    Can you cast dogfight 8000H with whatever that rod is, all day like 4 hours+? If you have to compare the size of dogfight 8000H to a modern Saltiga 2020, what size would that be? How many oz is dogfight after spool with 100lbs test?

    • @DixonsFishing
      @DixonsFishing  3 роки тому

      8000H size is comparable to a 20000H size in the 2020 saltiga, not sure on the weight but its not light. I've cast gear like that all day before and 150g lures and it hurts, you need to be pretty fit to be able to do it for long periods of time especially with poppers.

    3:07 Chris what model Yamaga(assuming it is) is your Taylor/salmon rod? Good run down a la Briggsy/brooksy style.

    • @DixonsFishing
      @DixonsFishing  4 роки тому +1

      its the Blue sniper 96ML pe2 rod. thanks, wasn't sure how people would respond to this but so far so good.

    I am interested in tasline looking for some braid for jewfish and kingfish. I do not have any expirience with it, is it thiner and stronger compared to most other lines?

    • @DixonsFishing
      @DixonsFishing  4 роки тому +1

      its a very nice casting braid and doesn't fray or loose a coating over tine like other braids and it holds up very well against rocks. its also very good value for money compared to other premium brands.

    • @gaming-grouper2459

      @@DixonsFishing thanks for the info as I get very annoyed when the coating of the line gets on the guides and reel

    You can really do everything with 2 reels one 5500 one big

    • @DixonsFishing
      @DixonsFishing  4 роки тому

      Not really. I would rather has gear suited to certain things so I can target more things. Can get away with most things with a couple of setups but deep jigging or ultra light require different things to most other gear.

    • @lachlanoneil8938
      @lachlanoneil8938 4 роки тому

      Dixon Brothers Fishing so far in my fishing career my 4500 pen spin fisher v has been able to do everything I want, from Redfin to jigging for sambos no problems and is all I will bring on a trip, I have many rods for that one reel, 40 lb ultra thin braid it can cast 10 g lures lmfao.

    • @DixonsFishing
      @DixonsFishing  4 роки тому

      Each to their own but not how we like to do things. I was casting 2g lures through to dropping 800g jigs. While you can get away with a few combos I would much rather a dedicated setup for each task. It makes it easier and in turn end up with more fish I believe.

      Dixon Brothers Fishing yep it is defiantly better if you have the money , but I do love my little reel, I rekn I’d have a crack at a decent get with it

    I don’t understand y all u Aussie guys fish off hand. Unless your left handed fishing with a right handed reel makes no sense to me. Y would u pump with your weak hand?
