Funny enough I got just over a grand with a lot of wee 5 and 10 pound bets best I got was in June at 14/1 worst I got was 15/2 in November got 12/1 and 10/1 in between,honestly bet him for value for money and belive it or not I wasn't that bothered when he got to the final as I thought MVG would win,by the time it was 5-3 then 6-3 I was absolutely bricking it lol,he got over the line and both played great darts,happy days.

Great final, buttt definitely not the best. Second half wasn't top standard play and more importantly there was no drama, no big tension. Take away that perfect leg and it's a fun but not particularly remarkable final, especially compared to for instance that classic Taylor vs Barney one. Nevertheless, thoroughly enjoyable tournament with a fine climax.

I can't say I've ever been of fan of Smith, perhaps because he's failed so many times at the finish line. That being said, this was an excellent match and I haven't been filled with so much joy for someone's victory before. I will be watching him with more enthusiasm in the 2023 season!
