Great video... excellent, tips, too! I especially like the idea of "leaving the long plastic wrench on the mounting nut!" Can't tell you how many times I've just tossed a tool like that in the garbage, and regretted it, three years down the road!
Thank you, we have two sinks similar to what you have. Not knowing what you just explained we purchased two waterfall faucets 4-5 years ago and they are both leaking up on top where the handle connects. I was searching to find out on how to remove the cartridge and replace them but now we are going to replace both faucets! Thank you very much. Simple little things that can easily be over looked.
Bro i wish i would of seen this video before i had purchased them 9 months ago🤦🏼♂️.... but every thing you mentioned is so true.... my water sits there and creates mould, but we try to clean it as often as possible but it still builds back up and now i have a leak also from the top where the handle connects, but im just going to replace these . Thanks for the info it helped me make my decision whether i should just purchase different ones
My wife had to have one, and you do have to back the water valve down else it will really shoot forward. So then you have a fair bit less water coming out which takes longer to do its job. Good investigative journalism.
Good video but I wouldn't put thread tape on the flexie threads, the reason for this is the threads won't go in all the way and the o rings won't get an appropriate seal, and also if you read usage of thread tape it's meant to be used as a lubricant not a method of leak prevention. But hey if it works it works
I may have to cancel the one I just ordered and already have my eye on another that meets this criteria. Problem avoided, money saved. VERY helpful, thank you!
Those seem quite loud. Is that because your water pressure is turned down and the supply valves are hissing? I'm worried that if I have to turn down my supply valves as I don't have a huge sink, they'll be loud due to pressure constriction
I live in an apartment with this same exact faucet and it doesn't have the slant. I see all this white build up inside the faucet where the water comes out and it splashes also. I have OCD and I need to know how to clean this off. Do you have any suggestions? I've lived here for 2 years and it was a brand new apartment but this was this way when I moved in. Just not as bad.
Wish I had seen your video sooner as everything you have stated is on my tap I should have thought about it when I bought it but hay ho won’t make the same mistake again hopefully now I know what to look for. Good video
I was curious as to how deep are your sinks.? Great points I must say on the new faucet. I was debating whether to go to this style waterfall in a shallow sink because of Splash
Thanks for the video. I have a very similar faucet which has malfunctioned in a different way. The lever won't shut off the darned water and I have to turn it off at the stop valve every time I want to run water anywhere in the house. Is there a nut or something to tighten under the lever arm, and how do you get that lever arm off to look?
Where would someone find a plastic wrench like that? The house we bought has faucets similar to these and I'm trying to remove them but can't find that tool.
FYI, it's not mold, it's algae. And any waterfall faucet like this is going to get etching due to minerals in the water. All faucets do this, it just happens to be inside of it, so you never see it.
@@JustinCase380 its definitely not delta, you can search amazon for the term "waterfall faucet" tons of generic no name brands, take all the advice in the video
i dont mean to be so off topic but does anyone know a tool to log back into an Instagram account..? I somehow forgot the password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me
@Dennis Gunnar Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Those are for the LED lights that are inside of the waterfall. They tend to go bad or stop working after about a year. I really don’t like the light up stuff. It’s just not made to last.
i purchased this Model from eBay about two years ago but I know they were Being manufactured in China so depending on where the factory is selling them through now possibly Amazon but I would just do a Google search and click shopping waterfall faucet
This video is old so the link is not there anymore but those Fossetts that have a slope are being sold by many different people just search waterfall Fossett and look at the photo to make sure it is sloped
It’s not mold it’s calcium. I soaked a rag with vinegar and wrapped it up over night. The faucet was good as new.
Thanks for this.

It's no mold, it's built up Calcium and minerals from your ground water

This completely false, thread tape IS meant to create a seal to prevent water leakage. Always fact check yourself before you spread misinformation.
Could show a link in comments to the new you purchase. Would like to buy. Thanks

where'd you buy the newer/slanted one?
Useful tip. If they were redesigning it they could have simply angled the spout down a bit, and instead they tilt the whole tap?
I am remodeling my bathrooms can you recommend one in amazon. Thank you
Excelente video! My son installed a slopless faucet and it looks terrible, but I did not know why. You saved the day.

can you provide the vendor/link to the seller who you purchased the new one from please? I was ready to purchase and thanks to your video i didn't.
Unfortunately, I had that experience too and you are completely right
Can you tell us what make and model of the well designed tap you got there. Cheers.
Video would have been helpful with that info

Ive got a leaky tap, on my bath waterfall mixer, I can not work out, how to dismantle and fix? The tap are a side turner not a lift up style.
I bought a water fall faucet many years ago. We had to have the water lines changed because they didn’t match the normal ones

Brilliant advice 👏 Thanks so much.
Thank you! Just the video I was looking for. Saved my ass.
Thank you for the tips, first hand experience is the best!

Useful tips. Thanks from the UK.

You can buy a similar tool for under $10 at the hardware store in the plumbing section. Ask them and tell them your situation.
Why am I watching this, I don't even own a house. Still, good to know!

Certainly SMELLS like mold in mine.
Are they good for small sinks?
Very informative and helpful. Thank you Sir.😊👍🏾 What brand is the new faucet?
I'm pretty sure that blue/red logo under the handle (you can see it at 0:30) is a Delta thing

I was thinking about getting these but now I won't it's not worth added work for a basic thing like a tap.
I have to add a comment and say thankyou!! I didn't purchate that kind but was very tempted

Why do I have a wire connected to a box for batteries which 7:05 makes it impossible the way I see to Install without cutting the wire

I hate these things. If you have hard water the minerals collect where it is visible. Cleaning it is a pain.
Can't stand these taps. Replaced ours after a year and haven't looked back.
The hot water flows slowly on my faucet.
Turn it up under the sink
@@KooperSalmo I have 1/4 turn valves full pull. The issue was an internal mangled filter screen. Now I have to keep the supplies turned down
That is NOT mold ‼️
I replaced my waterfall 3 times in 4 years
CLR !!!!
very helpful
Wow! They use the cheapest crap then sell it to us as wonderful, so sick of it!!
And if you have hard water, it will look like shit in a year.
I hope you didn't have to buy a new one, those design flaws should be replaced by the manufacturer for free
i had to buy new ones because it drove me crazy
They aren't worth it
You drink tap water
I live in Lansing Michigan we have the Great Lakes our water here is identical to bottled water
@@KooperSalmo damn I heard Michigan natural water sources were super polluted with lead and industrial chemicals, there were huge lawsuits
