    My mothers dad had a doodlebug. It was made from an old Model T.It had two tyranny's in it. It had big truck tires on the rear and smaller ones on the front.This was the poor man's tractor during the 1920's and 30's. I never seen it run. It was at my uncles house where used it plow his large garden until he bought a tractor.Thanks for the memories!

      Your'e welcome for the memories. What you've described is generally what I think of when I hear the term doodlebug.

    It's been a while since I've been to Lebanon Fair and seen doodlebugs pull. They used to have a 3 or 4 foot chain on the front bumper and the rule was if the chain totally left the ground, they were disqualified. I saw in this video several that would have been DQ'd back then. That was for the operator's safety. Noticed that boat was pretty loaded with nothing but gravity holding on the blocks. They used to run a chain and binder lengthwise over the top to try to hold things together. I don't want to come across as cranky or critical, just prefer everyone to be safe.

    • @Trukluver
      @Trukluver  5 років тому

      I don't know , but I suspect that they may let them rear up higher to provide more of a spectacle for the viewers. As for the chain on the blocks, I agree, I think it would be a good idea.
