Angelina has done over 160 Covers and 8 or so originals.

I for one, do not call her a singer. To me, that is like calling Rembrandt a mere painter. Angelina is an artist, that compiles her beautiful masterpieces with her voice, her understanding of music composition, and God given talent. Her AGT performance of Bohemian Rhapsody at 13, was my introduction. I have since watched every performance I can find from kindergarten to present day, and if she ever performs a live concert near where I am, I will be there. I liked your reaction as well. Angelina is the barefooted Queen of Soul with a Thousand Voices! She weaves musical tapestries in all colors of the rainbow with her beguiling voice! Her musical artistry is second to none and it not something that can be taught. Soul + Music in perfect harmony!

You may have noticed that nine year old Angelina is the boss in this session. She is hyper aware of every aspect of how this this session should be performed. She not only has complete mastery of the arrangement and her vocal performance, but she knows what each individual musician should be doing and when to do it. It was at this tender age of nine that Angelina became the youngest Norwegian citizen to have written a book and had it published. She speaks four languages and plays several different instruments. There is no other vocalist her age that has her versatility, lower range, instincts and vocal acuity. I know of no other young vocalist that sings jazz, let alone, sound like a forty-five year old seasoned veteran. Angelina Jordan is revitalizing the jazz genre. She is the contemporary queen of jazz. She created and travels in her own lane. She’s already a living legend and she has yet to start her professional career.
Angelina surprised you with her voice. She will surprise you just as much with every other song because it always sounds different. But her style is typical Angelina. But you won't notice that until you've heard several of her songs. There is a long but beautiful road ahead of you. Enjoy it.
Angelina was born on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway (16 years old today). She started singing at the age of one year and a half and has been arranging her cover songs since she was 6 or 7 years old. She started with jazz!! She won “Norway Got Talent” at the age of 8!! There are more than 150 cover songs of all genres and singers. Now she also has her own songs.

- Why Angelina always sings barefoot: At the age of 6, Angelina traveled to the Middle East with her grandmother, who is from Iran and is an artist herself. Angelina noticed a girl her age making some money by asking passers-by to stand on her bathroom scale to be weighed. In order not to soil the scales, Angelina took off her shoes. She chatted with the girl who wasn't wearing shoes and learned that she is an orphan. The girl admired Angelina's beautiful shoes. Angelina then gave the girl her shoes. The girl thanked her and said she would pray for Angelina every day. In return, Angelina promised her that she would always sing barefoot at public performances until all the children had shoes. Until today Angelina has kept her promise. In 2014, she sang barefoot outdoors at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert honoring Malala in December. She also sung barefoot at a dinner with ex-President Obama. At the age of 9, Angelina wrote a book about this story, becoming the youngest published author in Norwegian history. She donated proceeds from sales of the book to help children in need.

If you noticed her writing in the beginning, those were instructions that were then read by the band leader. Now, at the end she became pensive and put her fingers to her chin. There was something she didn't like. That is why she was out of the booth with the band. They were doing a retake which was cut into the first take. There are not a lot of problems with bleed through to her mike. If you ever worked with orchestras and lead classical singers for a stage performance the effects are minimal if any. Even live rock bands don't have much of a problem with bleed through.
This was Angelina Jordan also known as The Barefoot Princess , The Queen of Jazz and The Angel with 1,000 voices singing in full beast mode. Also , amazingly enough this was HER ARRANGEMENT of the 1956 original by Screaming Jay Hawkins !! The notes you saw the music director looking over were Her Wishes on how she wanted the band to play Her Arrangement !! This young lady is a one of a kind talent and true musical prodigy . Remember that she not only sang this song beautifully she arranged it herself at just 9 years of age !!

Sir, this band coined the nickname THE BOSS, as my cocommenters wrote. It was about 30 second to a minute into the song, so its is said, that they fully understood, that they were working with their Norwegian Superstar, National Treasure and all around powerhouse. Angelina is not "bossy", she asked courteously to follow her "wishes". I have seen videos where she worked with this Band at 10 yo and when she had to show a pro keyboarder how she wanted him to play her song. Very patient and when didn´t get it, she asked him, if she might sit at his keyboard and than she played for him slowly, so he got witch keys she used. LOL. at age 12!!! When at age 11 a famous military band cooperated with her, the conductor literally did exactly that. He asked her in whitch key they should play that and that passage! Angelina is today world famous in musician circles for her creepy feeling for music. Ajuror at NGT told her "You a r e music". Stay safe and sound. German greetings.

