How'd you change transfer case to Hilux tryna switch mine out but can't decide whether to do it myself or pay mechanic, what did you end up doing for yours?
Just matched the transfer to the right Hilux box (both were a750F 5 speeds) Need to modify the tail shaft lengths to suit the transfer output locations and switch the transfer levers (Prado transfer lever in the Hilux transfer case) Pretty easy to do if you have mechanical experience, Most mechanics will say no however because it’s not a common mod, I don’t know anyone else that’s done it, had to do all the research and trial and error myself haha
@@mitchellrobinson9810 ah ok, Yeh Ive been doing research and almost no one does any major mods to a prado, thanks for the info though super helpful, also was it a long process after you had found the right case or reasonably fast (2-3 weeks or longer basically)
@@ZOE-hu9wu sorry for the late reply, i replaced my gearbox at the same time and did everything in under 2 days 👌🏻, have had experience in this before though
