this sounds awesome, I have a 2005 2.5 I limited, I've been wanting do some mods for awhile but i wasn't really sure where to start, this video just helped me make up my mind.
Same dude
That thing sounds soooo good. I'm looking into exhaust options rn for my 05 and this helps alot
Good luck!
What are you gonna get? I need a new exhaust in spring and want something not too expensive but not too quiet
Sounds great man!
I have an 08' obxt with the Nameless muffler delete exhaust and I love sound it makes.
Benjamin G was it worth the 350 cause I’m interested in getting one
Yes it was. It unleashed my OBXT's subie rumble...
Sounds MUCH better
A very nice system and love how you did not replace the big ass mother rear mufflers.
I think so not to attact the attention of the Police we'll have a couple of small mufflers at the rear to take the harshness off the note.
Yeah, don't get me wrong, even with the mufflers it was pretty loud haha.
Sounds good
sounds great.
No way! I bought this car earlier this year! It sounds great, the previous owner replaced the exhaust with something else, but I definitely want it back with this one
This exact one? Saw it was for sale a few months ago by the kid that I sold it to. He had done some more stuff to it but can’t remember exactly what.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy Yep, 5th subaru, mnsubiez, even the same rota gravels. He did quite a bit to it since these videos, and Ive had a little engine work done to it too.
@@josephahles7529 Damn that’s awesome lol. How many miles on it now?
@@TonyTheTruckGuy bought it with 200k or so and it just hit 220k with 15k on the new engine/heads.Currently at 300whp too
@@josephahles7529 Nice! It was a nice car I’m glad it got a new engine. Still lots of life left now.
Awesome. Sounds great! Any slither of power-loss?
No noticeable change in power either way until it was tuned.
Hi, I have a 2007 Subaru Outback with a stock exhaust but mine dosent have any sound compared to when yours was stock.. do you know why???? thanks
Does your Outback have a turbo or any exhaust upgrades before the mufflers?
What did you all have to do to put on the 52 turbo? Since mine is stock everything, so I thought it might be fun in the future to upgrade it.
It bolts right in as long as you get the VF52 out of the WRX. The only thing I had to do was loosen 1 clamp on the turbo to “clock” it a little bit, then tightened the clamp back up. I then added an electronic boost controller and got a tune.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy ok! And I'm guessing I would have to get a new tune then too?
Yeah, I had mine dyno tuned
nice how did you get rid of the check engine lite and the flashing cruze
The cruise light typically flashes and disables cruise control when you get a check engine light on these since it's electronic throttle. Mine had TGV codes and I did a TGV delete at the same time I had the car tuned which got rid of that pesky light.
Cruise plus Check engine means either your fuel cap is lose or you have a fuel issue. It's a common false light on these cars mines on 24/7 had it wiped 3 times now
Damn 😍
Where did you get this kit ebay? How much was it? Sounds killer man.
It wasn’t cheap haha. Like $1500 if you want the mufflers because it’s all TIG welded stainless steel. Nameless performance brand, link in video description.
Can I make mine outback 3.0 sound like that or only is with that 2.5 turbo engine?
This specific kit probably won’t fit the 3.0, but if you get a set of unequal length headers, it will get you closer to this sound and get you that Subaru grumble.
Sounds awesome but on long trip isn't it annoying ?
Never got to take it on any long trips before I sold it haha. But yeah, I probably wouldn’t want to go on any drive over an hour or 2. There’s definitely decent drone.
Awesome. How many miles are you at??
It was at 178k in this video
@@TonyTheTruckGuy Dang. How was it from a reliability standpoint? Anything to watch out for when you modify it with the mileage that high? I own a 06 obxt MT and was toying around with the idea of going stage 2 which requires the full turboback exhaust.
It kinda went down hill when the factory turbo went out. I updated to vf52 and that quickly blew up too. Then my TGV started throwing codes. Ended up having shop drill VGT and remove the oil supply line screens for the turbo then threw another used v52 on it and was good after a dyno tune. Then it was misfiring due to cam position so changed sensor and still messed up. Took to shop and they fixed free. I think they damaged the wire when they drilled the TGV and did dyno tune. By the end it wasn’t too bad but it cost a lot. Also highly recommend an air/oil separator. Mine liked to consume oil.
