I believe that, and I wasn't even born until the 90's 😅😆 The 80's looks/sounds awesome in many ways! (But I also liked the 90's, I think the 80's and 90's have amazing music etc.)
80s music was experimental , freestyle and funto listen. Electronic music was new and fresh , so they created multiple masterpieces . Also at that time BANDS existed and independent individuals created music . These days music companies own singers , music composers . All the music almost looks the same .
Sounds legit, Payphones existed in the 80's, cellphone did not. So a song about spending all the change on the payphone sounds really like a real legit thing that wouldve happened to a lot of people back then.
I wish I was born in the 70s to experience Maroon 5 in the 80s. Sadly I was born in 1998. I hope they do make a comeback. They had some really great hits, such as Sugar and She Will Be Loved.
I remember listening to this in '88, I was about to pick up the newspapers in our front porch but I suddenly heard this on the radio....Ah, the memories...
This is amazing. I feel the 80s oozing from this. I can see an establishing scene from a movie with this playing in the background as the camera settles on the quad of a high school.
I remembered my grandma listening to this song in late 80's..I was 6 years at that time...she cried everytime our old radio play this song coz my grandfather left her with his new girl back then
Cool 80’s AOR sound. Sounds sort of like bands such as Glass Tiger, Alias, Sheriff, Bad English, Bad Company (their 80’s stuff), Michael Bolton (his early stuff), etc…

This definitely reminds me the Mall in the 80’s. Grab some lunch at the food court and then later check out some of the kiosk and check out footlocker… good times
SOUNDS AWESOME!!!! Super atmosphere, like I'm in a car with the window closed, and a disco from the 80s in front of the house, where the front door just opened.... The sound of this remix is PERFECT.....
Nice idea, but I doubt it would have been like that. In a 1989 song it would never have been the final rap part, but they would have put a Europe-style guitar solo along half the song. There are many 80s pop songs with guitar solos, for example "I just died in your arms tonight" by Cutting Crew, "Touch me" by Samantha Fox, "Shout" by Tears For Fears, "Heaven" by Bryan Adams and the list can goes on.
Go check out this one also! Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran 80s remix!

This is actually more thematically consistent that the original, because you wouldn't have a cellphone in 1989.
Nor a payphone in 2010s
It’s a mobile not a cellphone ffs
Omg?! Ikr?! I mean, who uses payphone in 2014? Right? It was released that time...😂😂😂
No cellphone, a brick phone yes
I was gonna like but i see Dead Pool said this 5 days before you. Gotta support the OG. lol
This sounds like something you'll hear at a prom in the 80s.
This is true. ❤

I never lived in 80s but I feel like I belong there
Most people do Cuz That was the peak for modern music
I was born in 1991 but I always act like I'm an 80s guy
I believe I belong there too.
Ditto
This is more fitting. Because I can imagine there are more payphone in 80s.
There most certainly were! Hardly anyone had cellphones then, and the ones that did were mostly car phones.
Just the fact that the song is called payphone proves to me that it should’ve been released in the 80s.
Or the 1990’s. Or really, any decade in the 20th century.
you can’t change my mind, 80s was one of the best eras to live
I believe that, and I wasn't even born until the 90's 😅😆
The 80's looks/sounds awesome in many ways!
(But I also liked the 90's, I think the 80's and 90's have amazing music etc.)

Wish I was there honestly
Imagine, no internet, metal slides in direct sunlight, and $1.49 gasoline.
This is it guys. This is how memories which never even existed are planted in our heads.❤
Creating a Mandela effect
Shit, they Ghost in the Shelled me.
I can hear an interruption now- “Attention, K-Mart shoppers…”
OMG spot on!!
The fade to silence at the end is chef's kiss
I remember listening to this in the radio during the 80's. Such a good time.

This song was already more than a decade so it was already nostalgic, then it was made more nostalgic lol
80s and 90s are the best decades of everything. i was born on 1989, 90s are the best years as human being.
The 2000s were undeniably the best decade for television and technology. So no, not everything 😂
@@Pmccaff2009the 2000s was a great time to live in
same here, i always consider myself lucky, we got a bit of a 80s taste in the early 90s.. better than nothing
90s was the best
@@MegaFinalRound The 2000’s also had 9/11, the Iraq War, and a major recession. So no, they weren’t the best.
Electronics piano backing with retro beat damn
This gives me some kind of feeling that's hard to explain, sadness, happiness, and excitement combined
That's called nostalgia bro
Some good words are anemoia and hiraeth, saudade, kenopsia
Same here.
It's called as reminiscing in nostalgia.
The same feeling we all get from listening to Midnight City (I don’t even play GTA and I am still moved by it)
I remember that Adam Levine also took part in "We are the World" USA For Africa project sitting next to Lionel Richie.

