Dear Audrey, your rule, that an outfit should not have more than 3 colours is key! I am very thankful for all of your tips. The one to estimate if a blouse will fit is new to me and I'll try this on my next shopping trip. Also: your voice calms me down.
Plexus Sojus I was going to make the same comment about the three colour rule! That helped me this weekend when I was planning my outfit. I knew something seemed not right with my outfit and I had four colours, so I switched one item in my outfit and it looked so much better!
@@MissyJPHD Exactly. I was applying all her "rules" somehow unconsciously and sometimes, when I didn't, I felt something is wrong with the outfit but couldn't tell what. Now I am aware of these rules and can avoid such uncohesive outfits.
Yes! I’ve been putting that into practice and my outfit has looked more put together and more thoughtful. I play around with color as well, since it’s fall (my favorite time of the year) there are tons of items in my favorite tone colors. It’s so much fun for me. I look at clothes more than just a way to cover up my body.
The three-color advice has really changed the way people at work see me. I get a lot of comments about how well put together I look since implementing this conscientiously.
Great advice! For many years, I have used the trick to measure the pants for fit! I laughed recently when shopping in a second hand market as I noticed a woman staring at me as I measured the waistband on my neck! I am an American recently retired to southern Italy, I found a fabulous second hand shop and have recently acquired an original Louie Vuitton handbag, and a beautiful Versace blouse at a fraction of the original price. It’s not about the label and price point. It’s about the quality and design. I worn scrubs for many years because I worked as a nurse in major trauma and critical care. Now, in retirement i love wearing beautiful outfits, it gives me joy. I dress up to go to the supermarket! Your advice has been very helpful in helping me find my way in the world of fashion, and expressing my individual style. Grazie Mille.
agreed! i am a very artistic artist & dress to reflect that. so many folks, over the years, say that i am always well put together. i mix and match various clothing genres, so that i can look "goth" and also "bohemian," all at the same time!
Great ideas! Thank you. Please consider creating videos on: 1. Choosing glasses 2. An all flat shoe wardrobe 3. How to look good when having to wear all flats shoes or other restrictions because of disability. Other topics could be, how do you choose a cane or disguise or dress around a brace?
As an optician, for choosing glasses I say please go to your local optical and a good optician will select frames that will fit your perfectly. There are also bespoke eyewear liens if you don’t find what you like.
I enjoy your videos very much. I smiled when you said you had a silk scarf six years, in your wardrobe. I have had silk scarves passed down to me from my mother from her mother, so at least 70 years old. They are still in reasonable condition with only a few rust marks. Still very wearable if you tie them the right way. I love them for their beauty and their history.
Anna Mcarthur isn’t it wonderful to have quality items that are heirlooms... I have things that go back to my grandmother 40’s-65 And very special things that were my great grandmothers. A few pieces beyond that. It’s so special to still enjoy them
Martha Ross Usually these items are not only special but they’re also classic, timeless and absolutely beautiful. I feel the most classy when I have on a beautiful hat from about the 1940s paired with a lovely tailored dress and a fabulous handbag!
I appreciate your educational efforts, Audrey. People used to be taught quality in home economics, but once those classes disappeared, manufacturers were able to sell more on marketing and less based on quality.
@Olivia Purcel I am in favor of teaching critical thinking skills in elementary schools (in addition to home ec)...of course, our kids will be intelligent and maybe a little bit less compliant...and that's a good thing in many ways. :)
@Olivia Purcel I agree...but many people would not - regardless of gender - as they still embrace old-school thinking that prefers obedience and conformity (in women and children)...we can raise their awareness to "check" this way of thinking. Look at our leadership example, leaping to intimidate or shutdown anyone who raises a question...when a child grows up in this environment, they tend to comply rather than dare to think critically. It is a cycle that needs work to break, we can't just wish it away.
That part about the pattern aligning is interesting. I didn’t know it was an indicator of a high quality garment, but I do avoid mismatched patterns simply because it looks bad. This is good to know though.
I agree - a holiday video would be great, particularly even a holiday "capsule" of classic but festive pieces that can be mixed and matched so that you don't look the same at all the holiday parties, but also don't spend a ton on a bunch of different items that are only appropriate at New Year's, etc. Great video today, as always!
Hot humid weather is awful. Glad I live in Switzerland where our climate is warm but mild with dry snowy winters. But I know the problem of hot humid weather when I used to live in Durban South Africa for a few years.
