never missed a show when I was a kid glued to the black and white after school....They brought the star to Australia and put on a show at the old Sydney Stadium . My dad took me and the intro was Shintaro entering on a flying fox and onto the stage... all corny now but big back then...
I loved this series when i was just a kid. never missed any of these series. Shintaro of course was my hero. Watching it in 2021. Still the greatest Samurai series.
this show made me a six years old kid again....golden era of japanese tv program and movies. I also love zatuchi the blind swordman , gigantor, kingkong, godzilla, gamera and watari...come to think of it i had a wonderful childhood...
This was my favourite TV show in the 1960s. Even though Japan was the enemy only 20 years earlier in the second world war, seeing this Japanese show on Australian TV did a lot to broaden our perspectives on other nationalities and cultures. Seeing it all these years later made me realise it was a bit corney, but nevertheless, Shintaro received a hero's welcome when he visited Oz back in the day.
hahaha, at 1:45 his enemy was not behind him when he thrust his sword backwards, then suddenly at 1:46 his enemy got stabbed by that very same move! But criticism aside, I loved the tv series as a child and we would play samurai games with the other kids in the neighborhood. Thanks for sharing the clip.
Nice to see Shintaro in ninja gear for a change. The camera work and special effects in this are so strange that you can't tell what's happening -- however once the Eagle announces to Shintaro that he is going to die, you know the Eagle is going to the great Koga ninja dojo in the sky very shortly.
not just a television series after more than half century ago Shintaro playing blind swordsman, senses used against Hiroshima and Nagasaki Prime Minister Shinzo Abe
television of yesteryears will never be the same again as of today ... for they put more emphasis on other things rather than important one which we value more in life ... ohayo gozaimasu ... a favourite series wherein black and white are the boob tube then and seldom family have this kind of furniture and there is only a certain time to watch courtesy of the kindness of the owner the house ... salamat bibili ka pa ice candy ke Aling Eleng parang sinehan sa Manuguit TONDO MANILA
I watched this as a kid too. Today it looks pretty corny. Ninjas are assassins and would easily have killed him from behind. But it was fun to watch in its day.

If I remember there were three groups of bad ninjas (one of which was the Kogo Ninjas), but Shintaro's side-kick Tombei led a group of good ninjas. I think the three series all ended the same way, with all the baddies being killed, and only Shintaro and Tombei surviving.
my favorite show when i was 10 y.o. im now senior citizen

Australia was the biggest fan of this show!
Outside of Japan.

I used to be excited by this show. 50 years ago of my life

Man, I used to love this show when I was a kid. Shintaro was one of my first heroes. Today it looks so cheaply made. I dunno what I was thinking!
You didn't see Zatoichi The Blind Swordman. It's in 1960's and it's masterfully made better than Shintaro the samurai.
me too,, rushed home after school to never miss it
Wah masih ada film. Shintaro ini get aku masih SD Shintaro lawan codet
Its freaking awesome
"Your magic boomerang flying cannot work at close quarters.' Damn!😎

Your magic boomerang flying won’t work ,,
The boomerang reference is interesting. No doubt a nod to the massive Australian fanbase at the time.
not just a television series after more than half century ago Shintaro playing blind swordsman, senses used against Hiroshima and Nagasaki Prime Minister Shinzo Abe
Sir Jeremy Paxman the story belongs to all of us
just reminding my childhood days a worry free one ... thanks and ohayo goizamasu
a long long tym ago, in a far away galaxy.... i used to watch this tv series.
I'm a 20-year old fan-girl of this show. Shintaro is so handsome.
Yes good looking man
Yes. Very handsome. I loved Shintaro when I used to watch it back in the 60's. He was my hero.

Clearly incorrect use of magic boomerang flying. What was he thinking?

Sure whatever
You knew when the bad guy had had it. When he declared, "Shintaro, you die" it was the end of the leader with the special power.
Shintaro lives
Great video, However, the episodes of this T.V. series have started to be deleted off of UA-cam now
Shintaro is My Hero

You had to be there.
So all the ninja are bad in this series? :-(
+Eiji Bayushi ..The Iga ninja were the good guys.
