Star Wars The Clone Wars - (Sabaton: Bismarck)

- Upon hearing the new song I instantly thought of the Malevolence, and apparently I wasn't alone. Turns out the creators really did get inspired by the Bismarck to come up with the Malevolence. I do apologize for some of the bits that don't really seem to fit, but it gets quite difficult to use three episodes that have a lot of dialogue in it. But hey, that's the Clone Wars for you.
So yeah, here's star wars the clone wars with Sabaton's newest song Bismarck, in honor of the Malevolence.

I understood that reference xD
@@generalofchaos5174 I didn't please explain.
@@teamcybr8375 The Bismarck's rudder was damaged and the ship sent out a message to HQ “Ship unmanoeuvrable. We shall fight to the last shell. Long live the Führer”.
This comment is a parody of that message.

The orders from High Command: FIGHT BACK, HOLD YOUR GROUND!

Dave Filoni confirmed in an interview that the Story of the Malevolence is inspired by the Bismarck.
Admiral Bismarck I think that’s kinda obvious already, if you already know the Bismarck’s story
That is cool! I love that.
Makes so much sense!!!
No surprise there. The stories are pretty similar.
yeah no duh, most of starwars was inspired by WW2... i mean the nazi salutes in Starwars... Stormtroopers.. germany had a solider called "sturmtruupen" so.. yeah
The malevolence was Star Wars Bismarck, and went down fighting, was a terror of space, destroyed good Ships, and than crippled and hanged up on.
Ganged up on I mean don’t know where banged came from
Heil Heytra!
It was a typo. We all make one sometimes.
the whole Malevolence-Story was inspired by the Bismarck-Story
The Malevolence was destroying entire fleets so it's Bismarck on Super Steroids

The Malevolence is the bismark, Y wings are the sword fishes, and plo's destroyer is the hood.

Ay lmao that makes sense
except the hood sank? Lol
Spud Bud Plo’s Venator did “sink”, in Star Wars sink means blown up
Obi-wan's venator is the hood.
@@realmario979 No. It would be more like King George V.
The fact that Malavelonce was inspired by Bismarck makes so much sense. Both of them are giant warships and cruiser hunters. They both caused fear when their enemies learnt about them. And they both had unexpected ends. And they had mostly unknown sister ships.
What were Bismark's sister ships. I know of Malevolence's ones but what about real life?

Umbara should be with Camouflage.

Why am I just now putting it together that the Malevolence was supposed to mirror the Bismarck?
The song helps. But there is a lot of similarities to the Bismarck and this hunk of Doom. Sadly any ship Grevious is one is doomed to go boom when anakin and obi wan are near
@@Darqshadow Not in Clone Wars. TCW Grevious is a cheesy saturday morning villain.
@@josiaharaki7310 Oh piss off. 2003 grievous was retardedly OP. He made sense in an Anime show that was always kinda meant to be semi-canon, and could prioritize cool fights over story or logic. But in a show like The Clone Wars, that would have sucked ass.
@@teamcybr8375 Taking away the 2003 cartoon, Grievous is still much more horrific than in TCW. Several Comics and Novels portray him as a very legitimate threat instead of the Cartoon Villain that TCW portrayed him as for half the show.
@@hawkticus_history_corner That can mainly be traced to the novelization of Episode 3, which portrayed him as ludicrously powerful, far more than we actually witnessed in the film. And while I do love the more dangerous version of him, following that version of him would make him an impossible villain to write around. He could literally walk straight through an army of jedi without a scratch.
Oh man i listened to that song yesterday and i knew you would make a tribute using this song to the Malevolence.
Keep up the good work man. Sabaton lives again!
"And order came in that would change the Clone Wars. It was direct and to the point. The Negotiator heard it and turned its Turbolasers towards Coruscant and the Resolute heard it and Prepared its Y-Wings. The Air waves were thick with this message: Sink The Malevolence, *Sink The Malevolence* , *SINK THE MALEVOLENCE* " - Extra History, Parody by me
Both, the Bismarck and the Malevolence got more firepower than any outer Cruiser and dies outnumbered and hitten by swift bombers. Both learned on the hard way, its nearly Impossible to shot them down before they drop there load. Rest in Peace pride of the Kriegsmarine.
I'm surprised more people didn't know about the connection to the Bismark already.
Pclone 501 I’ve been interested in WW2 forever and a Star Wars fan for almost as long and I’m surprised I never put it together.
Surprising few people know of the Battle of the Denmark Strait and the Hunt for Bismarck... Especially in the US. I only found out about Bismarck when I took it into my own hands to learn about the WWII Navy.