Me too, I live in the Caribbean so we are in ‘Summer,’ all year round, it’s just that our summer months are usually really hot and humid. We never usually go below 82 degrees so we can’t change our wardrobes around for the seasons. I have got my colors sorted, basically lots of white, along with black, beige and dark blue, with pink and periwinkle blue as accent colors. we don’t have excuses to wear sweaters, coats and all those lovely winter accessories. So I would be really interested on wardrobe suggestions for really hot weather, and, for using them year round.
@@janegeorge-john7272 Hi Jane, I smiled when I read at what you wrote. Like you say you hardly need to wear a jersey in the Caribbean. Here in Switzerland, it is another story. We need to have plently of socks, good strong shoes, jerseys and jackets. Our weather can change in a few hours. But we are lucky having four very different seasons.
I live in Dubai and our winters last about a month, and the temp only drops to 14C. The highest it goes up to in the summer is 49C. My hair is suffering every day :(
I carry a small retractable tape measure in my handbag for measuring inseam, bust and length measurements! It helps me decide what size to take to the dressing room. I've used your two tricks and it does work💚
I love your videos and the focus on developing a personal style. A note on natural fibers. These fibers also are breathable. Where I live in the desert of Arizona, I only wear linen, cotton, or silk in the summer. But, even in the winter, it is easy to overheat in a synthetic polyester fabric. A wool or cashmere will keep you warm without overheating, whereas you may find a coat or jacket in synthetic needing to be taken on and off to regulate temperature.
Through the years I have found I would rather have fewer clothing items, with the bulk of the ones I do have being high quality, classic styles. I'm slowly replacing and purging my closet with this attitude. And the personal color pallet is key. I didn't realize it until watching this video, but that's the direction I'm going. These are fantastic tips. Thank you, Audrey.
I got out of buying few but higher quality items when I was a young mother. Spills, goopy hands, my weight going up and down all the time, etc. Now I'm trying to buy more high-quality things again. I keep having to remind myself that I don't have to worry about stains every day.
Justin Leconte explained about the quality of clothes and handbags in outlets. She is a designer and knows very much about fashion. I found Audrey 's channel through Justine's
That's why I have one coat, one bag, one pair of boots, all black. It always matches and I don't have to think about it or risk forgetting something important in one of the others. Surely that has also nothing to do with money, nooo :D
@@bludiamond, I have feet that are quite wide across the toe box & a AA heel. I generally purchase Haflinger mules. They fit well & are well made. I search EBay & find new or "used" (often without even a scuff on the soles) shoes I can afford, there.
@@OliviaEglantine chuckles.... Nope. Not at all. (Hums as she walks away. Can't whistle!) I've found buying quality returns or otherwise "used" on EBay, generally in as new condition, I'm actually able to get shoes that fit my feet. Mules are a God-send.
Oh my goodness, Audrey! You're getting so good at this! I'm amazed at how much you can pack into a 10 minute video and it's chock full of concrete information, not the fluffy stuff. I've recently started shopping at a local thrift store (Value Village) and that is where I've put into action a lot of your tips when examining articles of clothing. I've made some really good finds. It's quite exciting!! Obviously it's very important with used clothing to look carefully for signs of wear. I almost resent paying store prices now. Haha. Anyway, thanks for being a ray of sunshine on a very wet Vancouver morning.
You are the definition of classy and wise WAY beyond your years! Love your style and you have helped me to build a quality, capsule wardrobe and not be tempted by fast fashion. Thank you.
I love your videos because you do a good job of giving great advice while not being judgemental and taking down other women for the way they like to dress, which I think is a problem with a lot of fashion/beauty channels. You seem like a lovely person
Between your videos and Alyssa Beltempo, I am curating my best closet pieces and thoughtfully and mindfully buying and decluttering my wardrobe of what suits me beautifully, if there ever was someone for you to collaborate with it would be her! PS, I’ve told her the same! Love you both!
Katy Larson...I laughed out loud when I read this! You see I read your comment on Alyssa's last video. You did indeed tell her the same! I love them both too! : ) Bet I would love you too!
