Darth Desec Accuracy can be seen in the position of the arms and feet, the height of the hands in relation to the head, the arrangement of the shoulders and head and if you look further you can see it according to the position of the legs .
When you train by yourself you face your shadow, shadow training, for it to be perfect, your movements should be in synch with your body. together with the speed of the movements, means that she is accurate in her gestures. I'm not surprised she's a x champion.

Guys, comparing the first two with the third one is unfair, the wado ryu guy is Hiroji Furazawa, an 8th dan legend and one of the greatest Wado Ryu master of all time. The Shotokan girl is Misako Aragaki, a world champion in JKA for the kata category, she may be one of the greatest person on earth that can do those sequences. The third one is just a random black belt owner.

There are many more differences, but let's try to give you arguments and examples.
      WADO-RYU
The one you can see in this video is Hiroji Fukazawa. This video footage seems to be from late 1990's or early 2000's. So he was filmed after having practised for almost 35-40 years.
He was a member of the original Wadokai until master Tatsuo Suzuki created the Wado Kokusai Karate-Do Renmei (Wado International Karate-Do Federation) and so he then joined him. He studied directly under Hironori Otsuka (Wado-ryu founder), under Tatsuo Suzuki, and with Hiroo Mochizuki in France. But as he has a bit derived from what was taught in Wado-ryu Renmei (created by Hironori Otsuka's son, Jiro Otsuka, aka Hironori Otsuka 2nd), he can't be considered as its best successor, due to many Mochizuki's Shotokan additions to his practice. Wado-ryu Renmei has been created to follow Otsuka family's path : Wado-ryu is not Karate, they call it "Jujutsu Kempo" (Hironori Otsuka was already the legitimate heir of Shindo Yoshin-ryu Jujutsu before beginning his Karate Practice).
      SHOTOKAN
This is a mid-grade competitor from JKA Shotokan (Misako Aragaki, 3rd Dan) who officially retired from competition in 2007, and who stopped being a JKA HQ instructor at the same date. She was a Kata competition expert. JKA actually teaches only modern Shotokan. This means it has almost nothing in common with Shotokan-ryu from Gichin Funakoshi. It has lost the meanings of every move, of every technique. JKA Shotokan is now a sport, not a martial art anymore. If you wish to know what is traditional Shotokan, you'll have to learn/watch Tsutomu Oshima or its followers.
      SHITO-RYU
This is a unknown low-grade of Shito-ryu. Shito-ryu's founder, Kenwa Mabuni, studied under the greatest Okinawan Karate practitioners from the 2 main Okinawan styles : Kanryo Higaonna (Naha-te) and Anko Itosu (Shuri-te/Shorin-ryu founder). Anko Itosu was one of the masters of Gichin Funakoshi (Shotokan founder). But Jion is a very old Kata from Tomari-te. Both Gichin Funakoshi and Kenwa Mabuni learnt it from Chotoku Kyan, who also studied under Anko Itosu, but more important : under Kosaku Matsumora, the heir of Tomari-te. Other Katas also come from Tomari-te : Jiin, Jitte, Niseishi, Sochin, Unshu, and a specific versions of Wanshu, Rohai, Chinto and Passai. There are already several versions from more recent schools ("styles" ?), but there is only 1 school left who teaches the original version of Jion. Kyudokan Kobayashi Shorin-ryu is the last school to teach Chatan Yara no Jion (Chatan Yara is considered as the very first master of "Okinawa-te").
There, we have a wrong demonstration, with many issues, and called modern competition "Shito-ryu". It has nothing in common with what was taught to Kenwa Mabuni, the Shito-ryu founder, and you will find many differences with what's in Mabuni's book "Karate Kempo : The art of self defense".
The differences go deeper than what you've quoted. Wado-ryu uses lots of "Nagashi", the softer parts of the arms, and focuses on piercings, like if you had a spear or a sword. Deflection is Wado-ryu's main goal. Traditional Shotokan-ryu is basically Shorin-ryu, and traditional Shito-ryu Katas are also Shorin-ryu Katas.
As Wado-ryu founder trained under Funakoshi, it should be very similar.
But as you want to compare this video editings, let's say they look very different due to their practitioner level, and due to the deviant practices. What you can see in this video are : Wado-ryu from WIKF, modern competition Shotokan from JKA, modern competition Shito-ryu. Nothing in common.

