Yep, I’m familiar with that tactic. I typically spray a bit of penetrating oil down the blade hub so it hits that weather seal when the blade is really stuck.
Zack, I hope you can help me out with some information. My wife just received an old Emerson passed down from her grandmother's estate. Thanks for this vid on how to remove the blades by the way. The fan is a 79646-AZ. What it is missing and I will have to have made it the oscillation pieces. It has the bar from the base running back, nothing else. If you have this model number a few diagrams of the pieces hand drawn is fine of sizes and locations of lock nut holes, screws, bolts, washers and things would be greatly appreciated. I can not find replacement pieces let alone any good photos of this area. Not sure if this fan had the ability to not oscillate, sure did not have it in the gear assembly behind the fan. As a kid she can not remember if it ever oscillated or not, or if the speed control worked. It has been rewired and they used a band-aid as elec. wire, so I know its been fixed once before. Was with her sister over the first and the joke was the fan cover and being told don't put your finger's in there, LOL desk top Cuisinart for sure! Again any help would be appreciated. My next project is a cabinet repair on the old Singer and cabinet she got, 1922, pretty good condition but cabinet needs some help. Machine is pristine.

@@Zackthefanman76 Not sure what your calling the arm, I have that piece. Its everything connected to the shaft coming down from the gears.
