What a wonderful documentary! You guys that work with these traumatized dogs are angels....May God Bless you, your organization and all the fur babies! Happy endings....🙏🏼❤️🍀☺️
That’s what a lot of people go through too. My compassion and empathy goes to all beings who’ve endured so much, but most people don’t see past their learned aggression. For example, did you know that foster youth are more likely to be targeted for sex trafficking by predators because “no one cares or will miss those kids”. Talk about being beaten, molested, abused and then being targeted by even more abuse. Then people wonder why over 80% of foster youth end up in prisons.
i love the way they are soft and gentle in every way of communications with the dogs. amazing too watch, and so important in interaction with fearful dogs.
I'm struggling to find the words to describe how I feel watching the fantastic work you do with these terribly abused dogs. Firstly I had tears of sadness at the abuse and how affected the dogs were. Awful to see our beautiful friends living in extreme fear for so long. Your vision and realisation of your dream to rescue our dear friends to give them a life worth living. Outstanding. Then of course tears of happiness followed seeing the dogs blossom into happy, less fearful dogs who were ready and willing to be adopted by good people. You make the world a better, more hopeful and happier place to live. I can't thank you enough xx
Thank you for showing how important patience is while handling a traumatised dog! It makes me sad to see new dog owners give up on their rescues just 1 or 2 weeks after adoption, because they underestimated what it means to train and socialise a dog with a sad backstory... What did these people think? That the dog will be oh so thankful and therefor function within days? My dog needed 3 months to really show the first bonding signs with me!! 3 months! Some even need longer! - THANK YOU for not giving up on these poor souls
I wrote the Governor of Missouri about puppy mills and Never got a reply. I think the states enjoy the tax money they get, and don't want to spend money on ending the mills. I bet ASPCA or other groups would help if they'd just innact the right laws. Locals need to push their governments to do something, it has happened and some laws have been made cause of people acting on it.
To see those 2 beautiful malamutes start to play together was so heart-warming, then seeing that they got adopted together was just too precious. I'm so glad they were able to stay together. Thanks to all the hard work these ladies put into helping these gorgeous but tragically hurt dogs break free from their horrible past, you all did absolute wonders.
This rehabilitation is PERFECT- after what these loving feeling emotional dogs have been through w no fault of there own- This is beautiful- every single dog was a just dying to b loved wanted dog
I’ve helped a really redzone collie recently and she’s doing great, so this really makes me happy that people are starting to try and help the dogs who need it
I wish more people could see that as it of the puppy mill. Actually I would love to see a full length documentary about the ASPCA rescuing from one of these places so people see what they really look like.
@Wanda Manske if you can't afford to pay for the adoption, then maybe wait until you can. You also need to be able to pay for vet bills, food, training classes and enrichment. The adoption fee goes towards feeding, caring and vet expenses, so please don't say that rescues are asking for too much, and if you can't pay for basic care, then your not ready for a dog.
It is wonderful what you are doing. My first rescue dog was Luke. He was labeled as a fear biter. He would just curl up in a tight ball when I brought him home. I would just sit next to him for hours and we would take long walks several times during the day. Finally after several weeks he started to wag his tail and I knew we were making progress. Luke was 5 years old when he became a member of our family and had a scar around his neck. He became one of the smartest and most loyal dogs I have ever owned. He learned sign language to help herd our birds into the coops. He was great with our horses, our chickens, turkeys, guineas and cats. He was wonderful with children and other dogs. He went from being an untouchable dog to one who would jump on my lap every time I sat down. He went on trail rides, float trips, bus rides and traveled with us. He lived to be 18 years old. On his last evening before his death he couldn’t stand anymore but still crawled to try to be outside the bathroom door. I could hear him falling and then heard him crawling to try to be near me. This traumatized dog who somebody decided to throw away was so intelligent and so loyal and I am so lucky to have had in my life. I didn’t think I would ever get over losing my best friend but I adopted again because of him. I now have another rescue dog in our family and she has many things she is terrified of ( men, loud noises, walking into a room and anything with wheels) but she is making progress and blossoming. She now enjoys car rides, long walks and using her back feet to move my husband over so she has more room on the couch. What a transformation already in less than 4 months. Rescue dogs are the best. Give them a chance they are truly worth it and give so much back.
Thank you so much for helping these animals I can see how much love goes into these animals. If you can donate as much as you can afford help save these precious animals. I give what I can and know what a difference it makes in these animals lives. God bless you