I've been using the technique of holding up a top around my bust to check sizing for years. My Mum showed me it when I was a child. It's especially helpful if you're in a wheelchair, as disabled changing rooms are usually a nightmare, either too small, difficult to reach or used for storage & full of boxes. You can also use the same technique for your bottom half. I imagine it would be more reliable than using your neck, for people who are pear or apple shaped. There is a similar technique for socks. I know most socks have added synthetic fibres for stretch, but natural ones do not stretch at all so you have to buy the exact size. Clench your fist & wrap the sock around the widest part. The heel & toe of the sock should meet comfortably & slightly overlap, by about half a centimetre. I worked part time in a sock shop from the ages of 13 to 26, from school to post-graduate studies. It's a method we always used & were a very popular supplier of pure cotton & wool socks in our city. We had lots of regulars, including the staff at 2 local theatres who always had unusual requests. I remember the shop owner's delight when she managed to source a pair of over-the-knee socks for a leading lady in neon pink & green stripe in the late 80s. They were hideous but perfect for the role. I've forgotten what it was.
guess i've established the color pallette rule because my eyes are always automatically drawn to black and navy. now the problem is to avoid buying something so similar to what i already have at home 😂 you look really beautiful audrey, have a great day! ♥
@@klcampy oh my god i can relate. i have like 3 or 4 navy polkadots thing, be it blouse, dress, and skirts. (well... black polkadots too) with basic thing like black skirts i can let it slide cause i used them daily for office wear ☺
@Jessica, you can also pair black and navy in one outfit. It’s considered very “ Parisian”. Whatever its inspiration, these two colors can look fantastic together, in my opinion (IMO). Have a nice week. 🙂🌸
Your tips are always valuable but your tips on estimating if pants or a blouse will fit are priceless. Sizes vary so much from brand to brand, and manufacturer to manufacturer. These two quick checks will be real time savers when heading to the dressing room. Thank you.
Audrey, you make things so easy. I have elevated my style into a mature rational woman thanks to your advices. Now I feel confident anytime and I don't have to overthink what to wear. And I'm saving lots of money. I don't regret any purchase in the last two years.
I learn more from your brief videos on developing personal style than I have from flipping through tons of fashion magazines. For those of us who want to look “pulled together” without spending too much time, you are a godsend. Grateful for each of your tips!
Hmm.. I don't think a neck size changes as much as a waist. This tip didn't really work for me when I gained weight, I'm afraid. But might work for you, good luck! :)
This trick doesn’t really work. It depends person to person. I bought a pair of jeans in rush just using this hack and once I came back home n tried, it didn’t really fit. Hope this trick works for u.
I just finished college and was at Nordstroms on the escalator I could see myself from a distance in the mirror. There I was in my old favorite coat it was way too big, shapeless and any life it had was now long gone! I started laughing . I went straight to the coat department and bought a well tailored fitted, high quality coat. Sometimes seeing yourself in a mirror from a far changes your view of things.
This is my favorite channel. I appreciate the effort you put into making things look neat and classic. For example, the music. It’s jazzy and makes me feel like I’m having coffee by a window on a rainy day. Thank you for your content. :)
I really enjoyed this video because it actually had different tips than the one's that are repeatedly mentioned in in every other UA-cam video. I jotted down several tips and I am thoroughly excited to try them!!!
Gosh everything you say everything you wear and the tone of your voice brings a smile to my heart! I'm learning so much and I feel so blessed to have found your Channel---continue spreading joy and your light! Truly, it is not wasted on me! XXOO
Thank you for teaching and sharing what you know. I grew up with not the best teaching and never even considered getting things tailored until recently. So your videos are perfect cause I truly didn't know any of these things and frankly just felt overwhelmed with my wardrobe. Starting fresh now. Thankyou for being pleasant, simplifying everything and making it seem fun and easy to do:)
Thank you for these wonderful tips. I will now use your pants and shirts rule before hitting the dressing room a thousand times. You're thoughtful fashion sense is very much appreciated.
Great information. It’s pretty much everything my grandmother taught me, as well. A woman with timeless personal style!!! I still wear some of her clothes. (Natural fiber- properly cared for) Vintage 1940-65. People are amazed when they inquire... no longer available for purchase 🤷🏼♀️ I really enjoy your videos and your personal style.
Love these tips, they are simple and true! I must say though, generally you must be in shape for the pant around the neck tip. Too many people, even a little out of shape, have a waist larger than the circumference of their neck. This tip is not universal.
