@@northwestrepair what are the common issues for used RX 470 msi miner not working? ) 3 year old already, whenever I connect the 8pin to gpu , psu will shutdown, lol.

ì like the powercolor devils graphics card have the 5700x myself, didnt even remember the brand ;p haha but it works very good, if you like to tweak it that is, atleast because the original drivers didnt work for me that well, but is nothing new @ amd i have heard they got way better driver wise but i still run 3rd party nimez pro radeon drivers instead of the commercial ones. component wise i wouldnt know.

for the gigabyte fan header pins being swapped, could be that just the plastic guide that goes around the pins on the PCB got removed and put on backwards, so the only way to plug it in was in the flipped direction.
You may be right. Cannot confirm without taking a close look.

GG tips and DIY for buying and gaming with used GPU bought online.
Had a 1070 ftw since 2016 thing still works perfectly. Miss EVGA.
a similar thing that happened to the 1080 ti happened to my 3080 12 gb from msi, the single hdmi port has extreme artifacting when connected, but the display ports all work normally. thankfully all i use is display ports so its not the end of the world.
You could check connections.
Sometimes it's a crappy HDMI cable or HDMI splitter or HDMI switch that's causing these issues.

If the fan pins are in reverse order I suspect that the connector shell was pulled off the board (leaving the pins in the board) at some point and put back the wrong way round. Real easy to do especially if the connector is warm.
I've been trying to track down all the handy test equipment you use in your videos and I've got most of it worked out but I can't get anywhere with that "data line tester". I'm assuming it tests each PCIe lane for short/open by looking for the transmitter/receiver impedance, which sounds real handy. Any tips for finding one? Googling the name on the board doesn't work if everything on it is Chinese (at least not for me).
1. I OCR'd a screenshot of the name (after some tweaking and color reversal, cause free OCR is baaad) and here's what it came out with: [ AGP PCI-E顯卡維修栓 ]
2. I googl'd that and tweaked the search a bit and came out with the search term: [ AGP PCI-E 16X ]
3. Googl'd that yet again and found the product: [ AGP PCI-E 16X Dual-purpose socket tester ] - available on aliexpress for roughly $40

With the first video. I think what happened is the original owner tried to remove the fan header and the bracket on the motherboard came off with the header and they could not remember which way it went back on and put it on backwards I think.

As an amd gpu owner i was disapointed that i didnt see the on-screen symptoms. Maybe it was bcuz my 8gb 470 displays pairs of 4 dots forming a square all over the screen and even a webpage with just text creates artefacts as black lines
👏👏. What motherboard do you use? These programs don't run on all motherboards
I have Gigabyte H81 and more options doesnt work
Asus h81m cheapest board I could find.
Also, be sure to book as UEFI or legacy if doesn't work. Some programs work only one way or another so manually ovveriding it may be the option for you.
Turn off secure boot and enable legacy boot in your Bios.

Hi can you, can you give me advice on changing the memory on any gpu, problem is that when i replace a memory chip, in like 50% of the time same memory chip dies again after some time im use like one month, i think its the memory controler in gpu itself but is it that common to have bad mem controlers?
and how can i suspect a bed memory controler.

regarding the annoyance of needing to go via the igpu to see the console on amd cards, you could try to use ssh to access the terminal from another pc. you essentially would only need to make sure that there is some kind of ssh server running on the t-server and that you have a network connection between the two computers. maybe this helps :)

@@northwestrepair nah, it's not complicated. apparently i can't put any links here because my comments keep disappearing, but a video on youtube called "How to enable SSH on Linux Ubuntu (Easy step by step guide)" shows the setup well. but maybe ssh is already set up by default anyways :D
one problem you might be running into though is that your ubuntu version may be too old and you can't simply download the openssh-server package (if not installed already). there is a thread on askubuntu called "How to install software or upgrade from an old unsupported release?" that should help out with that.
so i'd suggest you try it out, it might save you quite some time in the long run :)

Hi, can you make a video on how to flash a mining gpu into a fully gaming gpu
You dont need to flash it, you just need to open Nvidia control panel and select your mining GPU as a primary source for gaming.
mining gpus dont have video output but so this way image comes from onboard video while gpu power is from mining card.

GPU will not work with one memory removed. It needs all of them

This isn't a VBIOS issues, its an architecture issue.
7:39 so the GPU is 2x 8 pin u only plug in 8 pin and 6 pin? The 2 empty pins are they "empty"?
8 pin connector is actually 2 pins. Ground and 12V.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is. That's my motto!