Everyone needs to watch this!! From what I've seen with some rescuers that save literally hundreds of dogs. One man Takis has land & cares for over 300 dogs & cats. No matter how traumatized an animal......within a week most are in love with this man! A very few may take a few weeks.....but that's extreme cases. This is like one on one treatment. I think also, his other dogs help all new dogs that come in. This is an awesome video though!!
Rudozem Street Dog Rescue too, out of Bulgaria. I know who Takis is, I followed him on FB before I deleted my account. I have financially supported RSDR. This video that I am posting is what made me look into them. OMFG---it's a tear jerker if you like animals, but fear not, Khaleesi makes a miraculous recovery---does not even look like the same dog a year later. ua-cam.com/video/GLoO9dmiBEw/v-deo.html

The Michael Vick dogs were really the game changer in the world of so called "dangerous, non save-able" dogs.People understood that much of what we all had been led to believe was..simply..not so. These dogs were fearful, unsocialized and had never known a gentle, kind touch. All but one were given new lives - either in safe, sanctuary(BFA) after being seized in the case. Or, many went to loving homes. It is something to think about. Most were pits bulls, and again - the image and media impression of these dogs has turned around - dramatically. And thank goodness, for the better!! In a way, a lot of good came out of that bad situation...This second chance facility.. is a great ASPCA program..
Cynthia Hawkins thank you for reminding people about the Michael the situation because I followed the dogs very closely specially his number one killer who became pardoned by the courts and was allowed to be on his own Unchained and unmuzzled without human being holding him and was known as a wonderful greeter at BFA in Utah and was such a beautiful dog for having gone through so much. Because of what they did with him and how he came around he made it so that other animals could have a better life. My husband and I have seen this time and again with the dogs and cats that we have rescued that people have said oh just go take it and put it down it won't be able to be placed and we'll work with them and they end up being so affectionate people will never know that they had any problem but we tell them their back story so that they know that they came from a really bad situation and they'll hopefully love them that much more. What makes me angry is our policies here where I live if a cat comes in and they say well did it scratch somebody and it might be a kitten and the family has decided they don't want to keep the batch of kittens and so they'll justify it by will it scratched the grandkid or kitten scratched the kids and we don't want it they put them down because they're aggressive excuse me they're babies they don't know any better they haven't even turned 3 months yet you're killing the whole litter! That's what they do here. Our county pound won't work with local rescue either. Really sad.
@@purgatoryofhope1414 try to lobby your county supervisors to change the county pound's policy of not working with rescues. There's no reason why they shouldn't work with rescues. You will have to go over and around them to the ones they answer to, to accomplish this. It sounds like they just don't want to be bothered with having to make an extra effort to coordinate with rescues to save and place rather than euthanize animals. Some governmental animal agencies pay their employees a bonus for each animal they euthanize; it's supposed to be compensatory for the difficult and highly unpleasant task, but too many employees see it as a way to make extra money. I live in Los Angeles, and the shelters here all work with the multitude of rescues. A lot of animals are rescued and placed, but the city and county both have bonus pay for euthanizing duties, and there are a few rogue employees who run with it. I went up against one once. I drove 50 miles to a city shelter to foster Fred, a 25-year-old senior cat in renal failure who'd been dumped by his owners and had been red-listed. I was running late due to traffic and called the shelter to let them know. I'd spoken to a supervisor earlier in the day and he'd alerted night staff that I was coming for this cat. I called at fifteen minutes to closing time while I was speeding down the freeway, and this one rogue employee answered, listened to me