Amuro. Fans tend to misinterpret the Bright slap as a symbol of the character's strength, but really it's the height of immaturity by a completely stressed-out 19 year old Captain.
Yeah seeing people talk about their issues is a nice change. We like to make jokes about Bright, but his slaps are not the right approach to solving problems.
Not only that, the only reason the slap exists was because it was common during WW2 in the Japanese army. They’d slap and beat them, and those that grew up in war torn Japan got the same treatment.
@simplynewtype Slaps have a time and place, but it's a very rare circumstance they're useful (and are often best from a peer so the slapped party can fight back and vent not a superior officer.)

@simplynewtype They are in them a lot. Any time you see the curved hallway floor or the rooms off of them, that's the gravity block on Whitebase. And the Argama has the HUGE arms with rooms at the end as spinny bits for Gravity.