I am a 3rd Dan black belt in Wadō Ryu and the key difference between Wadō and Shōtōkan, which is not well depicted here, is that Wadō is based on body management which refers to body manipulation so as to move the defender as well as the attacker out of harm’s way. This can be achieved by moving along rather than moving against or harmony rather than physical strength. This is the essence of Wadō ryu in comparison to the more static, low stances and long attacks of Shōtōkan.

424dsfdsfdsfs I am not saying boxers can’t fight or not having great physique as a result of training, the same stands for Karatekas as well. But still, don’t compare a boxer to an experienced martial arts practitioner who uses his legs in various angles and heights with brutal force, as they are the stronger muscles of the human body. And don’t forget, a martial artist uses techniques, combinations were arms and legs engage, especially if he’s got well trained legs, he is unbeatable. You should know that the best kickboxers, all come from karate training background.

So essentially to have flow in combat you must know the individual pieces, when to use them, and how they are performed then link several together without hesitation or gaps between your kata.

The difference between Wado Ryu, Shotokan, and Shito Ryu...is that Shotokan practitioners have access to better camera crews.
But seriously though, Wado Ryu was developed as a hybrid of both karate and Jujutsu, and so many of the blocks and parries performed in the kata are done with the understanding that they could potentially transition into joint locks. 2:17 to 2:19 looks particularly grabby, at least to me. Shotokan emphasizes speed, stability and power, having been brought over to Japan during a very volatile period of time (the lead up to WWII), when people felt they needed something empowering. While presenting this "powerful" look, Shotokan emphasized the teaching of things like compassion, respect, how to be humble, etc., to try and counteract all that negative energy. Shito Ryu is pretty much a blend of these various aspects, being a blend of different styles of karate.

The difference I see is “Wado Ryu” style has power constantly. You can hear him breathing deeply. He’s getting tired.
“Shito Ryu” seems faster, and different stances from Deep to mid stances.
The “Shoto Kan” does Fast n slow. More dynamic. You can hear her power when she stomps down to give her more power. But doesn’t easily tired. Her style has the least kiai’s.

This is more down to how the individuals are performing the kata. Wado tends to value attack and defense equally, maintaining a balance and also making moves less fancy by cutting out all unnecessary parts to allow easier application in real scenarios. Shotokan attempts to be a lot more offensive and focuses on evasion when fighting as opposed to attacking same time in wado (attacking at the same time as defending) , their katas tend to look a lot fancier and are the nicest to watch: they win competitions. In general wado is more effective for real application and shotokan is more sporty. Never looked at shito ryu in detail so I can't comment on that.

trust me the girl in shotokan can look amazing, but half of their moves wouldn't do much cuz all she is focusing on is speed.

Your martial art is only going to be as quick as you trained for. And even so, there's only so many major differences between sistems, it really just is about preferences and history... and don't get me wrong, I'm a martial arts nerd and especially a karate nerd, I love studying different styles around many disciplines. That's why I consider that thinking that you can be more "powerful" because your style has lower stances or what ever is childish. No style is going to grant you magical powers, you are only going to be strong if you work hard for it. That's something the old karate masters knew. (Yes, it applies for "MmA iS tHe BeSt" too)

    Where's is kyokushin???

Filip Cieluch Not necessarily the best approach. It detracts from the real spirit and tradition of Karate. The real challenge is to apply kata movements in kumite. That is the essence. Personally I do not like kyokushin. Greetings.

The main Difference here is obviously the level of the person perfoming. If you would have Rika Usami performing Shito Ryu i guess most would have a different opinion on that style.

So not much difference then?Jokes aside, honestly i couldn't care less if there are slight differences in katas between styles.
More importantly to me is the differences in techniques, tactics, training methods and practical applications for self defence.

Shotokan is the most powerful Karate! If studied and practiced with dedication it is a formidable martial art for self defence but it is all down to the student and how dedicated they are to it, It must become a way of life not jtst something you do twice a week. It must become part of who you are and you will then over time cultivate and develop an indomitable Spirit!

Shito Ryu and Wado Ryu came from Shotokan. The founders of these styles were students of Gichin Funakoshi.

    • @joselopez-hr3iw
      @joselopez-hr3iw 4 роки тому

The difference is the dude is stronger than the women, therefore his karate is more effective.
