Yes, but understand the reason why they filmed these scenes during the day - it's because the old black & white films make it very difficult if not impossible to see the action scenes of the movies. At night the Shinobi would do their best to avoid fighting or being spotted, but if they were then they'd have their tools & weapons just in case. Shinobi has many tools and were able to conceal & carry quite a bit while still using stealth and traveling. In modern military soldiers are trained to carry a lot, but yes minimalisation & versatility are key. That's why just one of a Shinobi's tools had multiple functions and could be used as a weapon as well. Shinobi were brilliant. 🥷
This is actually an authentic and perfect representation of how Ninja’s were. Scheming, plotting, using tricks, fighting dirty, using magic tricks to defeat or neutralize their opponent or target asap.
And all of that because their "noble" opponents were essentially gangbangers with swords that used their power to extort peasants living in abject poverty and the ninjas were constantly outnumbered and in a sketchy social position. They were probably the bravest and most resourceful people living in Japan at that time.
If i were that shinobi, after breaking off from that formation @2:31, i'd be dashing out of there! no need to test my fate from fighting those remaining 3 samurais who have nothing to lose.
@Evan Hodge It's a shinobi's job to stay alive after a succesful or failed mission. If the shinobi accidentaly dies in an encounter, all the information and items gathered by him will be lost. Honor in combat is just an illusion in Ninpo.

Да...фильмы по синоби в 80 - х годах по видеосалонам шли на ,ура,...хотя их было немного...совсем немного.Пацаны насмотревшись делали мечи ( сабли)..сюрикены ( звездочки)...нунтяки ( нунчаки)...Из палок и жести,а кто покруче и из стали...Но это быстро прошло...как и видеосалоны!😢😂
@@thatoneguy9291 I pratice ninjutsu, and that's not a grapling hook, actually it's only a rope. We use it to imobilize and desarm enemies sometimes. But yes, the principal obejctive it's protect our own life and mostly of the ocasions avoid the combat

Sword, caltrops, pulver, ninja-knife, this guy must have bought equipment-upgrade..... Killing samurais with a handful of throwing-stars? Waste of time and energy, more to carry around. Metal is not to throw away..... Ninja-stars dont kill immediatly. They rather poisen you, or they were thrown on your hand to drop a sword..... Using normal ways in the nature where you could meet people? Ya, explain them the costume.... besides the rope for the castle another rope for climbing down the wall? Is he a rope-dealer?.... btw: How do you get the rope over the wall? Bow & arrow or anchor? He really has the equipment-upgrade. Does it make any noise to throw an anchor over a rock-wall? Sure it does. Who fixes the rope? Auto-fix? The anchor does, right. How convienent nobody found the anchor.....
This is actually better than anything Hollywood has produced in 30 years!

One aspect people are forgetinng is there grappling and ability to climb difficult terrain. Manuevrabilty is very important in combat even today.