Well, I plan to keep the stock turbo (or at least the same kind it comes with since the factory one might go out relatively soon as I'm approaching 150k), so I can do the cobb ots map without having to pay for a dyno tune. Hopefully that helps from a reliability standpoint. Also, what is TGV?
Tumbler generator valves. Basically the butterfly valves for your intake. Or the “throttle bodies”. If you’re looking for a bolt-on but mild performance boost when your turbo fails, the VF52 is a good option. Direct bolt-on from the like 09-11 WRX. Will get you 25-50 hp after tune and you can get them used for about $300-800. And for sure remove the oil screen filters in the supply lines. All they do is clog and starve turbo of oil which causes it to fail.
Can the legacy and outback use the same exhaust ?
If it’s a wagon, I’d say yes. Nameless also has exhaust for the legacy sedans.
outbacks also have the turned down tips because theres no cut out in the bumper :)
What year is your outback?
I don’t have it anymore but it was a 2006
Does it shoot flames
Lmao 😂 Honestly I’m not sure. Sold the car a while back and I never redlined it while having anyone watch the exhaust. Didn’t see any during this video and it didn’t have 2 step.
How bad is the drone?
It's definitely there.... best way to hear is use headphones at the in-cab portion of the video. I've heard better and heard worse. It's definitely more on the performance side of things, even with the resonator and mufflers. If you leave for work at 5am and have close neighbors, or have to tote around little kids, it's probably not the best option. I liked it and only found it to be a tad loud in a few situations.
Is this in WA or ID? Currently on consignment?
MN. Sold it a few years ago but it was for sale again recently.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy I was just lookin at one, same color, and has an Invidia catless downpipe. But they mounted some stock piping and mufflers behind all of that. Damn thing is 2 grand over book, and barely in the condition to be worth book 🤦♂️
Nice video man. It'll help if I find one!
@@dsbeem87 Yeah the market sucks right now for buying lol. Make sure you get one with lower miles if possible. This thing drained my bank lol
whats the CEL for?
Cam sensor wire was pinched. Got messed up when they did my TGV deletes and they fixed it for me.
I have 2.5 outback without turbo , just few weeks ago changed engine and same check engine with cruise wtf....
Since the car has an electronic throttle, if the engine light comes on, it also disabled the cruise control in case the throttle does something funky. So you have to fix the engine light to get cruise back, quite annoying.
Same with my Impreza
@@TonyTheTruckGuy hey i also have a 2.5 can this exhaust also work on my car even if its not an XT? can any aftermarket work? Id love to hear your feedback, thank you.
I’m not sure honestly. This kit bolted right up because I had a 3” down pipe already. You would need about a $40 adapter to go from this exhaust to stock exhaust. But this exhaust was also like $1500 with the mufflers so you’ll have to decide if it’s worth that on a non-turbo car
?? Nameless specifies that their catback will not work on non turbos. They do have just the axle back though that should work.
do u have uel header?
Yeah the turbo models came with UEL from the factory I believe. I didn’t have aftermarket manifolds or anything to my knowledge.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy ok thanks . i didn’t know if id get a reply or not cause it’s an older vid haha. im trying to get some uel headers on my n/a 2.5i because i love the sounds of the subie rumble and i heard uel headers are needed for rumble
@@andrewmk4 That is correct! Most people just get a cheap set of UEL online for their N/A engine
@@TonyTheTruckGuy i found a set of uel headers that should fit but it doesn’t say if they are uel or not . and they look like they r to me but who knows. it’s hard to find an exact fit for a 2006 outback 2.5i
@@andrewmk4 you should be able to tell that 1 manifold looks slightly larger if they are actually UEL
Why anyone would remove the cat is beyond me. Do you hate breathing that much?
They were already removed when I got the car and I wasn't going to pay to buy and install new ones.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy Understood. Yes, they are expensive. I just hate it when people do that because the impact on the air we breathe is absolutely massive, and the improvement is not relatively significant. Appreciate the response.
@@TCPUDPATM Yeah, typically high-flow cats are good up to about 800-1000 hp so anything under that and catless doesn’t really help. I think it’s mainly a cost thing people just delete them when they have to replace them or think they are gaining something.
Sounds like someone better call the Waaaaaahmbulance.
Cry baby.
Sounded like shit before
I agree lol.
Sounds like a honda! Never want my car to sound like that
Not even close. Unequal length headers makes it way more grumbly than a Honda.
