Wife and I were looking at one of those. We ended up with a 2023 Grand Cherokee L with the 5.7L . We love it , lots of room. We only have 1 kid but we have 2 big dogs. So we have the 3rd row always folded.
We bought a 2022 series 2. Used. The original owners did not do a great job of keeping up with recalls. So as soon as we got it we called our local dealership and had them all done. We love it. Its big roomie. I love the rumble of v8. And took our first road trip. Averaged 22mpg. Dont regret it at all
If you want recalls, the King is FORD and TOYOTO! That said, it is annoying, but all manufacturers have recalls, especially with the complexity of the new vehicles. I looked at the Grand Wagoneer but instead bought a new 2023 Grand Cherokee Summit with the Hemi engine. I love everything about the GC, and the Palermo (Orange/Camel) interior is breathtaking. No recalls, no glitches, just a great vehicle.
I've been waiting to see more videos from you about this vehicle and I barely see much. I actually own a 22 Wagoneer series 2 and we love it. If I could of gotten the L I would of but to expensive.
I know the Wagoneer receives tons of unnecessary hate, but I will say that $/feature, it is unmatched. Wagoneers come standard with the class highest payload/tow capacity(10K!), heated/cooled leather, heated mirrors w/ traffic alert, heated power steering wheel, and now, the most standard power with the 420hp Hurricane I-6(matching the Tahoe's 6.2 V8). I found it to also have a very supple ride as well. Sure there are oddities about it, with certain angles of the exterior looking ungainly, but some angles looking elegant. But overall, it does represent an overall good value for what it offers.
One thing I don't recall hearing you mention is the terrible resale value on these Jeeps. In my mind, Jeep was never a luxury brand. But they seem to have decided to change themselves overnight by charging twice as much or more for a vehicle that isn't a luxury brand SUV. I'm amazed at how many of these are sitting on Jeep dealerships unsold. They are just too expensive! $116,000 for a Jeep grand wagoneer with options? Unbelieveable.
Terrible resale value on anything. If you think a vehicle is an investment, you are misinformed. You buy safety, comfort, reliability. They all tank in value or the value was never there, but you can't buy something like a vehicle that gets refined every couple years and expect to see a return on the price you paid. Resale is a crock of a point to make.
I like the Wagoneer. I don't think we'll end up with one. I am not sure on the exterior and where's the offroad version? I also wish they had more color offerings. IDK this huge SUV has an identity crisis IMO.
jeep only offered advanced off road group on series II ,did not see it one the 2024 wagoneer builder , this is more of a 3 row luxury family school bus
It still boggles my mind that Jeep didn't make a version to directly take on the Tahoe Z71/Yukon AT4 or the Expedition off-road version. The version that they did offer didn't have any esthetic that separated it from other models in terms of exterior styling, like the competing vehicles do. But it did have the best offroad credentials with the standard Quadra-Drive II 4WD system and air suspension(extra cost on the GMs and unavailable on Expedition).
@@hellkitty1014 true...as no dealers orderd the advanced off road group , as I was looking for one ,to get a low range one has to order the HD tow package with a 3.92 axel ratio ,which no dealers order , if it only had a solid rear axle and no 3rd row opt was trail rated /trial hawk what a off road camper /overland rig this could be
@@youtubecarspottersguide1 yep! I saw ONE in all of the US in 2023 and it was in Utah actually, not surprising considering the huge offroad presence there. I gotta say it completely changes the look of it. BEAST!
Nice review. So… I have an opinion like many others so take it for what it's worth, not much. I like everything you and your wife like about the Wagoner. However the exterior styling was horrific. It is not a wagoneer, it doesn't even feel like a Grande Cherokee. It's just boring as a civics class. It's my understanding that these vehicles are not selling. I believe it's for two reasons. (1) boring exterior and a bit boring but incredibly nice interior. (2) cost vs competition. The wagoneer should have been priced just below the Yukon and the most luxurious wagoneeer should be just below the Denali Ultimate. Why? Because the GM dominance drives sales and the competition must be significantly better. Given the option of the Lincoln, Ford, GMC or new Tahoe vs Wagoneer… I'd choose any one over the wagoneer. NOW THAT would change if: styling and reliability improved. We have a grande Cherokee overland and love it.
We owned a new Jeep Grand Cherokee L for about 6 months. We traded it back it; we couldn't take that new Uconnect5. The NAV would drop out while going down the road. You would have to pull over to reset it. It also would lose the driver 1 seat memory. What car does that?
@@chadd587 We never really loved the grand L. We went back to the Cherokee for the last model year. It's got every bell and whistle and will even park itself!

Weird all the recalls on my Grand Cherokee and was only 3 where 15 to 30 mins. It had 2 more but when I went to the dealer only took 5 mins both times 2 see my Jeep wasn't part of the recall. They had fix the problem before my Jeep was made and I was just being safe.
