The older generation Volvo S60 and V60 get very mediocre reviews from some professional reviewers but look at owner reviews on Autotrader to get a better understanding of how much they are loved by actual owners, not just someone who is testing one and comparing it against the typical German fare. S60 D5 R Design owner here. Couldn't agree more. Owned loads of second hand cars and I just can't bring myself to sell mine. With the anti roll bar and stiffer suspension it's even pretty chuckable around bends. Just gone past 171'000 and obviously I've changed parts due to wear and tear but it drives like new with not a single rattle to be heard. He loved his car so much that he didn't want to sell it to an inexperienced owner. Thanks for the comment. Looks are subjective, rear seat space is fine for me so maybe you are hauling bigger people than I have been? I don't agree the interior looks cheap. Dated, perhaps, but not cheap. What excites me about this car is the performance from the 2litre diesel and especially the torque, the technology that works (adaptive headlights, adaptive cruise etc), awesome standard sound system and the best seats of any car I have been in. For me, if handling isn't your main concern, it competes with the Germans and exceeds them in quite a few ways.
You'll be spending at least the double amount of money keeping the old german cars on the road but hey, climate control in the back is really worth it..
@@ccraig4399 i have used german car for over 5 years and it cost me ~£300 over this period :D so, yeah, it matters :D
S60 has never had a powered tailgate
I think you are right actually. The button on the latest generation S60 actually just locks the car if you press before closing. The V60 does have one available.
V60 and S60 break like mad, from pressure sensors to egr to dpf to ebrake, door locks, you name It. Worsr car experience I ever had.
Interesting feedback, thanks. I've had a V40, S60 and 2 V60s over a 10 year period and had virtually no issues with them at all.
😂 u must of got bad Juju im US neighbor and mine is perfected no issues 44ks US Miles, 2018 s60…i dont drive much but its great for me

Well, it obviously depends on whether it has the Ford DriveE power train, or the Volvo 5cyl.