Angelina has sung barefoot, except for rehearsals, since age 6 in remembrance of an orphan girl near her age that she met on the street in the middle east. The girl was using bathroom scales and weighing people for money. It was cold, she was barefoot, and her feet were scarred. They chatted about their dreams, and she asked Angelina what her dream was. Of course, Angelina said she wanted to be a singer, and sing for the whole world, and asked the girl about her dream. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor, but that was not possible because she had siblings to care for, and she wished Angelina luck in becoming a singing star, and she told Angelina she would pray for her every day. Angelina, on the spot, gave her the sea green boots, her favorites, that she was wearing and told her to never give up on her dreams, called her a “princess” and that she would always remember her.
Angelina wrote in her diary that day, “…to be able to do something for another human, it was such a big thing. Hard to describe really.” Angelina, at 9, became Norway's youngest author when she wrote a book about it, "Mellom to hjerter" ("Between Two Hearts"). Angelina promised herself never to wear shoes when performing again until there were no more children around the world without shoes, clothing, or family. In her book Angelina says, “In respect for you and all children like you, and that you prayed to God, today I walk barefoot on cold floors in front of so many people and sing. This book is for you little princess. You’re like sunshine! I remember and remember you every day.”
Angelina has raised many millions of Euros and Dollars around the world performing at charity concerts since age 8. So, to this day, almost 9 years later, Angelina has always performed barefoot in public. NGT Judge Mia Gundersen called Angelia’s voice, “a gift from the universe.” To me, the true gift to us all is Angelina herself.

When Angelina was traveling at age 6 the family was going through a market where another girl had bathroom scales. The young girl was raising money for her family as she was the eldest. So Angelina and bathroom scales girl sat down and talked. The Bathroom scales girl wanted to be a doctor but had to raise money for family. Angelina noticed that Bathroom scales girl had no shoes so Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to her and made a promise that when performing she would go barefoot until and children have shoes. The lyrics are her version and are hand written and she also hand wrote the arrangements of where she wanted the band to stop or where she wanted new changes ant those are hand written by her and that's what she gave the band leader.

He is Brandon Lowry who has written and produced multiple songs for others including Lana Del Ray, Britney Spears, Avicii, Adam Lambert and Madonna. Angelina’s people did not allow the release of the song because they thought it to be the wrong stylistic choice for her. Baby FuzZ never heard Angelina’s demo until years later. She collaborated with Norwegian EDM (Electronic Dance Music) duo TRXD and recorded vocals for song. TRXD is Truls Dyrstad and David Atarodiyan where TRXD represents their names (TRuls X David). In 2020, song was released officially as audio only track and has over 3.9 million plays on Spotify. By almost 900,000 this song is number 1 played song of TRXD on Spotify. However, amazing unofficial video was created that added some footage of shuffle dancers doing variations of Melbourne Shuffle that originated in Melbourne, Australia, in underground rave scene. Although not exactly known when Melbourne Shuffle was developed (probably in mid to late 1980s), it supposedly was first shown publicly in TV interview by Ruppert Keller in 1990. Norwegian born Angelina began singing at the age of one and a half, and by age three was listening to jazz and classics legends on repeat. She won Norway's Got Talent at the age of only 8, singing old time classics from Billie Holliday and George Gershwin, and became the youngest ever winner of an international Got Talent Show! She also went viral on America's Got Talent the champions in 2020 with her unique version of Bohemian Rhapsody. She is a true prodigy.
She is now 16, and has recorded over 160 songs, including mostly covers and several originals. A major attraction to Angelina's music is the emotion and attitude she conveys, although she has not experienced the life events! She is known as the barefoot princess of 1,000 voices as she can adjust her tone, style, and register for any song or genre. She was signed by Republic Records over a year ago. Why does Angelina sing barefoot?
When she was 6 years old, she was in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own shoes and has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond.
Angelina penetrates hearts because she is humble and has compassion for humanity. Her stated goal from childhood was to sing for the world and spread love and peace. The fact you knew that song and could recognize him on the candle (which I assume she made) put you ahead of lots of reactors right away. I really like her version better than his (as I do most of her covers--and she covers some great songs by great singer/songwriters). Jay says he wrote it as a ballad but got drunk at the recording session and that take was so successful he hammed it up with a lot of stuff that really wouldn't pass muster today. If you only do one other song by her, it has to be her reinvention of Bohemian Rhapsody on AGT at 13 (she's 16 now). I like her versions of Stay, When We Were Young, I'd Rather Go Blind, her tribute to her friend Avicii Wake Me Up, Marshmallow's Happier, Born to Die--there are so many. As you can see, she covers the best by the best. You're gonna love it.
Great reaction. As an older man (73) I do appreciate a reactor who knows his stuff and can make comparisons. Out of interest, you might want to see her jamming with the same band on Screaming Jay's "Portrait of a Man" (which she changed to "Child"). It gives an insight into how comfortable she is with accomplished professionals. As for another song, try It's A Man's World which she sings with the Norwegian Stabsmusikkorps (something like that!) Military Band. Or Feeling Good at the Gir Tilbake Livestream. And having done that, you are only scratching the surface of what this amazing singer has already achieved.

