- Alright, I might have gone too far in a few places. But damn it, it's finally done! Great War from Sabaton with Star Wars the clone wars. Yes, it has some faults, but I'm satisfied with the end result.

It may have started as a kids show, but like all good things given time it evolved into something more.

I could never take the show seriously since It's just a endless slugfest of the good guys constantly winning. Plus, Greivious is all but useless, same for Ventress, the tactical droids and even Dooku. There's no ebb and flow to the war. No sense that the Republic or Jedi can lose. The closest we get to a genuine loss is Felucia and even then everyone gets out fine. I mean, if our heroes never lose, why should I care?

And I'm talking about losing battles. Like I said, the ONLY genuine loss the Republic suffered was Felucia when Anakin, Ahsoka and Obi-Wan were forced to pull-out. Every other "loss" the Republic suffered was temporary and the Republic always won either at the end of that episode or later in the show. Or it was insignificant to the war. Five's death for example was, while somewhat emotional, insignificant to the war as a whole. The good guys lost nothing but a single clone and the bad guys gained nothing exept sealing a leak to the grand plan. The whole mind control chips plot was ridiculous anyways and proved Dave had written himself into a corner by making the clones too human.

The "What have I become" line with Anakin's vision of Vader gave me chills as well

In the Clone Commando series, one of the Mandalorian trainers would keep track of each of the squads he trained and would recite the fallen soldiers name each day so they were not forgotten. He also built a memorial to the Clones who fought and died in the Clone Wars and buried in it the identifying chips from their armor.

Even more true when you remember that the clones just as the soldiers in WW1 were just thrown into the meat grinder until they won the battle

Furthermore hitler purged any rival such as communists and more moderate factions of his government such as the sa or Brownshirts the nazi party paramilitary division.
@@nwg869 Technically the Brownshirts didn't get purged for being moderate so much as they were because Hitler didn't have as much control over them as he wanted. And the politicking of rivals within the Nazi party.

(Quick aside: I saw Sabaton live a few weeks ago and it was as epic as I imagined. They had a friggin tank on stage with them!)
I saw them a few days ago in Chicago. The show sold out, the front row was packed, and the crowd got hyped. Best concert I've been to in a long time.
Saw them in Portland 3 weeks ago, an absolutely amazing show. Hammerfall was great as well

@@Jomexe yeah we will get to see order 66 by the looks of it but it should round everything off Ashoka, Anikin, Rex, Obi Wan all hopefully will get the send off they deserve originally there was meant to be 8 seasons I believe but that was before it got cancelled.

Show is for all ages, young kids to adults. It is part of the magic of the show, the show is appealing to every age. The Clone Wars truly is a masterpiece.

went into this video expecting just some combat scenes with sabaton on the background but every clip is perfectly chosen both to fit the rythm and the lyrics of the song simply amazing

Can we get “The Last Battle” now with the Siege of Mandalore? The whole thing really made me think of the battle for Castle Itter. The Republic and the Mandalorians team up to fight against Maul and his Mandos, it’s perfect.

@@Nothing-1w3 Ah... Well, multiple reasons I suppose. For starters, college takes up a lot of time, and lots of exams too. I also kind of made the mistake of jumping from one project to another, alongside not being really motivated as a result. I've got an unfinished Midway remake, a Final Solution remake, an Umbara with Angels calling your name, and then the season 7 with the Last Battle vids in the works. Been trying to finish that last one, but it's hard to get decent clips. The ones I found have a few glitches, but I think I'll use them regardless of that. But yeah, trying to get back into it.

The clone wars as a whole is pretty much the great war with a sprinkle of WW2 and Vietnam added in there for good measure.
The Galactic civil war is nothing but WW2 through and through.

If you haven't seen it by now, I *_HIGHLY_* recommend Umbara. It is the best of The Clone Wars, if you ask me.

He done the song revolving around the clones if that's of any interest to you. Though I wouldn't mind seeing that song applied to the Halo universe either.
Insert Name Here I love his work that revolves around the Clones, Covenant, and all of the other things he has done. I just think that, that song would tie in really well with the Human-Covenant war which lasted 30 years.

I actually considered making a video like that, but there's already one on UA-cam that's really great, so I didn't think of doing one myself. However, now that I've gotten a bit better at editing, I might make the video. For now though, I'm planning on doing a Halo and Sabaton Seven Pillars Of Wisdom video.

The game is great now unfortunately we wont be seeing ahsoka or ventress which is sad because finale of season 7 would be perfect time to drop them

Seldom do I ever enjoy these kinds of videos, but this one stands out. The clips were clearly chosen with care and definitely portray the emotions that come out of the scenes which are complemented excellently by Sabaton's song.
No doubt you have respect for both of the creators and pieces and that shows in the video.

So, When concept artists were working on The Sequel Trilogy(Specifically The Last Jedi) one of the design philosophies was that The Original Trilogy was World War 2 and The Sequel Era was Cold War Conflicts like Korea or Vietnam. If we apply this idea retroactively, that makes The Clone Wars World War I, aka The Great War. And I think that tracks pretty well, seeing as the Clone Wars was a big violent war that caused major shifts in every facet of society and set the stage for authoritarian rule, along with Technology that was common place in the Second World War being developed during the clone wars(Like Star Destroyers, Hyperdrive Enabled Starfighters, Super Weapons, etc. etc.)
I feel this video perfectly encapsulates the song. The only way to make a music video of it is to capture the grand scale of the War, by showing the various fronts being fought, in the air, the sea, the land, the brutalized fields, the thousands dying every day. This video that showcases the conflict of the C Lone wars is befitting of the song. A galactic scale war is a truly horrifying concept I don't think many people realize.