Such great tips. I stumbled on the colour palette tips myself after moving over seas and having to fit all clothes in 2 suitcases. At the time, I had red and black glasses, and navy blue glasses, so anything that made it into my suitcase had to be in red, navy, cream or black! I get comments all the time about being "well-dressed", yet I have a tiny capsule wardrobe. So easy to match everything and I never get stuck for outfits! Thanks for your sizing tips 💚
These are all very good tips especially for those who are just starting out with dressing better. The colour palette tip is a big one that I recommend to a lot of people. Once you've found the palette that looks good with your complexion that's great, but don't forget to personalize it by highlighting your favourite colours from it. My mom and I have a very similar complexion but our closets are very different with the colours we gravitate toward. It really lets your personality shine which in turn helps you look better in your outfits.
Thanks for being my Style Guru! I learn so much from your videos, and enjoy how beautiful and stylish they are. AND that you keep the content rich and concise. Love the fit hacks, too. Thank you!
Your videos are incredibly helpful. I can definitely say my closet has improved since discovering your channel! I no longer mindlessly shop and I’ve been able to purge a lot of clothes that I just no longer wear 😁
I didn't know about what was happening to the Outlet Stores but on a few occasions I have looked at so called "Designer Items" and actually thought they were fakes! Lovely video Audrey. Thank you.
You're right. I grow up that most of my outfit is tailored. My mother is very strict when it comes to dressing. I'm very keen to the stitches & kind of fabric used.
I think before using the measurements rules of jeans around neck and shirt till underarms, one should check if the rule works for them with the already well fit clothes they own at home.
I really appreciate you Audrey! I think your comment about outlets is spot on. I used to work at an outlet and had a lot of clothes from that job and the clothes literally fell apart after a few washes. It was consistently bad quality clothing. It was disappointing and also a waste of money.
Goodness. You are the sister I never had. So genuine and warm and stylish. Every video is such a treat! Thank you so much for all your hard work. Much love. 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Audrey, you are lovely. I’m so glad to have found your channel. I’m much more of a trendy dresser but your channel is helping me transition to a more classic elegant style. Quirky elegance is what I’m going for 😉
I buy timeless styles in the second-hand market. I am picky about brands, but I found a great store that stocks St. John, Prada, Chanel, Gucci. That is fantastic way to shop for me!
@Caiti M You are in for a treat! Great thrift and resale stores! Blu Bird Circle, The Guild Thrift, Junior Forum....great coach bags, I MEAN!!! Welcome to H-Town!
I love your grandma’s tip for checking if a top will fit! Why I have never heard of that before I don’t understand! 😊 Also - I agree with your suggestion about shopping from platforms like Poshmark. I have a few pairs of premium denim that I couldn’t have afforded new but what I spent was equivalent to what I used to spend for jeans at Target. I also bought a new with tags Dawn Levy coat for $25 and a new with tags Walter Baker genuine leather coat for $88. Its worth looking!
I absolutely agree about outlets - you have to look very carefully whether the pieces they sell are really worth it. But I regularly look out for sales on company websites. Ralph Lauren for example has a sale twice a year (I think) and you can get many items 50 percent off. A big thank you for your advice - very helpful as always!
I also have a rule of 2, maximum 3 colors. That's just simple elegant and easy. Thank you for this video packed with so much useful information. Looking forward for another one. Specially a Christmas one 🙂
I love having a selection of black pieces! It is helpful to have several different pairs of black pants in different cuts and fabrics. I also have purchased a mock neck black sweater, a 3/4 sleeve crew neck, and a v-neck shawl style. I’m prepared for nearly anything when it comes to that base color. I also definitely agree that matching accessories looks more chic. Good tips! I get many compliments too!
Love your videos, especially your soothing voice and elegant setting. Have learned lots and really appreciate the time and effort to put them together and share your experience. ❤️
I find myself doing this almost automatically. I do have flops, now & again, because I really didn't understand why one thing was perfect & another wasn't. Black, grey, red, & purple are my favorites, with black being my base color & the others are accent. My second base color is a vibrant, cool, red. I always wear dresses/skirts, never slacks or jeans. That way, I feel more put together & retain modesty. You're helping me articulate what I like, why, & what has caused the occasional flop. Thank you.
