- After surviving The Long Dark for 500 Days on Stalker mode...it's time to try the same on Interloper. There will be no firearms, looted hatchets or knives. We must make our own defenses and tools in order to survive this self-imposed challenge. It's time to see if we achieve victory or die a horrible death like everyone else on Great Bear Island.

The Long Dark Interloper is the hardest mode in Sandbox mode (The other difficulties are Pilgrim, Voyager and Stalker). The game describes that this mode is "For expert players looking for the ultimate wilderness Survival challenge."
In The Long Dark Interloper difficulty, you start with the most minimal resources, supplies are very scarce and Wildlife is rare, but it is more dangerous
- Interloper was a new game difficulty, introduced in v.364.
- The world becomes more hostile to you as you play. Global temperature drops, wildlife and fuel resources become more scarce, and Blizzards become more frequent.
- Apart from the Hacksaw and Hammer, which spawn rarely in the world, you need to create all your own improvised tools (ex. Hatchets, Knives, etc.).
- The best Clothing and Food items do not spawn.
- Wolves are more rare, but also more deadly.
- Wildlife becomes more rare over time.
- There are no firearms in the world.

Is anyone else screaming at the screen "Take the medication!" then breathing a sigh of relief when you remember (and actually give Will the dose!).
The condition of the bannock and pies (and I'm assuming other cooked items) deteriorate very quickly while in your inventory. I usually keep those items outside on the ground somewhere and preferably away from a fire.
I think that’s what I’ll be doing from now on. I just never really thought something like a flat bread would go bad so quickly from real life experiences with them.

Personally I always leave a cattail head and tinder plugs outside of a place that I have searched so that I can tell that I have been there. I hope that helps.
I’d recommend getting to cooking level 5 before your parasites are gone so you don’t have to worry about getting them again.

almost 2 months before getting a bedroll... well well well... i mean i guess you had the parasites too cuddle with :D
but that the bread almost instantly goes bad... man... especially since its only flour, water and oil... i somewhat doubt that its even worth making these... i mean if you really dont find something else and you cant harvest a carcass its okay-ish but still...
taking a victory lap for not burning water... i guess that shows what the character is made off... thin air...
good progress and once the parasites are gone you will finally be able to read... sometimes the game is weird and picky but hey, we still love the game. looking forward to the next one. keep up the great work
You just gotta wait to make the bannock until you've eat your other food, and eat it quick. Its more of lightweight travel food IMO than something you want to store, like meat
@@gamecheatmaster123 maybe youre right but for lightweight calories you also have cattails... they never go bad and have an amazing weight/calorie ratio... 2 or 3 days for a bread made with oil, water and flour seems a little too fast in my opinion...
Yeah. The parasites really threw me a curveball on my normal pace of character development. Soooo many books to read now at least. 😂
I never really did get making tinder completely pointless at lvl 3 I think it should after lvl 3 give 5% additional fire starting chance and 10% decrease to fire starting time or something like that
That does make more sense. I mean even if your a survival pro, you'll need tinder to start fires like these.
Could you play the update with those Mining Buildings etc. it looks quite interesting and I did not find this on your channel
Not in this series. This series didn’t get the updates added to this save game because it was created before the update of that region. Juggling another series would be too much with this one going. But once this is done…I’m probably a year 😂…I’ll start another and it will have that update plus anything else up to then too.
@@Accurize2You should have access to all of the updated maps unless you are running an older version. I believe the only thing that wouldn't impact you is scurvy.

With the reishi tea, do you have to drink the whole cup to count as a dose? Or can you drink half a cup and get 2 or doses from each one?

If you cant use the magnifying glass indoors then they need to let you light a torch with the magnifying glass. Since thats all he was doing when you used it on an indoor fire
I’ll dip outside, start a small fire of sticks, grab or light a torch from that and run it inside to light the indoor fire. Pretty much the same thing. 😉
If you'd get off yer keister and get to cooking level 5, you wouldn't have to worry about eating ruined food. 🤦♂

I checked the wiki out of curiosity and food poisoning chances are not listed for the newly added foods for the long dark. So take one for the team and see what a ruined bannock will do to you haha.
Maybe after I clear the parasites ailment. One illness at a time is a good policy me thinks.

I don't understand... Your food is at 22%, your hunger is at 25%, yet you allow the food to expire. Just eat it all.

@@Scott_03 eqting food prevents your health from dropping. Esting before you sleep allows you to heal. So you gain tsice the health per calorie by esting before you sleep.

It's because the aurora is active, I believe.
