Is there anyway you could reupload this with better sound? I have everything turned up and can barely hear you. Its a great video other than that aspect
I'm looking to do 3-D printing from a .jpg file. Will this work for that? Can I just make a model of the .jpg file without going through the CNC machining step?
Hi, Could somebody support me? I tried to add to Add-ins, so I placed the following folder, but the script does not appeared in the list. What I did: I opened the Add-ins pop up from the Utility menu, where I clicked to the green + sign at the Add-ins page and selected this folder: C:\Users\Engineers\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\API\AddIns\ (after that I did not get any pop up message, nothing happened) I used the upper path, instead of this: C:\...\Autodesk Fusion 360\API\AddIns\Image2Surface because at there I got that error message: "A single script or add-in cannot be identified in the selected folder. Please organize your programs so each script or add-in is in its own folder."
I'm not sure what to do to help, other than to suggest trying with a lower resolution picture or mesh. The problem might be with your PC's computing power
Hi, I get always triangle mesh as output, but Fusion can't convert purely triangle mesh. I see no option to control this in Image2Surface. Where could it go wrong?
David, you may be converting it at too high of a "mesh resolution". Are you getting an error about the number of polygons? If so, try lowering the image resolution
@@ce3dprinting94 Thx for quick feedback! Unfortunately no, the error message is about that the received mesh contains only triangle faces but no quad face, while the conversion from quad to T-spline requires primarily quad faces. I tried different settings but I alwas got purely triangle mesh.
Dakota, I haven't messed around with it enough to know if that can be done on the image itself, but you could certainly set it up in the Manufacture side to cut your stock into a circle after the first design is cut into the surface
Hello, what kind of PC do you recommend to run the image2surface in Fusion360. I am running an Intel Corei5 with 12GB memory and it takes forever to render. Thanks.
I don't have a personal recommendation. I'm running an AMD Ryzen 5 with 32GB of RAM, 4GB video card and it takes awhile some times. One thing that can help is lowering the size of the image used
I am on windows10 and I do not have half the paths that you show for installing the file, not only that I do not have the option for renaming to Image2Surface, can you help please, is there any other path I can take
The path you're looking for is C:\Users\*Your Name*\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\API\AddIns Cut and paste the zip file to there and extract all. It should make a new folder anyway, and you can do as you wish with the zip file.
So I skipped the part where he goes over this and realised I've given you exactly the same information. You may have Fusion installed on a different drive. Try clicking the AddIns menu where you would normally select your AddIn and it will tell you your particular file path where the rest of them are installed.
Why would you take all that time and effort to produce a training video that has such bad sound recording? Don't you check your work before you post it? We are all very interested in what you want to say and teach us.
Why would you take the time and effort to criticize a human being that wants to share his knowledge for free, you should be thankful that even happens, or you should do it yourself.
Thank you sir.

D, I definitely need to update the sound. I'll work on that next week when I have more time.

Thanks. Didn't know about this software. For those who need to lower your photos resolution, you can do it in Paint.
Anybody know how to make depth map images? Ive been searching but keep finding videos like this. TIA
thanks budy. i was looking for this kind of video and most of them dont tell you how to install the addin.
Could you actually find the ‘AppData’ file and then do the rest?
I’m on windows 11 and I couldn’t find AppData after selecting my user.
@@higaddrip7616 yes i did. it took me a while but i found it.
Great video. Thanks for taking the time.
Really appreciate this video. Really helpful
I'm not sure if it's a version issue, but Fusion won't recognize the plugin folder.
I got the same problem
Great job 👍
Thanks! It works great
Thank you kindly
Hi man do you know why my fusion can't transform the mesh in t-spline?
Its a premade depth map. But how to do it with a photo?
My thoughts exactly
great tutorial!!
Thank you, Hector!

FYI. There is audio, you have to turn your volume way up!
It's take lots of time to convert from Quad mesh to t -
Still it's processing from last one hour.
Please help

They make these things called microphones.
This does not work for Win 11
I haven't been able to test that out. But sounds like making a note like "verified with Win 10" might now be appropriate
