Thank you! Yeah, it was unknown to me as well--I grew up with the paperbacks of each of the books in the cycle and never thought about the possibility of short stories. There is in fact another short story, and it might be nice to read it soon. I recommend buying books from your local library turnover if you can. We have an org here called "Friends of the Library" which sells books for $1-5, and picking up collections from the 80s and 90s has really beefed up the breadth of my knowledge as I've read hundreds of tales!
@@thrillingsuspensefantasy I'd have thought this one would have nested nicely in the fifth book "Tales from Earthsea". Good tip on looking for library turnovers except I'd hope they aren't getting rid of too many treasures..
Thanks for this! I first read the Earthsea trilogy over 50 years ago, but had not heard of this tale. Also, if you are not familiar with it, check out Le Guin's story "The Ones who Walk Away from Omelas." Not Earthsea, but a good read.
Lots has been going on lately! I just recorded another and am editing it. Sorry for the gap in material, and heads up that TSF vol 3 is coming to Kickstarter in March.
Wonderful little story. Thank you for reading it. It's my first time stumbling upon your channel. I was pleasantly surprised by how well you read it out loud. Thank you.
with this lovely tale i have watched all of your vids at least once. now to wait for future ones and your books to arrive. and probably serval other authors covered here as well
Fantastic! I never heard of this but enjoyed the Earthsea trilogy when I was young, thanks for the reading!
We read this in our reading class in grade school. This story sparked my love of fantasy. My favorite author is still U.K. Le Guin.
Wow! How have I never heard of this? I thought there were only 6 books in the Earthsea Cycle... Thanks! That was great! Good reading of it as well!

I was suffering from substantive content deficit! Thank you! 🖖🏻
