The power steering fix was sick ..before I knew too much bout these electric PS racks I bought 2 different ones to try and fix my 340i with no luck . Finally a bmw wrecking yard sold me one and coded it for me .but YA sweet work around!

Could be a faulty sparkplug. Can be confused with a lifter tick type sound. The top of the sparkplug becomes loose and taps gets worse as engine warms up.
I run a 5W-40 for my n55 335 in canada... it works no problem at all... 5W 30 & 5 W 40's are what the BMW inline 6 used from the beginning...so that is you best oil choice...

Yo, I got the same ticking metal clinking noise on my B48, it’s completely normal I’ve been to BMW and did a compression test and the car was fine. Happy to send you a video of what mine sounds like
Considering that it does not tick when starting up, but during warm up/idle, i would say that it is the evap purge valve that cycles at warm up. B58 evap valves are known for being noisy

It's so hard to watch these because I also have a 2023 M240i in the same color. I'll try to listen for that noise next time I drive and see if mine makes it near the oil pan

Hey I had the same kinda sound on my b58 I bought a 2017 440i from copart and there was no damage and it was listed as flood but had run and drive on it and when I got it there was no water anywhere not in the carpets no where not and I found out it was the pvc cap that broke so easy fix 20$ and all the smoke and everything was fixed like that and codes but then when I just started driving it I heard that same noise almost and I thought the same thing and I checked it and I checked if there was any faults but none and my friend said drive it for awhile and see if anything pops up later on but nope it went away slava bogu!! and I was so confused but hey I guess it’s just a bimmer thing🤷♂️

Try checking the Polly’s on the belt, spin em when u take off the belt, you’ll hear one that’s probably rusted and crooked to spin
14:01 use metal filler or try to braze it with the lower temp aluminum brazing sticks. Then sand and fill as normal.

With BMW some of the features take driving a few miles to sort themselves out and realise there's no fault, TPMS is a prime example, will take a few miles to recheck pressures after a reset.
Wondering if it was the chain or pulleys making noise. Saw you checked the pump so I threw that to the trash.
Didn’t think about neutral/gear and checking transmission fluid level. Too bad it didn’t work.
I guess we will have to see what it is.
Man I miss when the OG car UA-camrs weren’t as ballin as they are now. Don’t get me wrong their success is incredible but from a viewer perspective watching these dudes make shit happen on a much lower budget. Makes the builds and the parts they use more unpredictable! This is so sick guys!!

Just throw in liquid molly Ceratec. I would run a slightly thicker oil due to how hot it is in Florida. I would say 10w 40w

Sorry just found out it had a broken pan....
We had multiple cars like that and after a week or a day of driving the motor finally knocked.... people running it on dry thats just it, the head could of starved....
But whats interesting to me is when you checked rod lower bearings did you check the uppers?
We also had a case where there was an elipse on the crank...
But it is sad.. two last expansive projects we bought as " engine running" and it arrived with siezd up motor, and another with a huge hole in the oil pan.....

Check your MAF sensor or air intake sensor, if the wrong amount of air and gas is being sent it will cause misfires rod knock all types of stuff like this my friend torqued my spark plugs with an impact drill and caused my engine to misfire make lots of noises. My point being you could have bad coils plus or injectors unless you already replaced them all.
If it was bad there would be a code for it
Headlight module has to be programmed by BMW or put the original module on the new headlight.

If u still care about the noise, run the car for a few seconds without the V-Belt...😅 may some pully or aggregate get some issue :)
That's why I hate the autel system... make sure you have the yellow ethernet cable and the ethernet to USB adapter

On some hyundai motors they have like rod knock noise if you put 5w40 instead of 5w30 oil in them i had 2 vehicles in for diagnostic it seamed like bad motor but it was just too thick of oil.

Fix it completely put some miles on it and if the engine blows fix it or sell it … sometimes you gotta fully break the problem to find the real problems
I seen a video when I guy had rid knock and he took it to someone else who had a bmw wit rod knock and they both had

i believe the oil pans hitting on the subframe. i would double check out the subframe. to see if its bent or not. i think the engines fine maybe its hitting on something thats making rattling noise

So for these new cars, control units have to be replaced by the dealer, as a request to replace a control unit has to be made, and then approved by BMW NA. And if the control unit was ever encoded to another car, it won't work without some "unapproved" software changes.