The color palette tip is the best ever. Once I figured mine out years ago it has saved me from spending way more money than I needed to. I used to feel like I HAD to wear color so I’d buy things in different colors and half the time I’d only ever wear the same 2 colors and everything would just go unworn. Now my closet is mainly black and white with only sprinkles of dusty rose, burgundy, and muted green.
This is advice I have always needed. Organization and presentation is so important to me, yet my personal style has been THE unsolved accident in my life. I will start with your color palette rule, and try to challenge myself to match my shoes to one piece in each outfit. Also - I had to subscribe! Your enunciation and even tone makes it very pleasing and easy to listen to the video. Thank you!
Thanks for clarifying the outlet issue. Many, many years ago outlets were where you found great deals on designer clothes, alas, no more. Ebay is the place!
The thing with labels is that they're associated with status. Now everybody literally die for the trap. There's no concern with environment and labor issues, not to mention where one's throwing their time and energy at. The only thing that matters is being viewed and liked virtually, outside the gadgets no one cares. It's insanely sad.
@@patriciavincent3838 - Supply and demand is the free market, not capitalism (free market is compatible with almost any basic economic system in a democracy). Capitalism is mostly about a small few owning the means of production, which contributes to fast accumulation of wealth for those individuals. With the economic necessity to increase wealth indefinitely to keep the cog turning, the exploitation of workers for cheap labor is irresistable, leading to deregulation (hence why corporations want to influence, or be part of, the government). You're absolutely right that consumerism is a big part of it (corporations looking to make money prefer "consumers" over "customers"), but consumerism and capitalism go hand-in-hand. In other words, you're both right! =D
@@nathaliesophie4207 How do you notice that? Except for visible logos (ugh!) no-one can see the brand, but they can observe the quality of fabric, design, finish.
Dear @AudreyCoyne, can you do a video on how to know what colors look best with your skin tone? I need to know which colors flush me out and which ones make me pop
But, how would you know if the stuff on Poshmark are not from an outlet store? The shirt and pants tips are brilliant and will come in handy shopping at thrift stores w/o a fitting room. BTW, you look great in navy.
I saw a youtube video about that. On the label there is often a clue, like 2 or 3 little diamonds added under the name when it is made for outlets. Ralph Lauren has different colored labels for different levels of quality/price.
Thankyou very much Audrey. The tip about the shirt was my favourite. Holding it across the bust and under the armpits. This is going to be so useful. Beverley. Xx
All good tips. Wondering if there's a percentage "rule" for patterns and solids in your wardrobe. All solids seem a bit dull to me. I get that the scarf can be print or textures break up the solids but is there a rule?
I couldn't care less about name brands at ALL. I've always been like that. All the stuff I like is eccentric and cute and pastel so brands don't really come into it! But it's nice that all my stuff goes together because it follows that palette generally! Like the tip of matching your shoes to your top! Love your voice!! You need to do audiobooks, you'd be perfect for that!!
Please do video for windy spring weather as in New Zealand its difficult to carry graceful look especially when its field day with kids. Love your style Thank you😘
My color palette is floral lol. I hate trying on pants so I just do the armpit trick but with pants where if they look like they go half way around my wide hips then they're good to go. I usually have to take them in at the waist which is why I prefer to buy drawstring pants now.
I totally agree! I have a very low budget so I always thrift and the quality I get is amazing! I’ve come to love thrift shopping to curate my wardrobe and most of my wardrobe is vintage silk, linen, wool, and cashmere plus silk scarves and Italian leather handbags and shoes and I only ever spend between 50 cents and $15 per item! I highly recommend looking in the men’s section as well because I have found that men’s items are just made better! Find your conversion size in men’s shoes and you will be amazing at the leather quality in loafers, boots, and oxfords. I also find amazing men’s coats and blazers that are cashmere, silk, wool, and I even recently bought a vintage 100% camel hair silk lined men’s blazer for $2 at goodwill.
I’ve used the tip about how to know if a shirt will fit me for years. It’s a must for women with a large bust because a lot of tops don’t fit us. I had heard about the measuring a waistband around your neck, but have never used it. I think a better one is to place your forearm in the waist opening and that should fit you. So, it’s elbow to wrist.
Great tips especially the one about trying on a shirt. I've never heard of that one and will definitely use that one the next time I buy a blouse or shirt.
