Thank you so much for a thoroughly entertaining video. As Americans from Pennsylvania, we had the pleasure of visiting Islay and Jura two years ago and would love the opportunity to return. The Scottish people, of course, were the best. Looking forward to new videos.
Glad you enjoyed the video frank ..it was my first time back in Port Ellen Islay since 1987 ..so I fair enjoyed the visit as I often worked there in the 80's ..plenty new videos of the area coming.. the latest covers the treshnish Isles and Mull 😀
Hi steve ..got your message about the highfield so you will be happy with a proper hull now. I was away at sea and turn my phone off when away so I dont get messages until I return . Phone battery goes flat quick hunting for signals off shore which is why I have it turned off. You want rollers and not bunks now ..and have fun with the new boat :-D
Hi Donny, I understand. I ordered the Extreme 400 trailer with rollers did want the 4.2 but was worried about storage and getting from the South. Hope your journey went well. Atb Steve 👍.
Saluto Capitano Bontempi ! Good job on the incidental music Donny, seriously. Decent sea conditions mean the group can stay together, rather than be strung out & potentially isolated. Great stuff, well done.
Thanks ashley ..bit better than Burns dirges 😲 so glad you enjoyed it. Hope all has been well in your land. The weather is better up here and Im heading off with the tent again tomorrow ..till I get fed up..you will see where I go in the next video..as Im not sure myself yet ..but its out to sea and following my nose 😀
What a fantastic weekend and loving the drone work to give the gathering that sense of scale….hope you’re enjoying the camping and the midges are not too horrendous, might still be early for the worst of them…. I’ve been out a few times recently and glad to be properly back on the water. Your waverly video some time ago inspired me to both take a trip on her and also motor alongside her round the Kyle’s of Bute last year, already got another trip booked for this season….
Glad to finally meet you Donny. My wife and I fell in love with Easdale and the surrounding area. We were staying in a b&b a few hundred yards away from the Connel Bridge and I have to admit I got very giddy as I had seen that bridge so many times on your videos. We went with Tony on the first shorter trip, but unfortunately, we blew our outboard on the way back, and Tony towed me back at an exciting 20 knots. We will be back next year..the people we met were lovely...Hope to see you up there again.....all the best and have a great season. ps we didn't run into any of those pesky midges 😂
great seeing you there too fastasfox. if you are still at connel..i will be heading under the bridge around 10am tomorrow ..heading up sound of mull with all my camping kit.. I will come back when I get fed up or rained off. Still too early for midges but they are on their way> Sorry about your outboard ..did you see Davies reply of Ribnet ..he is a very genuine guy .. you wont believe the price I got my last two outboards at from him ..lets say just a little over half price. I guarantee he wont rip you off if you read his post in your ribnet..went bang post. He is the busiest yamaha outboard dealer up this way..over on the east coast
Glad you informed me that vid was on, the whole event was perfectly filmed for all to enjoy. I met Seamus at slipway last year with his girl and watched them taking the rough stuff around I think it was lismore in the zap cat without knowing his pedigree with this flying machine. Another spectacular video Donny and I look forward to many more. Grateful thanks. Regards Robert
I was almost going up the loch tomorrow for a few days user-en ..but have decided to head back to sea and up the sound of Mull till I get fed up ..so hoping weather holds 😀
I was a brilliant day david ..just a shame visibility was poor for the folks travelling a long distance for the event..but they seemed to enjoy it regardless :-D
ha, ha , your not being serious i hope , everyone has to enjoy the water boating is for all , whats a couple of days out of the year and those small villages benefit from the stop overs food drink and fuel ,live and let live man
Didn't know this event was on at the weekend. I was up at Oban on the RIB at the weekend and completely failed to spot you guys. Had a nice run up to Armaddy on Loch Etive on Friday followed on Saturday by a run down to the Slate Isles, through the Grey Dogs then over to the Garvellachs and back up past Easdale (2 RIBS at the pier) and back to Oban. Never spotted you guys once 😢 Nice video Donny.
Gosh..it was hard hiding 78 RIBs but we obviously managed Argylldiving. Im heading off tomorrow on 10am tide ..going up sound of mull..got all my camping stuff and will just follow my nose and come back to etive once I get fed up..or rained off..got to make the most of things as midges will be here soon 😀
@@Argylldiving Think you asked about an outboard glitch near Maiden Island and Ganavan Argylldiving but cant seem to fine that message now ? Anyhoo. I checked on Saturday ..coming back from Loch Buie on Mull up sound of Kerrera ..through gap at Maiden Isle and then past Ganavan. I can confirm as I listened to the outboard very closely since you asked..but alas.. it never missed a beat around Maiden Isle and Ganavan ..so cant assist with your question :-D
@@donnywilcox cheers Donny, yeah I removed the mention of the outboard issue as I thought it mind have sounded too X files lol. Thanks for checking. Strangely, it only seems to happen on the way into Oban from Ardmucknish Bay, never the other way. 😁 I'll be up that way next week so I'll maybe run over the spot armed with a GoPro to film it. Bet it runs fine when I do 🙄🙄
Any dates for next years one? We went to jura and back, lovely day and we spotted a porpoise while trying to catch up to the fleet after leaving Jura bound for Carsaig
Hi calumaitchison ..its always held on the May Bank holiday weekend..so it should be easy to check when the bank hols are. (Im not sure which date as I type though)Sounds like you had a great time. This week the weather has been exceptional and I spent 4 days going round Mull..saw a Minki whale about 100 meters from my boat. Landed on Treshnish Islands and the many nesting puffins just stand and stare at you. I was 6 feet from them ..so plenty wildlife to see in the area..hope next years ERR has good weather too :-D
that was great video well put together , lot of work involved editing and your music track loved it ,wondering what software you used to play record the tracks on
Thanks for the kind words on the video theresnobodyhere. the keyboard I use ..yamaha genos ..has a midi sequencer built in and at times it controls another two keyboards I have. I also have software called Samplitude Studio on the computer that records audio tracks ..hope that answers your question :-D
@@donnywilcox excellent and great quality all the mixing and levels ,your a pro ,i was impressed that an old fella your age would get so technical involved with the digital computer recording,😂👍 not being ageist
thanks Jeff..heading off camping tomorrow for a few days..weather still ok and still no midges so making most of it. you and gordon will need to come soon too :-D

Brilliant video Donny! Wish I could have been there...maybe next year!
What a ghastly affair !
A bunch of gas guzzling ribs tearing about the beautiful west of Scotland. This is akin to jet skis on loch lomond. Dear me.
