Caught a 11inch blue Gil on 3inches of clear ice today!
I fish that same spot every year. If you are looking to crush some nice large mouth move closer to that white house on the point in about 8-12ft of water.

You must not have seen some of the 16 inchers I’ve pulled outta Tonka, I filmed 3 ice camping videos last year where it was 12 after 12 after 12 . Just gotta know where to go. Didn’t get to my good spots cause there isn’t a safe way to get to them yet

Whats the best technique for crappie and perch when the ice is thaw?
Cut a big hole and start casting 😂😂😂, haha no but for real, find some shallow water. It freezes faster than deeper water. My go to is a shallow pond that is blocked from the wind.
Take a small tungsten and wax worm and jig around any drop offs you can find or structure

Why the hell are you fishing with braid for crappie in 20 ft of water 🤔
This is my dead stick setup, like I said I wasn’t planning on filming so I grabbed only one rod 😂, braid in 20 feet is no problem thou? I usually use floro but Braid works great too
And it’s braid to a 4 pound floro leader. Works great jiggin

@@MinnesotaMonsters Seen some photos a few nights ago. Tonka is ready in some parts. Stick to the smaller bays for safer ice.