for about 15 seconds, then interrupted and said no, no one knew I was coming, it's just a dumb cat, he wouldn't let me in. He hung up on me. I called back over and over to keep him engaged until I got there, and he was sarcastic, abusive, said he was going to personally kill the cat, why did I care so much about him, he was just a stupid cat, I should get a life, he didn't care about the cat, it was the end of the day, employees wanted to go home, none of them would open the door let alone let me in if I got there at one minute after closing time, etc. I think he hung up on me about twenty times in between saying all of those things, but he kept answering the phone. He had to it's a city agency and they're required to answer the phone every time it rings, no matter what. I took a lot of shit from that asshole, but it was for a very good cause: Fred!!! When I got there, I jumped out of my truck, ran to a side door and knocked. The door swung open immediately, and a female employee holding a kitten stepped out. I introduced myself and started to say I was there to get Fred the cat, but she cut me off, saying "Oh, yeah, you're here to get Fred, I've been waiting for you." She led me inside. The rogue employee looked over at me, and I put my hands on my hips and glared at him, and the coward ducked his head and started wiping down the public counter. The phone rang and he grabbed it up like he was a customer service pro who couldn't wait to help people, just so he wouldn't have to deal with me. The female employee came out holding poor old Fred, who was skeletal with hyperthyroidism, a side effect of chronic renal failure, and so stiff that he could not bend his legs enough to fit in my carrier. She went into the back with Fred and brought him back out in a nice, big pink wire cage, and I went home with Fred that night, no problem. I could not believe how much that guy fought against letting me have Fred. I think that he was planning to euthanize Fred and didn't want to lose out on the bonus pay. Why else would he make such a big deal out of trying to keep Fred from me; what did HE care if I came fifteen minutes late to get him, why did he lie that no one would be there to help me even if they wanted to, because they all had to leave right at closing time? When he dropped that big, whopper lie is about the time I told him that I am also a city employee, the employee handbook required us to go the extra mile to help constituents, even if it meant we'd stay past quitting time, and that I'd happily done just that, many times I made sure I told the woman everything that asshole said to me; turns out she was a supervisor and said she would have a nice little chat with him. I'm so glad I fought for Fred, he was the sweetest, funniest cat. He made friends with my seven other rescues, especially the kittens, tiny little Dolly in particular. She would snuggle up to Fred like he was her Dada, and he would give her a bath. His meow was ravaged by his illness, it was a big, raspy croak, and he had to wind up to bellow one out like a decrepit foghorn. It was tragically hilarious. He died in my arms peacefully, two years after I sprang him from the executioner. I hope you take my suggestion to heart and set up a meeting with a county supervisor. Maybe nothing will come of it, but maybe something will. Think of the animals you'll save, and how they will enrich the lives of the people who adopt them.
@@veronicacougar5687 I've volunteered at Shelters, and have adopted only rescues. Wow. Your story is awesome, in that it tells about the battle you waged against a person that shouldn't be in that business and you won! Fred had a great last couple years thanks to you and I'm sure his gratitude was felt by you every day. You are a better person for all the love you give and I think you're fantastic!
My family kept cats so at age 40+ to get my first dog was magical. A friend had found it left out when summer folks had gone back home. She had three dogs of her own and told me that this dog needed to be in a one dog family so I took him and fell in love with dogs the rest of my life. To adopt a dog that has suffered in some way and make a good home for it and teach it not to be afraid is something that everyone should experience. What these girls are doing is really God's work. I only wish that I had gotten to know dogs earlier in life. Perhaps I would have ended up working with them as these lovely ladies are. What a joy!

