I am especially glad to see the improvements to the road bed, the concrete ties, the welded rail. This line has been transformed from the second thought of Burlington Northern. To a truly first class route from Seattle to Spokane. The BNSF in taking back the line from the MRL Will see more improvements all the way to Billings and beyond. They have to, the Noethern Trans Con is Maxed out
Another solid video session - Thanks as always NeilyBobMojo! Great day for a premier as well - I tried to get some footage at Albina today… just too wet for a quality shoot. Thanks for keeping us entertained until “June weather” arrives!
Interesting to note how these doubles have become common. I remember a few years back when UP ran a stack train from Texas to California, 18,000 feet. All kinds of people upset, from locals, to politicians to first responders. At the time it was "just a test" to see what the technology could do. Well, it's easy to see the technology works. I do like more trains rather than fewer but the railroads like the economics. These monsters are pretty boring once the power has gone by.
Happy you did this in my area, my area doesn’t get big attention when it comes to railfanning! Oh and selph landing RD Is my fav spot, see Amtrak going to eltopia a lot too.
When did these extra long trains start happening? They seem to me to be over the top. I think long trains are cool, but not this long. Wouldn't it be better to divide them into shorter trains?
This has been common practice for years as the railroads try to move more with less manpower. At times they actually combine two trains into one for these movement then separate them near their destination.

I work on top of these trains as a grain inspector in the Port of Vancouver

What is the reason for the hi rail truck trailing the train?
Probably just general inspection at the same time as the train was passing. Thanks for watching!
So, are they going to the silos in Seattle?
These trains head to export terminals in Portland, Vancouver, Kalama, Temco in Tacoma, and Louis Dreyfus in Seattle.
@@neilybobmojo_railfanning Thanks for the info!
