What if he doesn’t mean literally the end of all earth time, and only the end of the time of anticus, or the end of a significant time within this time.?. I think that particular interpretation of end of time is reading our interpretation into it as you were suggesting we do not do. Also, biblically speaking, there are many antichrist. So for Antiochus to be one of them could make sense. There’s nowhere in scripture that really says that there is only one antichrist. That is an idea that was taken from the left behind series that isn’t biblically supported. In first John, it says there will be many antichrist. What are your thoughts on these points? The verse in 1 John that mentions "many antichrists" is 1 John 2:18 which states, "Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come." Antiochus could’ve been one of these “many” in history.
Thanks for your comment. It is possible, but since in the same section we have the appearance of the Angel Michael and the resurrection of the dead, I feel this forces us to interpret “time of the end” as the end of human history. Thanks for the great comment
Yess- we can learn 'much' from 'some' historical approaches, but regarding the future and particularly 'The time of the End' one is- sailing by dead reckoning - that is until- The Holy Spirit will show you- at The time! RE: Using the term- 'The end of the world'? Yess. the KJ does use this term, but I find it inaccurate and certainly a turn-off to the non- Christian! Instead, I use- 'The end of the Age' which is a much more accurate and 'encouraging' description because after this Age.... Begins another- The Millennial Age...then after this comes- New Heavens & earth.... so we do see that even Daniel's description in 12.4 'time of the end' is preferable- I think! Now consider: Remember that at this time ALL Prophesies involve Israel and have their barring On Israel i.e. Daniel's 4 beasts AND that- Israel and particularly The 'Jew' is involved with (Not Anti-Christ- but Anti-Messiah!) as The Apocalypse revolves around- Israel- Look at you News today! Remember Messiah's personal prophetic exclamation to The Jews- '(Mat.23.38- You shall not see me again to You learn to say- 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of YAHWE' and as his Real name is- "Yeshua"- Aramaic & "Yehoshua"- Hebrew and Both means- YAHWEH's Salvation- literally is his name! Here- The Christian too will Learn this exact same thing- See (Jeremiah 16.18- and know that this prophet's name really is- YirmiYAH- YAHWEH Will Rise!) RE: Dan. 11.- it is A Building Up to fulfill the overall Apocalypse as- 11:40 ""And at the time of the end...." Here I also highly suggest you take the prophesies of- (Mat. 24.- /Mk. 13,; & Lk. 21.- into consideration as these also reference both Daniel & Revelation and give us The "signs" that steadily Build up to the revealing of 666 & what is to happen and culminate into Thy Kingdom Come (And yess- The un-repentant Jew is ever present- for Mat.23.39 Has To Be Fulfilled!) Dan.11.40 is Not talking about 666 here- but some of The Other Players in Revelation! The time of the is not the end of the world but rather the demise of Daniels people in 70 AD. There is no antichrist in Daniel 11 because that spirit which denies the Father and the Son can only come after the time of Christ. Anti christ is not one person.
