Shockwave is one of the main characters in the transformers franchise and I am so happy to see more movie accurate look for him . And I am happy to see an amazing review for him too 😁❤️ .
I cant get behind the soft squishy parts for critical parts and accessories, because that stuff always comes out slightly bent or distorted for a non-trivial number of instances of the toy.. .and I somehow get those more often than I'd like... and when the squishy parts are so impossible to ignore... its just infuriating, I like the look of the toy... but I cant justify buying it because I know it'll be un-fun to play with or handle for me. good review though
I pre-ordered this figure a good month and a half ago... I'm so excited to get my hands on it😁 As a character in DOTM he was severally under used, but this is by far my all time favorite design for Shockwave.. with TFP Shockwave's design being a close second.
One thing that really annoys me is they used way too much rubbery plastic so unnecessarily aside that I am really impressed with the sculpt, detail, paint, and articulation.
Sooo...the arm sword is the only thing that the original DotM Voyager class Shockwave beats this one in...because the arm sword of SS56 is a hollow piece of FAIL. Not sure why Hasbro & Takara couldn't have just reused the Voyager one for this. 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️ Otherwise, this is one incredible beast of a figure!! Probably up there with SS07 AoE Grimlock for best Leader class SS figure, maybe best Studio Series figure outright!!

Yeah I agree, the paratrooper mini figure isn't really neescary to include. But the Wheelie and Brain mini figure are neat. -But Shockwave, the one eye purple decepticon assassin himself, he's very screen accurate to his Dark of the Moon movie appearance. From head, to chest, to arm and arm cannon and more, he's done very well. The rubber plastic his some parts could be a problem down the line, but it's smooth and as detailed as it can. For his color scheme, the black/gray shading works, but I wish the purple parts of his body had the G1 purple (I think it's was either called Pearly purple or Pansy purple) color scheme, like the original DOTM toy, but the weathering just make the purple color work. Looking forwward to getting him with Nitro Zeus -If my rubber plastic blade is loose on my Studio Series Shockwave, I'll just super glue it in the peg hole on the side of the arm that will show off the blade in both tank and robot mode.
Hey my friend whats up! I just got this figure today and in its alt mode, it dosent say, but you can unplug the hose from the canon and attach it to the other port on the elbow. that way the hose fits just well enough as the instuctions tell you. XD oh and btw, I got this figure coz of your review XD I hadnt bought another studio series except from Grimlock and because the addons make it look amazing in both robot and dino mode. But yeah Shockwave really impressed me, so I was waiting for it to come out and finally found him in walmart today XD
I’m not surprised they reused the Megatron mold for Shockwave, considering he never transformed once in the movie so they had to come up with alt. mode. That’s not to say I wouldn’t pick it up.

you're folding the hose the wrong way in tank mode, it goes inward, and comes out beside the thigh. (helps to unpeg the leg, fold it in, then re-peg the leg)
We need ss protoforms for both auto bots and cons but the cons have a “heavy” protoform which is just a long haul repain and or retool and the other for both bots and cons is a regular foot soldier like the ones from rotf and dotm also the bot protoforms are just a repaint and retool of the con protoforms
Out of curiosities how can the studio series figures become damaged from displaying them? I have 50% of the line and would like to keep them in good condition so would keeping them in the box protect them better then having them displayed?
i'm sure 3P companies are already rushing to their drawing boards designing upgrade kits for this figure. a driller would really be nice. i was kinda expecting this figure would have like even just the head or small part of the driller and not the paratrooper and the two small bots.

Hm, since his ankles are on double hinges (one at the leg and the other at the foot) for transformation, I wonder if you can alter his size just slightly like with most Studio Series figures. Still Shockwave is the highlight of this wave, and most likely my first purchase for next year, and I'm easily looking to place him in my top 5 SS figures
It's a nice figure, looks amazing, articulation is pretty good. But, the accessories are pretty useless for play value, transformation is kinda boring, and the PVC is kinda pointless in some spots (especially the spear, hand, and cannon tip) All in all, I would pick it up if there wasn't any other figures. I'm more gonna pick up Mixmaster and Scavenger for the point of Devastator. I may pick up the 1st movie megatron, but this I'm not really gonna bother with

I've been reading over the tfw2005dotcom forums about some TF toys having issues with rubberized material (specifically that those rubbers starts melting the hard plastic), I think it's called "Plasticizer Migration". Do you guys think that this figure will suffer from this? /: I really want this Transformer but I don't want it to degrade in the near future... I mean, this guy is all covered in that soft PVC
Apologies for the late reply, but I'm afraid it will happen :( Keep him away from direct sunlight and you'll prolong the PVC parts. Aside from that, a decade from now, that PVC will melt
How come most of the Decepticon figures have more effort put into them that make them look so striking and have that masterpiece feel to them, while the Autobot figures like Bumblebee look so lackluster and cheap in comparison, except AOE Grimlock?

Dont expose them to direct sunlight and dust them with a soft lint free cloth every once in a while. Display them in a glass cabinet would look cool.

That robot mode is BEASTLY. But yeah, the tank sucks, I think the DOTM voyager did the altmode much better. And hey it DID have lightpiping.
Apart from the covering of Shockwave's head being better the alt mode of the DOTM Voyager sucked. It looked terrible.

My only guess for why Shockwaves hand and fingers are soft is due to his daily routine of useing moisturizing hand lotion.