The timing at 3:44 was amazing, well done
Yes, yes it was
Nostalgia + Sabaton = HE WAS MADE TO RULE THE WAVES ACROSS THE SEVEN SEAS!!!!
Both Malevolence and Bismark were both superships tasked with disrupting supply lines/medical stations. Both destroyed a flagship of a fleet, both were crippled by torpedo bombers, and both were seemingly impossible to conventionally destroy. The only difference was that the Malevolence nearly got away and was destroyed while hyperspacing into a moon while Bismark was either sunk by the last British torpedo run or was scuttled by the crew and couldn't escape.
"either sunk by the last British torpedo run or scuttled by the crew and couldn't escape"
I'm gonna guess it's both
@@shanedoesyoutube8001, well there’s quite a bit of debate about what actually sunk the ship. Because the last torpedo run could have crippled the ship enough to cause the crew to sink it themselves to avoid the British getting their hands on it. Or, the torpedoes sunk the ship and the crew were forced to abandon ship. I’m leaning more towards the torpedos mostly because only a handful of the Bismarks crew managed to escape and survive. Which, if they scuttled the ship more crew would have survived.
@@hetzer5926 Usually when a ship is scuttled very few of the crew stay in order to perform it while the rest get away
@@KaiserStormTracking, well considering that out of 2,000 sailors only 115 survived, I’m pretty sure they were forced to abandon ship rather than sinking it themselves.
@@hetzer5926 What I suspected
Plo Koon's fleet is the Hood and Prince of Whales, The Y-Wings are the Swordfish, the medical ships are the allied convoys, and Obi Wan's Ships are the King George V and the Rodney.
Not exact of course, just similair
Yeah, unfortunately SW really doesn't have a Rodney equivalent. The Rodney was well armed and tough enough to go toe to toe with Bismarck, but she was too slow and not very maneuverable compared to Bismarck.
Bismarck can be thought of as one of the first Fast Battleships. There were ships like the Rodney that had the firepower and armor, but not the speed. Then there were ships like the Hood that could keep up with her speed, but couldn't really stand in a fight too long with her.
Anyone else imagine the effectiveness of the CIS navy if they loaded bombs onto ships and fighters and programmed the droids to kamikaze?
Like... jedi causing trouble?
Here comes an intergalactic lightspeed cruiser missile straight into the coruscant jedi temple. Lol

I'm a history buff so when this was released originally on cartoon Network I knew it was basically starwars version of Bismarck that fun thing about starwars there's alot of events that are inspired by real life the best example I can think of besides this is the Umbara campaign that's pretty much Vietnam in starwars overall cool to see the song put to this ship
Ah, brother, I see you made it off of Vraks!
Already this song isn't even a week old ! But its a great vid
Hi, welcome back.
I know this isn't the first time you've watched this.
That flagship of the CIS fought valiantly.
One of Sabaton's best songs. And one of the best TV shows to ever come out.
Primo Victoria is my favorite
0:56 this is beautiful. I've started at it for 5 hours now
It was inevitable.
And, yes. The idea of the Malevolence was indeed inspired by the Bismarck.
We might as well call Plo Koon's Venator "The Hood"
Killer Orca only difference is that her magazine didn’t explode.
@Marcus Jenson It's Ion cannon did however.
After learning about the story of the Bismarck, this has easily become one of my top favorite new songs, and I just love the Malevolence even more
Never seen The Clone Wars, but this was an amazing take, and very well edited to the tempo of the song.
This actually fits surprisingly well
The Malevolence got more kills than Bismarck did.
I thought i was the one who thought the Malevolence was the SW Bismarck.
Also the Malevolence episode have many references to the episode 4, like the fear of the ship and the firing scene.
Genius. Simply genius, General.
Lots of music videos like this don't have greatvediting, but this is fucking amazing, like at 3:43 when the 3 Venators jump out of hyperspace to the beat.
Clone Wars + Sabaton? Yes please!
An excellent choice of music and show
One of your most powerful works

The only cannon super weapon that made sense to me
3:44 nice touch having the republic cruisers come in at the same time as the beat.

MAY STAR WARS THE CLONE WARS MUSIC VIDEO RISE ONCE MORE
I loved this movie back when I was a little kid of 7 or so :) TYVM for this!
I literally just realized that the malevolence is based on the Bismarck after all these years.
This song is absolutely perfect for the Malevolence!
Well it was about time you made a tribute of Bismarck and Malevolence. Nice job man, well executed.
I just realized that the malevolence storyline was exactly the same as the story of the Bismarck.
1: they both destroyed a major fleet all by themselves
2: they both were disabled by bombers
3: then they were easily destroyed after being disabled.
Except that Bismarck only destroyed a ship though
However the Bismarck had company(Prinz Eugen)
I have listened to this song no shit for like 8 hours plus on loop
Hello there , General of Chaos!
Thank you for great video about Malevelonce 😉
2:11 The General is such a great commander and this song is wonderful keep up the good work!
Just like Günther Lutjens who commanded the Bismarck on it’s final voyage (he had sucessfully commanded earlier sorties and had gained fame for his intelligence)
from the mist a shape , a ship is taking form and the silence of the space is drifting in to a storm. sighn of power, show of force. stop the anchorage fields, battleship ploting its course.pride of a aliance, a beast made of steel. Malevolence in motion. king of the space. he was made to rule the spaces acros the seven parsecs. to lead the warmachine. to rule the space and lead the droids marineeeeee (even if the Malevolence is the Bismarck of star wars, this song fits for only one ship(my opinion). i tried my best to adapt)
He was made to rule the Galaxy?
@@eloczydwa8721 the ocean in star wars is the space and Malevolence is not a ship who can navigate from a galaxy to an other, so yes
The malevolence is actually inspired by the Bismarck
You could have "King of the void" instead. Sounds better than "of the space". Same goes for "He was made to rule the spaces across the seven parsecs", instead having it "he was made to rule the void" or "voids".
You did a good job man
FROM THE NEBULA A MIST A MONSTER IS TAKING FORM!
Who knew that star wars and sabaton would fit so well?
0:33 replace the venator with a American or British destroyer and the medical transports with supply ships and now you have what would have happened if the Bismarck reached the Atlantic.
