The first proper ride on the Bonneville since getting back from Lithuania, and since its MOT.
We road straight in Constable Country without meaning to. This stunning area right on the Essex/Suffolk boarder is made famous by the painter John Constable, and it was very clear why.

I am a proud Scot who loves his country, however I do get annoyed with some of my fellow Scots who seem to think that there are no other beautiful places in Britain. The footage of you riding around the lanes and villages shows that not to be the case. Suffolk has some beautiful places and Flatford is just gorgeous. These videos are showing off England at her very best, keep them coming they're great to watch.

Good on you mate. Proud Englishman here, and I say that Scotland is the next best thing to paradise on Earth. Best scenery in the UK, best roads for 6 months of the year, and when it's too shite weather to either ride your motorbike or pound the hills in your walking boots, you have the greatest whisky in the world to keep you happy. Shit, even your sheep are better looking than the Welsh ones! (Are you reading this Ol' Man and Mr Darcy?)

@@eddyhoughton6542 cheers. I'm not a fan of the tartan and shortbread bunch, as for out whisky, you need to watch Al Murray on how the Scots have persuaded the rest of the world that floor cleaner is a premium brand. I hate the stuff, bad memories of being fifteen and drinking too much of it.
I ride all year round, I find Scotland at its best in the autumn though. Fantastic colours and still warm enough to put in big days out on the bike. We need to celebrate our shared heritage and respect our differences. There's nothing wrong either in being proud of where you're from. Too many people think patriotism is a dirty word, it's not, it's how we feel inside.
Not sure about the sheep though 😂😂

There is nothing like English country villages, and particularly the local village pub. Your videos make me homesick. Keep them coming Freddie.

I remember spending a few days at Flatford Mill as an undergraduate doing an Ecology course in 1987/88. Myself and 3 friends slept in the bit that sticks out where they lower the flour into the carts. We used to sneak down and raid the kitchen in the middle of the night. with a bad dose of the munchies. Happy Days.

Between 1982 and1992 I used to drive up to East Bergholt and Flatford Mill from Southend -on-Sea. I photographed a great deal of that area including ,as far as was possible the scene that was the Haywain. it had changed somewhat since Constables famous painting but the essence of the scene was till there as was other parts of the area.. The Northern part of Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk are very picturesque.... Since moving to Spain I lost most of the photographs however I still have a Black n white picture of the river with boats tied to a small dock/landing stage. ...thanks for the travelogue and a memory of long ago .

Hiya Freddie and Monica... lovey video as always. The thing that would have been good to mention is that Willy Lotts cottage is the house that Constable painted in his most famous work "The Hay Wain". Its possible to stand in the exact spot from where he would have stood painting it. When I stood there it send shivers up my spine. It sure is a beautiful part of the world and spent my school days around there at "The Royal Hospital School" in Holbrook.

As you mention the price hikes here have been astonishing with the lessons learned during the pandemic of giving value for money to get your custom to now a wholesale rip off culture led by the media and large corporations. If it hasn't been necessary in Europe or South America why here? I think it’s a mixture of people trying to recoup lost revenue from the lockdowns and a goods being more expensive since Brexit. Anyway…enough of the Politics 😂 . I really look forward to your videos…it’s a form of therapy and an escape that I really appreciate…thank you 👍👏

I can imagine Turkey is incredible value and I totally agree- it was a slight shock to see some UK prices. We’re definitely a bit more careful eating out now.
Have a brilliant bank hol weekend!🙂

Bloody hell Freddie, it took you long enough to get to Flatford Mill, it was my recommendation to go there when you visited The Royal Hospital School a few years back.
Constable actually painted The Hay Wain right where you were standing on that fishing platform.

Looks like you have a following among the homesick pom's in Oz, of which i am one. Your UK Vlogs keep me up to date with how things are in old Blighty. Always very entertaining, love your style of presentation and lets not forget Monika's excellent input and filming. P.S looks dryer where you are than on the Gold Coast at the moment.

Having nagged you about MoT failures last time I should now congratulate you on fixing the 'minors' - well done Freddie. Also thanks for showing this part of Constable country and his old house. Interesting headroom. Were they all 5'5"? Possibly the washing hanging up will be dry now.

Love the vlog Freddie and Monika. Beautiful part of the country. Our Year 8 pupils stay at Flatford Mill for their geography field trip. Amazing place to stay. Any plans to do a Norfolk/Norwich road trip? Amazing vegetarian and vegan restaurants in Norwich.

Great video Freddie! From California I always enjoy watching you two. You seem happy to be back in England. I have the same year Bonny as you and finding tires is difficult. Could you tell me what tires you are using, and are they the original size? They look wider in the video. Thanks for the really good videos.