Angelina is a musical genius, pure and simple. Her understanding of music is phenomenal and her ability to express the emotion of a song is spectacular. In this, she pulls the music out of a circus act and makes it beautiful. Most people emulate the Nina Simone version. Not Angie; back to the madhouse and rescue the song. Strongdad you will find that Angelina does a lot of her performances with large bands several with entire orchestras Quincy Jones 85 birthday celebration ( fly me to the moon rehearsal) , summer time with KORK , feeling good in Germany with a mini orchestra to name a few. She has traveled the world doing charity events turned down many record companies after winning Norway’s got talent at age 8 including Disney ( her parents are keeping a tight reign on her they have now however let her sign with Republic Records with the understanding education comes first

This is quite authentic and this is this 9 year olds arrangement and interpretation of Screamin Jay's 1956 original. This is a great jazz band backing her here and she has done other things with them as well. The affectionately refer to her as the "Boss" in studio. Those hand written notes handed to the band leader were her "wishes" for how she wanted to perform this song. This is already an iconic masterpiece on YT and for good reason. You just discovered the "golden egg" so to speak and everything she does is spectacular. But she did not have vocal training. She absorbed this all herself immersing herself in Jazz on U-Tube from the age of 3 yrs old. Her family recognized the uniqueness of her voice and abilities and did not want to mess with it. This is all Angelina. She has chosen everything she does and has had a part if not total control of the arrangements from this same age.
Prodigy? Yes there is video of her at 18 months old sing a couple of lines of 'I Will Always Love You' by Whitney Houston into a toy mic.
She grew up singing Jazz and this is obviously her favorite genre, the biggest influence, the origination of her versatility, deep soulful expression and deep emotional connection to her audience. She can sing any song and any genre. She is absolutely fearless in choice of covers. No artist is too big and no song too daunting. Most Artists shy away from singing Acappella as it will quickly show any flaws. At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. I'm sub'd on your channel and can't wait for more. If I could recommend your next A.J video, it woild probably be her version of Bohemian Rhapsody, which gave me goosebumps. But PLEASE DO Angelina's 1st original release next, "Million Miles" from Republic Records where she got signed at age 14. Not only did she wright this song at 14 years old, but it was in memory of her Grandfather who had just died. it will just melt your heart.
Also her latest release is called 7th Heaven, which she also wrote, and it's very jazzy which shows she's sticking to her roots and developing her own distinct style.
I believe we must support this talented girls present and budding career and promote not only what she's done but to promote and introduce her original work as well.
As you go through her videos you are going to see how she often looks to her left reading the lyrics. As stated by her guitarists these videos is often never rehearsed meaning she is making the songs her own as she goes. How this is even possible, nobody will ever understand. She can sing any genre and you will notice she always add parts of the original singer and parts of AJ of course.