Beautiful ❤ I've been in rescuing and fostering of Pit Bulls for 9 years now. There is nothing more rewarding. I just recently lost my Mr. Annie Pit Bull of 8 years... 😔 He got cancer. I'm currently looking to help again in rescue and fostering. In his honor and memory. Thank you for all that you do ASPCA. 💞
What a wonderful documentary! You guys that work with these traumatized dogs are angels....May God Bless you, your organization and all the fur babies! Happy endings....🙏🏼❤️🍀☺️
I’ll sleep easier tonight, knowing your there doing your thing.
Bless you all.
When she said that can you imagine living a life full of terror... That hit me hard...
Same here.
These folk are brilliant!
Hahah 😅😅
I. Love all of you, you are so loving, and patient, thank you,for your work!🦊💕
i love the way they are soft and gentle in every way of communications with the dogs. amazing too watch, and so important in interaction with fearful dogs.
I wish there were people like these helping humans!
There are ..... caring is not mutually exclusive
I don’t understand how anyone can do a thumbs down! You people are amazing! Thank you for going above and beyond! 💜
neither me
Yes they are. The work they do is amazing.
Hello Stephanie how’s the weather over there

Hello Barbara how’s the weather over there
Angela brown is a good kind lady ,thank you i really appreciate your work xxuk
This was the most loving film about dogs that go through rescue and rehabilitation♥️ these ladies are amazing👏🏻💓
We must support channels and organizations like this any way we can. The innocent darlings need us.
All of you are great humans ! Thank you !
I’ve helped a really redzone collie recently and she’s doing great, so this really makes me happy that people are starting to try and help the dogs who need it
Bbbnv. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. .
These people are so cool. Giving a loving animal another chance. They’ve earned their place in heaven for sure.
I wish more people could see that as it of the puppy mill. Actually I would love to see a full length documentary about the ASPCA rescuing from one of these places so people see what they really look like.
Hello Lorrie how’s the weather over there
I want to adopt a dog but I can’t pay 4 hundred dollars!
@@wandamanske8667 SPCA, Humane Society, County Animal Shelter, etc.
This breaks my heart in thousand pieces!
Thank you so much for helping these animals I can see how much love goes into these animals. If you can donate as much as you can afford help save these precious animals. I give what I can and know what a difference it makes in these animals lives. God bless you
Hello Jannette how’s the weather over there
Thank you Human angels for the unique job you do and help you give !The world is better with people like you!
This program is so wonderful. I have had many dachshunds an they are an exceptionally emotional and sensitive breed. This rehabilitation is invaluable.
Hello Sandra how’s the weather over there
I volunteer at a no-kill animal shelter but I would love to be able to work on socializing the dogs.
if where you work doesn't have that program, perhaps you can start it. I bet there is a lot of instruction out there to help you. But, thank You for what you are doing.
Hello Kathy how’s the weather over there
Please donate or volunteer at your local shelter, aspca, whoever you choose.
They feel love, joy, pain and sorrow just as we do.
Thank-you for your love and compassion to these animals 😘💕
Every single one of these sweet angel-faces deserves a true, "fur-ever" home!
Georgie Gingersnap I hope they get to feel loved PAWrever 💜

Takis has a wonderful charity for animals and Viktor of World Animal Awareness Society has a wonderful charity.Jeffrey of No Dogs Left Behind has a wonderful charity and the ASPCA has a wonderful charity...these are some charities there are others out there helping these innocent animals It is so good to be able to see how so many organizations and wonderful people are in this world. It is up to us to help as much and in anyway we can. Thank UA-cam for airing their channels and thank God it is making a difference. Thank you all for your magnificent work.
👀 them dogs, scared & shaking is really a tear jerker. What them poor dogs, have been through, is just horrible. #stopanimalabuse
What a great program. Loved seeing Thunder play with his toys! Thank you to the wonderful trainers who have so much patience and love for these sweet damaged animals.
Hello Jean how’s the weather over there
A big salute to all people of ASPCA...
I only wish you could click more than once. This was AMAZING. So happy that some people put the time and effort in to save these dogs. Keep up the good work!

We adopted a street dog from a rescue group ,that work both sides of the mexico/ Ca. border, she is absolutely the best and most behaved loving dog we have ever had, you can see the wisdom in her eyes. she was very gun shy when we got her and didn't even know what a toy was, we have been patient in her recovery, she now plays a little now and jumps in bed with us pretty much every night now, rescue make the best pets ever. Thank You for all that your group does... Sincerely
What an incredible story and such a miraculous outcome for these beautiful, sweet animals. Thank you for the love, patience, and kindness that all of you have for these animals and for making them wonderful pets for those who adopt them . You are all heroes!
Hello Jean how’s the weather over there
The Michael Vick dogs were really the game changer in the world of so called "dangerous, non save-able" dogs.People understood that much of what we all had been led to believe was..simply..not so.
Wow. God Bless you Veronica, u went above and beyond to get Fred!! trying to tackle red tape and not giving up, while most would have turned around, you fought the system and won,
I know it's not proper but you should post that POS name cuz he could still be working there causing irreparable harm to those innocent cats and dogs. it's almost criminal what he said,
We have to continually make everyone accountable. There is always politics to use as a way to create change. There are Congress people and legislators that represent certain districts where their are more nefarious and atrocious behaviors. The representatives of those counties and districts should be made aware of the awful conditions, Our elected officials need to be put on notice that they will be voted out if changes are not met, Every elected official, rep. etc, has their info easily found at Google, Twitter, n Facebook,
You are so right. This initiative from the ASPCA is on point. I hope we can eradicate puppy mills and hoarding. Let’s continue to fight dog fighting.
@@veronicacougar5687 honey, I would like to thank you for the love and compassion you have for animals, and the sacrifices you've made to do your part to save their lives. What you do is noticed... (like that matters) but i mean people take initiative from seeing others take action, so fight on! Your story is awesome, in that it tells about the battle you waged against a person that shouldn't be in that business and you won! Fred had a great last couple years thanks to you and I'm sure his gratitude was felt by you every day. You are a better person for all the love you give and I think you're fantastic!

Hello Karen how’s the weather over there
My family kept cats so at age 40+ to get my first dog was magical. What a joy!
