Going to the Gym as a Person with Disabilities

- Hi everybody!
I‘ve recently gotten into going to the gym and thought I’d make a video about what that’s like as a person with disabilities!
I’m in the process of getting diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), which is a heart condition.
This can cause exercise intolerance, which has made going to the gym tricky in the past but I’m determined to not let that stop me!
This is a pretty short video but I hope you guys enjoy!

i loved seeing that. i have autism too. i have a love hate relationship with my gym. like yes to routine and after gym endorphins but no to loud music and other people. still working through my anxiety when i'm there.

Sis good on you. I have narcolepsy so in the middle of a workout I used to need to go to the break room and lose consciousness for 15 min then come back 😮💨😍

I should hit the gym, I just have 0 motivation to go. My problem is my body doesn't tell me when enough is enough or generally that I'm hungry or thirsty, this has caused multiple problems for me in the past. So I took it lighter and lighter and eventually stopped. Hopefully you keep going though! 😊
i have the same issue! i know mine is caused by my autism. i’ve found for me that when i’m working out, i stick to a schedule and i don’t stray from that, it’s a good way of getting in exercise without accidentally pushing myself too far :)
