Excellent review. I like the white, love the red, and am completely obsessed with the blue. I will occasionally find myself daydreaming about it, if I'm out of stock (it's very hard to pick up in the UK). The trick with that is to never, ever run out of stock ;-)
Sorry to hear it's rare in the UK, that's terrible!
@@ontapchannel I have trips across the Channel to Calais every few months to fill up ✅
@@DaniboyCom That's a good system
try serving the beer in a wet glass, it preserves the carbonation a bit better (with dry and/or dirty glass you can see the little bubbles attached to the inner side) cool video as always!
Thanks for the tip, will try that!
Always in wet glasses, better indeed
Great video. The new Chimay verte (Green Chimay) and Chimay dorée (Golden Chimay - in fact the beer that monks usually drink) are missing. Maybe a new video for them. But the new Chimay verte (Green Chimay) is very strong, don't drink 2 bottles of them if you have to drive 😂 The blue Chimay is the one we prefer in Belgium.
Yes I would like to try green and good, they're just very difficult to get a hold of in the U.S.
@@ontapchannel if you have a world market near you i believe a lot of them carry green chimay in 750ml bottles, that's where i got ahold of it the first time. gold unfortunately i havent been able to find outside of their glassware set
Just found your channel! Superb research and thanks for uploading- looking at the other vids on the list, I know I’m going to learn loads. I live in Kent, home of East Kent Goldings and Belgium is only across the channel so no excuse for me not to visit soon!
Thanks very much! Yes Belgium really does have such a rich history of brewing and is a great place to go for tastings.
Great review buddy, thanks 👍
New to the channel and enjoying it. If you would make a video on geuze beer (from pajottenland) try to include food pairing. Those beers are difficult and underrated due to their acidity levels, but paired well, are mindblowing. Try goat cheese and sour bread with them, or in fact any dish with high acidity. You’ll enjoy
Thanks! I'm curious to check out geuze beer, not familiar with it. Will keep an eye out for them.
Pair with cheese and coarse bread and stew . Christmas season blu. 😮😊🎉
Sounds like an excellent meal for a cold winter's night.
@@ontapchannel well those Monks are cut mostly from the sheperds cloth and the ocsobs until reforms were made ate alot of gruel without the meat . But yeah holiday 1 ale around cold Christmas nights works for them.
I'm drinking it at this moment, great beer, I can't believe that has 9 degrees of alcohol, so drinkable, definitely a World Class beer, Saludos de Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico😊
It really is a world-class beer. Cheers!
I might do some Chimay revisits, soon.
They really make great beer.
My favourite beer since i was 16 😁
Great stuff, subbed.
Thanks!
great video 👍🍻
Thanks!
You should try duvel if you haven't already
The Duvel episode is coming out later this year!
Had the blue one, really enjoyed it. Upvote for trailer park boys reference
Thanks!
Reported to authorities for using a wrong glass !
Just tell them we're still very low budget.
I’ll send you some glasses if you want to (not kidding). Plenty of them around here. Hi from Belgium.
horrible background music. Great video anyway
The momment I saw the glass he was trying the beer, I unsuscribed immediately.
Get off your high horse. Any tulip shaped glass is just fine if you don't have the original glassware.
Never mind the glasses. If you haven’t got the “right” one, a wine glass will do just fine. Try the tulip style
The dude is from the US, give him a break, he may not have used the exact right glass, but he did get a "mini duvel" one, as long as it is Chalice shaped, for trapist beers, its a pass for me.
Besides his review was absolutely on point, missing a few but still, very solid review.
Greetings from Namur.