It is always great to learn new things and learning it in such a pleasant way is even more wonderful 😊your voice is so soothing and your present is really calming Thank You for sharing your tips and knowledge
Thank you for your advice. The guidelines are very helpful. I have a closet full of clothes and I have the tendency to say I have nothing to wear. So mix and match sounds like a great idea.❤
Audrey, what are your thoughts when pairing an older piece of clothing and a newer piece of clothing that are navy but different shades of maybe? Or different shades of red or a deep dark black and a bit washed out black? Thanks.
Very good and informative video! Love your button demonstration btw! That was so important I feel to show on here. For me, thrifting is how I mostly find my very high end designer pieces instead of spending hundreds on a designer item, I often just pay $2-$6! I think a woman either has a good eye or not for spotting high quality pieces and if not, then the thrifting process is daunting and rather stressful. I always recommend women study fashion magazines and study all the designer pieces shown in those ads.... because in time your eye becomes able to spot something that looks high quality and expensive, even if it's not. That is just something I have found helped me develop my eye when I was just a teenager. You have to study what expensive really looks like and you showed great examples in your video here.
Thank you for sharing all that you do! You really helped me shop my closet and start to focus more on my personal style. I’m so thankful I found your channel.

Same here. I live in Florida and am yearning for cooler, dryer weather!
@@janegeorge-john7272 Hi Jane, I
smiled when I read at what you
wrote. Like you say you hardly
need to wear a jersey in the
Caribbean. Here in Switzerland,
it is another story. We need to
have plently of socks, good
strong shoes, jerseys and jackets.
Our weather can change in a few
hours. But we are lucky having
four very different seasons.
HuMbLeBeE ----- me too!!! She recommended Audrey’s channel when she talked about capsule wardrobes and I’ve been here ever since❤️
Same for me! And I really love both of them
And me! x

Me: looks at the 4 pairs of shoes I've been wearing for the past 3 years
MsBlulucky 😂😂
Same! I have really wide feet and no money so finding shoes that fit that I can afford is impossible. :(
That's why I have one coat, one bag, one pair of boots, all black.
I’m a senior in college trying to upgrade and especially reduce my wardrobe to something a little more elegant/timeless. Your videos help me so much!
Thank you.
I just love her energy! ✨
She's so calm and always has the cutest, bubbly smile ever! :')
Same!!
I really do hope Alyssa and Audrey collaborate one day! It would be the video of dreams!
Yes!!!!
Katy Larson...I laughed out loud when I read this! You see I read your comment on Alyssa's last video. You did indeed tell her the same! I love them both too! : ) Bet I would love you too!
Busbee Style is another great UA-cam channel! Finding all three was like winning a trifecta!
Love Audrey! She has such a beautiful and soothing voice, and her presentations are always excellent. What a class act
I love the manner you speak Audrey,, along with your tone, not too formal, cool and calm. 🥰
jessica I am clearing out my closet and finding dozens (literally) of black skirts in a large range of sizes, shapes and lengths. ☺️
@@klcampy oh my god i can relate. i have like 3 or 4 navy polkadots thing, be it blouse, dress, and skirts. (well... black polkadots too)
with basic thing like black skirts i can let it slide cause i used them daily for office wear ☺
@Jessica, you can also pair black and navy in one outfit. It’s considered very “ Parisian”. Whatever its inspiration, these two colors can look fantastic together, in my opinion (IMO). Have a nice week. 🙂🌸
@@cUser691 I-ll try that, I thought it'd look horrible! But I did'mt want to get rid of my navy blue things cause I love them
You should take pictures of all your clothes and make a pdf or word document or something so you can know what you have!
This series is especially helpful to me - I am going through all my clothes to enable me to begin to build a capsule wardrobe. Thanks, Audrey!
The T-shirt and pants "hack" is so good! I've always done this because my mom teached me this. It works most of the time.
I learn more from your brief videos on developing personal style than I have from flipping through tons of fashion magazines. For those of us who want to look “pulled together” without spending too much time, you are a godsend. Grateful for each of your tips!
The trouser waistband around the neck to determine if they'll be the right waist size is an amazing tip! It's going to be so useful. Thank you!
That would never work for me. My neck is barely 10 inches all the way around, and my waist is like 28/29 inches... definitely wouldnt fit 😂
@@TheGreeneBead exactly! :)
I just carry a tiny, retracing tape measure in my purse. I like to thrift and shop vintage and it’s so much faster to just measure the item.
