@@Kuk0san i have tried it 4 times there(software developer), their hiring process is pretty un-forgiving, unlike google or other tech companies, they don't focus on bookish stuff like algorithms/ds or whatever management people learn, but based on real world tasks or previous work..

IIRC, the hawaii vacation happens every year at Valve. The entire company is given a paid vacation to Hawaii and they're allowed to take their family. It happens around this time every year as well, I think the last few years it hasn't because of the pandemic though.

As someone who doesn't open cases, I prefer the key system. Lets me make a bit of money from playing so I can buy cheap skins or games.

@@Arda0801 but don't you think price of the case itself would increase, I currently don't open cases because I can't afford the key. If cases were to drop while ranking up or in a weekly basis and there is no keys, I think the case supply in the market would dry up. As people similar to me would rather open than to list them in the market.

While the 1.99$ case is most definitely a fairer system than a dropped case. I admit, I simply like the dropped cases because I can sell them. With the announcement of CS2 and the rise of interest in the game, case price have risen as well. I’ve managed to sell tons of cases I've accumulated over the years of playing. I’m a student with no money, so this was a blessing as I could just buy games even if I couldn’t financially afford them.

The odds on this case are absolute garbage, even worse than the other cases.
you are less likely to get the covert in this case than a stattrak knife in a normal case

Warowl I think this one goes without saying, but will you "remaster" or remake all your cs:go tutorials/guides for the cs2 release? I have a lot of friends who want to get into cs after exams are over (which is when cs2 releases) and I always went to those vids for them.

Sadly im 2500h deep now and still only mg2 :P

I’ve watched since 2014, I don’t even play Counter-Strike anymore but I kept watching. It’s crazy to think that this game is now being sunsetted. I might give cs2 a shot when it comes out. Thanks Mr. WarOwl for all the great csgo content over the past decade and I hope to see a decade of cs2 content from you.
Same for me. I don't play CS more than the occasional gungame, but his content is just so good. Both what he does, and his personality. And the "competitive CSGO but..." series is a classic.
I wish you liked Squad. We need your in-depth analysis of weapons and strats like you do in CSGO.

I remember buying a WarOwl sticker and asking you what I should put it on. You sent me a picture reply of your own Chameleon AUG. Well, I didn't have that skin but the one I did have was the Radiation skin and I put the Owl right on the radiation sign and called it the Irradiated Owl. It was a good investment!

about the last remark about the part where getting case drops might be a good thing, for a pleb like me, a case drop in the first week of its release has definitely helped me build my steam balance.
clearly there is a demand for it, and while ideally gamba should not exist at all, it is what it is. so i'd be sad for the plebs if this is the way case works for the future.
At least it's cosmetic only. They don't put guns or functional camo behind the microtransactions. As TotalBisquit used to say "don't sell power" And they don't.
As long as the stuff doesn't interfere with gameplay balance and is limited to visual bragging rights, I'm totally fine with it.
Plus, never underestimate the player's incentive to look different.

The kind of weapon that is extremely niche. Not the meta, not even off meta, just one player in one situation that really owns with it.
i like the keyless cases, it's something they did previously in tf2 and I really liked it.

Just wanted to comment on the whole "keyless case" thing. "Collections" are what he is referring to, and they have been in during the last few operations and have a pool that also includes light blue rarity as well as the rest of the colors. Basically, the "cases" are cheaper but you have a much lower chance at getting anything of quality. Essentially a lower tier case that doesn't have a key. I wish I could name a few collections, but they are alluding me right now. Love the vids WarOwl, and I am excited for CS2

I haven't played CSGO in a long time, and largely off the value of old cases I managed to sell my inventory and get a steam deck from just playing the game. A lot of old cases went up to $3-$4, and if you played a lot in that time you could have dozens or even hundreds. (Of course, not as much return as just working).

They should probably reduce the spread of shotguns in general a little bit. Because there's this misconception in video games where shotguns have a huge spread when firing when in reality their spread is very tight and can hit targets decently far. Buffing shotties would make people use them more often.
00 buckshot in a 2 3/4 inch shell has an expected lethal range of ~50 meters.
Games always suck when depicting shotguns.
@@plasticbazooka It would be way op in CS2 if they make it's range that long. You'd be able to 1-shot everyone from afar. That's why the spread should be tighten only a bit to increase it's lethality.
@@damsen978 Quite obviously ranges need to be reduced to account for smaller arenas in games but the point is that games seem to think a pistol can outrange an 18-inch shotgun.

Plus there is different ammunition and chokes for shotguns. Effectiveness can easily go to 70m/75yds with buckshot.
I can totally understand taking a step away from realism for gameplay balance, but it has to at least somewhat resemble what the things are meant for. Like losing effectiveness against armor.
And combat shotguns aren't really that much of a thing as games make it seem. They tend to be used more for door breaches and less lethal rounds.
As someone who used to play Dota2, the fact people just flipped the boxes on the market to buy their battle pass or Dota + is hilarious... also my cases keep going up in value from the last TI I bought into.

Valve could have easily added the Anubis Collection to the weekly level up drop but they decided to charge money for it and since there's no major for souvenir packages or an operation to redeem skins for, this was the direction Valve took for the Anubis Collection.
I bet this is gonna be a one time thing only because I just don't see Valve adding packages that don't need keys. They obviously made a ton of money while adding cases to the drop pool + keys in the store.
The whole case situation is kinda nice now though because for every three you get you can sell two and use that money to buy a key and open the third.
Or you can sell all three and buy a skin off the market that you like. There are some really cool cheap ones out there.

I agree with you. Don’t buy skins you don’t want. I’ve played counter-strike essentially my whole life. I was a kid when version 1.2 was available for free, and played it ash the way through to now, in 11 years of CS:GO I’ve never opened a case, never bought a skin. I’ve sold plenty and I use a few and I might have traded a couple but I’ve never put my money to cosmetics in a skill based shooter. Just not what makes me happy.
Owning enemies with superior skill is what makes the game so good. There is no level unlocks, perk systems or cosmetic season pass. The only progression is the progression in your skill. Rare in this day and age, but something that should be more widespread.
The keyless creates come from Team Fortress 2 in fact. They did that years ago on TF2. But actually, idk if they did that on other Valve games.
