I was in Nashville once to play at the Grand Old Opry and promote an album that I had played on. We had a day off and walked into Ernest Tubb’s and found our record for sale there it was quite a thrill.

So important to let the young people know about Ernest Tubb and his generosity and legacy. Proud to say my own vinyl is on his shelves for sale! ✨🎶⚡️

Ernest Tubb was very instrumental 🎸
In giving the side musicians the credit they deserve - Ernest Tubb was a true country gentleman with a whole lot of Soul and a Heart of Gold

This is a fantastic video. I grew up listening to this music and I even sang a few Ernest Tubb songs with my country band in the late 90's, early 2000's. Love this- thank you Gibson. I may need to take a trip out to see the new Gibson store and this record store. R.I.P. Ernest Tubb- and "Thanks A Lot"

I really love Gibson TV. This one especially, because I started hangin' out at the 2 local record stores when my allowance provided the opportunity. I later got a janitor job at a local country radio station KTRB and found a treasure trove of demo 45's while cleaning out the attic there. I remember listening weekly to The Maddox Brothers and Rose played in the station studio live, before I worked there. Music is always in my head and the music of the artists Ernest Tubb gave opportunities to is always in my heart.

Too Cool! I worked in a Record Store when I was younger. Listen to music all day, sell music all day and talk to others about music all day. You meet the best people in Record Stores...That's where I met my wife!

I love these on-destination The Scene series Gibson is doing. Mark does a great job as always - laid back and casual while simultaneously respectful and reverent, curious and inquisitive - and it is fascinating hearing details about these famous venues and locations in American Music History. Thanks, Gibson for carrying the torch.

Great video, as always! When I was in Nashville in 2019, I made a point to visit this store and buy some records. I could have gotten into so much trouble with the amount of great records they have! That, along with the items on display from legends (including some great Loretta Lynn stuff!) and the amazing staff make this a must visit while in Nashville! Plus you may run into someone famous here - just check out the walls while you're there!

Great video, never knew of the store or its significance before, but I am educated now. Great that Gibson make this type of content and dont see it necessary to use it as a blatant advert for their wares. There has been some negativity around the company (and Mark) in the last few years, but this and more content like it can only be good for them in the long run. 👍

It's an absolute crime that the Ernest Tubb Record Shop was allowed to be sold off to real-estate developers, who then closed this legendary landmark down. The city of Nashville should have stepped up and purchased the business and building, which has been part of what made Nashville the country-music capital of the world, and a real must-see place for tourists. The city of Nashville should have stepped up and purchased the business and building.
    What a loss of country
music history, what a missed opportunity......
    AND a crying damned shame.🎻🎸

I just visited Nashville and I was extremely sad to discover that this store has closed. I'm shocked that this was not designated landmark status due to the history of this space. I'm hoping that the new owners do right by this space and don't just turn it into another fake honky tonk.

The Ernest Tubb Record Shop is slated to close forever in the spring of 2022. The Shop is being treated like a piece of common real estate. WTF!!! America has no respect for it's own history anymore. Everything's about cheap ass dollar bills. We will regret this someday-but it will be too late.