I love your positive, upbeat non judgment attitude. Thank you for your videos; they are such a help to me!
That's true, it happended to me with my hair
On the other hand, I once saw myself in a store window and wished I looked like that, then realized it was me! That doesn't happen to me very often!
I jotted down several tips and I am thoroughly excited to try them!!!
the buttons were a huge game changer. now everytime i shop i always use your tips as a guide!
I’m 57 and have learned so much for you in the short time I have found you
Thx!
Love your calm and quiet voice too - 😊
Gosh everything you say everything you wear and the tone of your voice brings a smile to my heart!
You're thoughtful fashion sense is very much appreciated.
thank you for mentioning patterns lining up at the seams. I sew and that's a real skill and a sign of quality for sure.

"Always be cultivating personal style over fashion."
Love it! Thank you
Love these tips, they are simple and true!
I must say though, generally you must be in shape for the pant around the neck tip. Too many people, even a little out of shape, have a waist larger than the circumference of their neck. This tip is not universal.
I thought the same especially for pear shape women this would definitely not apply.
True. If you have a potbelly this would not work.
Same for the shirt trick. If your belly is larger than your chest, that trick wont work either.
I think these fitting tips work best on people who have normal BMI.
You actually give true hacks for being presentable and pleasing to the eyes of the looker and to your eyes as well. Glad I found your channel.
Quirky elegance is what I’m going for 😉
your voice is so relaxing to listen to, and you've really helped me with how to dress recently!! i love your videos :)
I buy timeless styles in the second-hand market. I am picky about brands, but I found a great store that stocks St. John, Prada, Chanel, Gucci. That is fantastic way to shop for me!
Where do you buy from?
@@erikaelizabethlopez9212 In Houston, Designer Diva.
@Caiti M You are in for a treat! Great thrift and resale stores! Blu Bird Circle, The Guild Thrift, Junior Forum....great coach bags, I MEAN!!! Welcome to H-Town!
Audrey, when shopping,
how do you know if a simple t-shirt will not stretch in all directions when you wash it? Thank you for all the tips. 🙂
The tip to determine if a shirt fits you was very interesting, I never heard it before but I'm definitely trying it out, thanks!! Great video :)

My thoughts exactly. Thank you for expressing them so beautifully.
Great video. You have a talent for taking what seems to be complex and revealing its simplicity.
I love the fact she doesn't have "like" in each of her sentences.
I absolutely adore this navy blouse on you, Audrey. I am a new follower and am loving your advice and your gentle demeanor. Thank you for sharing.
I learned a lot from your tips on the dressing. I love your voice, so sweet and clear
I agree.
@Georgia Tucker very true! I've found some designer boots/shoes never worn new from Ebay at great prices!
That only works if you have already seen the original item in person to evaluate the fabric, finish and fit.
The thing with labels is that they're associated with status. Now everybody literally die for the trap. There's no concern with environment and labor issues, not to mention where one's throwing their time and energy at. The only thing that matters is being viewed and liked virtually, outside the gadgets no one cares. It's insanely sad.
Totally agree! You can see all these bloggers just kind of encouraging to do that! Pretty sad, indeed!
Jacqueline Natividade capitalism
I think it may be more consumerism, than capitalism, Vera. Although, they tend to go hand-in-hand (i.e., supply and demand).
Beverley. Xx
Omg the personal color palette tip was mind blowing for me!
Love your taste in clothes & the way you talk- so calming!
Hi Audrey, that neck trick for the pants is genius (and bizarre), but it's true!! Who'd a thunk?? Love your channel. Learning a lot. Thank you!!!!
Great points Audrey! You forgot to add the higher the quality the more generous in sizing.
I would love to watch your wellness routine. You look so beautiful and healthy.
Oh good one about the elbow-wrist...thx
Great tips especially the one about trying on a shirt. I've never heard of that one and will definitely use that one the next time I buy a blouse or shirt.
Wow you are just great ! Voice is so clear and its a joy to listen to you.
Thanks.
Sheri A this is why I find wearing navy hard. It rarely matches other navy pieces
SO true, Karen! I have so many Navy shirts and pants but none of them exactly match! LOL
Mind blowing tips for knowing if something might fit at 6:00. How does that even work? But it does! Thank you!!!
Great tip about the magazines
