Huge thanks to Jim Ollick for editing this video!
Thanks so much for this video. I had to replace the battery on my 2017 RX 350 today. I got the EverStart Platinum AGM battery from Walmart. The Walmart auto shop had a 3 hour wait to change it for free. I didn't want to wait and so searched for YT videos on how to change a battery. I bought the 10mm from Walmart right there and then. Came back home and replaced it in under 10 minutes. The only place where I got slightly stuck was the negative terminal wire was stuck on the terminal due to crud buildup. Some tapping and it eventually came out. Started the car and the display said it was loading software, which took around 30 seconds. And everything working fine. The clock was off but reset itself after a couple of minutes. I didn't use any memory saver and the only thing that reset was the automatic folding of the side mirrors when car was switched off. Thanks again.
Excellent work!
Awesome video, Viktor! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Vishal!
Great Job 🤩
Thanks 😁
Thanks for the vids viktor, people kept saying to supply to obd2 port with power to prevent issues. Is this not required on the 4th gens? And can you possibly do a video on bleeding the brakes, I just use a pressure bleeder and was wondering if it was sufficient enough even though the abs module doesnt get flushed.
The repair manual does not instruct you to supply power when replacing the battery. You can definitely do it if you want, I never have myself. It may help to prevent losing settings and getting the ICS warning light etc.
As far as brake bleeding, I would either use gravity bleed or vacuum bleeding, I’ve never done pressure bleeding myself. I’m sure it is sufficient.
@@Viktor_G_Automotive thanks boss man!
Thanks so much , But you didn't use the memory saver ?
You can definitely use one, but the repair manual does not have that listed as one of the steps.
I have a 2017 RX350 the parts advisor at my local Lexus Dealer was recommending I use factory battery. I was just going to buy one at my local Costco.
Sounds good 👍🏻
As long as Costco does a cross-reference and gives you the correct battery, there should be no issues. Since my 2017 RX350 died in the AutoZone parking lot, Autozone tested my battery and told me it no longer can hold a charge, so I got an AutoZone battery.

Viktor...what kind of battery terminal protector spray do you use? Thanks
The WURTH one I use in the video cannot be easily bought online, but the CRC product linked below is good quality as well: amzn.to/3Ozx5Ta
That's a dirty engine bay! In comparison my '17 engine bay is showroom ready.
Nice 👍
@@Viktor_G_Automotive I must state your video was very helpful. I had no surprises. The only difference was my battery had a jacket. I transferred to the new one.
Gen 4 rx350 transmission fluid change video please Viktor🙌

Does it impact the electrical system when a battery is replaced?
It depends on how long the battery is disconnected. If you wait too long between disconnecting the old one and installing the new one, you may lose some settings, radio presets etc. and you may get an ICS warning light on. Drive the vehicle in a straight line at over 40 mph to clear that light.
Is battery registration necessary for 2016 RX350?
Nope
@@Viktor_G_Automotive amazing, thank you!
How many years does a good brand battery lasts? What are some good battery brands?
It really depends on the climate and usage. They don’t like extreme heat or extreme cold. Here in Canada they usually last 5-10 years. As far as brands, I’ve always used OEM, don’t have much experience with aftermarket ones.
@@Viktor_G_Automotive Thanks...great advice.
