Thank you for a great video! I've watched it together with my girlfriend in preparation for our trip to Mera next year. Wishing all the best to you from Poland. :)
Thank you for the kind words. Mera was one of my best experiences and will be hard to beat. I hope you have just as much if not better fun and memories as I have. Stay safe on your trip and enjoy 😊
No matter how well prepared, Mera can defeat anyone....I know from personal experience. Well done for uploading your story despite the pain of failure. I wish you success in the future. Nepal is a truly wonderful and beautiful place.
May I ask what company you used and the cost? I want to do a similar trip but all the ones I seem to see are group expeditions. I'd like it just to be me guide and porter. How much is it customary to tip your guide and porter? did you do any altitude before this to acclimatise? Looks like an amazing trip and never be disheartened by making the smart choice to turn back.
Hi, I used www.treksplannernepal.com, with regards to tips , its entirety up to you, they suggest 25% to each. You can ask for a discount on the trip price if you book early enough this can help towards tip. I didn’t prepare for altitude other than doing Annapurna circuit the year before, but where I live in the UK there’s not really anything that would help me with preparing for altitude Good luck and thank you for the kind words
Sherpas only got $5 US a day in 2013. When i offered more my team leader said don't do that or they will expect it... well fuk they deserve it. Western culture in nepal mountains is disgusting. No wonder sherpas get pissed. Selfishishness of westerners is disgusting
To be honest it’s not your fault based on the timeframe given by the company for summit wasn’t long enough..everyone is different some people needs 2-3days on every 1000m before heading to higher..I tried Lobuche two times each time iv failed because of the lack of acclimatization..third time i went private added 5extra days headed up to high camp for night and went back to base camp basically like rotations on big mountains and it worked..
Yeah I do think that if I had 2-3 more days like you said, I might have completed it. Just means I’ll have another reason to go back and maybe try island Peak. Let’s see Thanks for you words of encouragement
@@Gosai1 don’t let companies fool you..90% of the people comes from sea level..14days not enough for 6000m plus…and good luck for island peak I’m going for Mera this upcoming spring lol..the views are suppose to be the best from Mera summit
24:23 yep two toilets, not ones you would want to use often though, i wont say anymore and leave the rest to your imagination or you're planning on doing Mera peak then dont want to spoil the surprise 🤣
Congratulations on your Mera Peak trek. Great video and commentary. It is a lot harder than one might think. My son and I did the trek a few years back, I did not summit, sounds similar to what you experienced. Something that I will never forget. See out adventure at ua-cam.com/video/_MLPz01V4hQ/v-deo.html Best of luck with your next adventure.

nice man :)
Thanks!
Nice video! It’s a huge ask to acclimate so quickly and the continual ascending is far from ideal. Thanks for sharing
At my age, I should have known better and spread the trek a few extra days, now I know for next time. Glad you enjoyed the video
Excellent job. You made it to base camp and beyond. Congrats on the effort and the tough journey there and back.
Thank you, I’m grateful I had the opportunity to trek to Mera
Very nice amazing job
Thank you

Thank you for the kind words, the journey was an amazing experience.
And yes Nepal is truly wonderful
Watching that was exhausting!
I probably made it look at lot worse than it was, but it isn't an easy trek to do for sure. :)
If success is only when you reach a peak, how do you classify all the other events in your life?
Yes, very true.
Success is achieved from experiences, summating would have been a nice to complete but the overall experience was still successful.

This was different route I think, coz I done mera peak with.. hilly climbing only.
Yes I think there’s two main routes
Tim, is a way to get in contact with you? Have many questions as I am planning a late October hike to Mera Peak.
Hi, what’s your email address ? I’ll reach out to you on mail to see if I can help
