One of my buddies in our fantasy league is really old school with baseball. The other day he was talking with us about how he finally started looking at sites like baseball savant and he really was liking the barrel stat.
I think that stat is one of my favorites because even if you're an old school scout who hates these stat changes in evaluating, the stat explains to them what they already know but just quantitative. From the name to what it's measuring, it feels like a stat an old school scout can look at, make sense of, and say yeah this all tracks with my experience.
