Please Check Out My Website At: fansofthepast.com A How To video on how to remove single bearing vintage fan blades from Emerson vintage electric fans.
@@wiskeylizard1957Tricky part is finding a 1/4" Hardened bolt long enough. Most HDWR stores have gone conglomerate-affiliated, other way of putting that would be they no longer stock anything useful & have relinquished all control to a faceless giant w/no actual face. Anyway I serviced my grandF's '40 Emerson because the wires started shorting. Only thing I couldn't replace were the plastic washers/shims behind the motor. Don't know where to get something like that.
I have a Junior 2660-B I am fixing up. There is a side screw on the blade hub. When I remove the screw, there are no threads on the shaft. Is mine a pull off or a screw off then? Thanks!!
Thank you for this! I’m not sure if you still reply to comments, but I have a 29646 model and cannot get the blades to unscrew, even doing exactly as shown. Any suggestions?
The blade comes off the same as a 29646. The best thing to do is to check to see which side has the winding. You can use a bolt that is smaller then then the screw opening so that it will go thru without having to thread it. Put the bolt in carefully and if the bolt goes in a short distance and you hit something, that will be the stator and then use the other hole. As long as you don't try to force it in you should be ok.
Thank you, First time trying to re wire one and could not figure out how to get blade off
Glad it helped you.
Well I'll be darned , never would've known w/out your help. Appreciate the video
Thanks!

I used a 1/4 24 screw and it worked great. I would have struggled with figuring out how to remove the blade if not for videos like this.
I'm glad it helped you.
Thank You! You method of blade removal and re-installation worked perfect! Thanks for the video!
Nice old Emerson! I have the non- oscillating version Emerson Junior with Parker blades, from 1921, great fans!
Yes they are!
best vid around
Thanks Mr wiskeylizard 1957 worked for our 1926 Emerson Fan Model 29666

Very helpful
Glad I could help!
I cannot locate a hardened steel machine screw anywhere. Lowes & HD don't have these. Could they be named something else?
Try Ace hardware.
TY. TY. for the illuminating video!
Was this a sly piece of Emerson engineering to impede us amateurs?
It was way over engineered.

Some of them are harder then others.
Thanks!
Well I guess I screwed mine up. Damn me for not checking UA-cam first.
Where can you buy such a bolt?
At any hardware store. It should be around 3 inches long. Mine was specially made with the handle. you can use a hex head bolt.
Hey wiskeylizard, I've just acquired a 77646-SL. Safe to assume blade removal for it is just how this shows?
Yep, Just be careful.
What size was screw
10-24
In Việt Nam love
Is removing the blade off 79648-sd is the same or do I run into winding?

@@wiskeylizard1957 thank you very much, your video is also awesome. Appreciate your effort and dedication.
im assuming a 6250-d is different?
6250's are double bearing and have a set screw. This video are on the single bearing models.
Tried your method and the blade is not coming off. Any other suggestions?
The blade must be rusted on. That happens sometimes.
