Toriyama loved designing vehicles. I'm so happy there is a game to give respect for his vehicle designs. Even back in Dr. Slump and Dragon Ball Z you can look back and tell he put a lot of effort into cars, bikes, flying vehicles, spaceships. RIP, Toriyama san.
I loved Dr Slump since I watched the OG anime on VHS back in 1993 when I was 4 years old, it's one of my favourite anime that was dear to me alongside Dragonball

I need a blue dragon 4k remake. That game was amazing, and this one might overtake it since I waited so long for that void to be filled all these years. lol
It was a slow start, it treacles out the gameplay mechanics quite slowly but I think when you’ve done the first dungeon in that crashed ship that’s when it really opens up with side quests and letting you really go out and explore and upgrade and customise your vehicles. I did enjoy the start but I’m really enjoying it a lot more now that I feel I have more gameplay options.
As a massive fan of Dragonball Z and hearing Akira Toriyama passing really broke me so much, nd then playing the demo of Sandland and knowing that it was gonna be his final Project I had to pre order this in honour of him 😢🙏❤️. This game looking as good as it does...NOT having a photo mode, should be a crime. They should be in court for doing this to me. How is there no photo mode!? Everything looks so cool!
I remember being interested in this series when it was just a Manga and thinking "I wish it was an anime or a game or something, it looks so neat" and then all the media franchise push for Sand Land was announced, so yeah I think I manifested this game into existence. Also the reason you might have felt like the game was going to end and it just kept going is probably because it was the ending of the manga and what happens afterwards is the extra arc created for the anime.
Read Manga years ago always wondered and wish what would toriyama do with it if he had more time do with it at the end, I hope this game does it justice
I was immediately interested in Sand Land because it was obviously a work of Akira Toriyama (RIP). Dragon Ball is my favorite anime franchise of all time but I've been wanting to check out his other works and Sand Land looks so cool and unique but idk if I should play the game first or watch the anime. Definitely getting the game though, looks fun.
The Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is probably the closest design and narrative wise no surprise since it's also Akira Toriyama from story to art as well. But that one is exclusively hand to hand, Dragon Quest games have similar story beats and of course his art again but turn based Blue Dragon is also Akira Toriyama. Similar to the vehicle stuff is hard closest I'd say is likely Metal Max Xeno also set in a desert but it's older and turn based this is likely the more polished version of that.
I bought the manga shortly after Toriyama's passing. I want thengame too but told myself I can't until I finish the book. Same rule for alan wake 2. I love the first game and bought the novelization.
I'm in the same boat. I thought the demo was straight-up bad. I do think it was just a presentation problem though. The game itself looks like it's better than the demo leads you to think.
@@dportnovI get the feeling they were too worried about spoiling things especially for something that had a manga out for years. Not only did the demo have zero story beats, even the trailers vastly undersell just how many vehicles and parts are in this game.

In terms of graphics, it's good. It's nicely rendered. The environments and characters reminded me of DBZ world but my biggest gripe about this game is the enemies A.I. level of difficulty in battle. Most enemies A.I. under normal difficulty is poor, to say the least. Enemies tend to just stand there and let you hit them. Enemies do attack but they do it in a "take turn" alternate pattern. I get a sense that this game is for kids but even so, the enemies A.I. shouldn't be so predictable.