But how about Wiz Khalifa

i think i read the headline in rolling stones in the 80s, this band along with a-ha and duran duran would start world tour together...

Cellphones existed, but only rich yuppies had them, and even then they only used them in their cars.
Minus the vocals sounding like they're down the hall, this is solid.
That was totally a thing a the time tho
Phil Collins used it a lot
@@WickedKnightAlbel "a the time tho"?

For some reason, this remix feels so relaxing.

Sounds how I’d imagine Maroon 5 could’ve eventually sounded vs. what Maroon 5 ultimately became.

Best band ever, is it only me or they seem to have inspired a new band called maroon something something?
I think it called the moron 5

You can hear this type of beat in The 1975 these days.

Where a student is talking on the payphone!
The reverb is so fitting
Man, reminds me of Starship's "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now"
Reminds me of REO Speedwagon's Kevin Cronin
Need the actual maroon 5 to react to this😮😮😮
Sounds more like 1985 than '89, but I dig the remix.
perfect EXCEPT should've done the fourth chord sustained bruh it adds SO much
damn, why this version so sweet. hope this available on spotify. loved it
I REALLY like this Version!!
...So nostalgic to listen to!
Thanks for sharing! :)
I love this cover, and I also love how you photoshopped 1980’s big hair on the members of Maroon 5!
This sounds heavenly, Cant get over. Transfers you from earth.
The vocals are a little bit *too* soaked in reverb
In 1985 I listened to this song, what a nostalgic memory 🥴
Those drums are so rich, it sound so good.☝🏻✨This remix gaves the vibe like you're walking on the stage in the formal attire/evening gown competition.
sir we need this on spotify
This song was playing at my high school's prom night in 1989 where I met my wife of 31 years. I'm 17 now with 4 kids and have never been happier.

the fade at the end! that's how you finish a great song!!! man now i wanna hear El Debarge sing this song 😊

I swear Maroon 5 makes so many hit songs but you never know it's by them
I remember listening to this song with my first girlfriend. R.i.P Adam Levine 😢❤ 1960-2006(overdose)
vocals are in the background, got the volume a little lower than usual. but nice job buddy pretty cool
IMO, it makes the music more raw and natural which many songs in the 80s sounds like that. Also, it's like an aesthetic as well in my opinion
that is the main point of the remix
This is nice .. 😅😂
something like a power ballad.
I'm at a payphone, trying to call home
All of my change I spent on you
Where have the times gone? Baby, it's all wrong
Where are the plans we made for two?
Yeah, I, I know it's hard to remember
The people we used to be
It's even harder to picture
That you're not here next to me
You say it's too late to make it
But is it too late to try?
And in our time that you wasted
All of our bridges burned down
I've wasted my nights
You turned out the lights
Now, I'm paralyzed
Still stuck in that time
When we called it love
But even the sun sets in paradise
I'm at a payphone, trying to call home
All of my change I spent on you
Where have the times gone? Baby, it's all wrong
Where are the plans we made for two?
If "Happy Ever After" did exist
I would still be holding you like this
All those fairy tales are full of shit
One more fucking love song, I'll be sick (oh)
You turned your back on tomorrow
'Cause you forgot yesterday
I gave you my love to borrow
But you just gave it away
You can't expect me to be fine
I don't expect you to care
I know I've said it before
But all of our bridges burned down
I've wasted my nights
You turned out the lights
Now, I'm paralyzed
Still stuck in that time
When we called it love
But even the sun sets in paradise
I'm at a payphone, trying to call home
All of my change I spent on you (oh, oh)
Where have the times gone? Baby, it's all wrong
Where are the plans we made for two? (Yeah)
If "Happy Ever After" did exist
I would still be holding you like this
And all those fairy tales are full of shit
One more fucking love song, I'll be sick (uh)
Now, I'm at a payphone
Man, fuck that shit
I'll be out spending all this money while you sitting 'round
Wondering why it wasn't you who came up from nothing
Made it from the bottom, now, when you see me, I'm stunning
And all of my cars start with a push of a button
Telling me had chances I blew up or whatever you call it
Switch the number to my phone, so you never could call it
Don't need my name on my show, you can tell that I'm balling
Swish, what a shame could have got picked
Had a really good game, but you missed your last shot
So you talk about who you see at the top
Or what you could've saw, but sad to say, it's over for
Phantom pulled up, valet open doors
Wished I'd go away, got what you was looking for
Now, it's me who they want, so you can go
And take that little piece of shit with you
I'm at a payphone, trying to call home
All of my change I spent on you (woo)
Where have the times gone? Baby, it's all wrong
Where are the plans we made for two? (Yeah, yeah)
If "Happy Ever After" did exist (oh, yeah)
I would still be holding you like this
All these fairy tales are full of shit
Yeah, one more fucking love song, I'll be sick (yeah)
Now, I'm at a payphone
I find these one among the best versions
