For some reason, when I told my older relatives that I got a crested gecko, their first response was, "A live one?" I mean, yes, why would I get a toy one? Isn't that weird? PS. I got a hanging coconut hide and my gecko loves it!
I got a hanging coconut for my crestie as well on amazon it was a Nitangel Coconut Bird Hide. My parents were surprised when I told them I wanted a crestie :)
Yes!! Yes!!! I totally agree with your vivarium sizes! Most people keep them in much smaller enclosures, about 40 cm tall, 25 cm wide, but I say at least 60cm tall! I like 90cm tall, 60 wide.
recent discoveries showed that the new caledonian wild geckos' stomach content is close to 50/50 when it comes to fruits and bugs ratio. also to note, they can be fine for short temperature spikes of +/- 5 F when accounting to their natural range of 70F - 80F, but not for extended periods so still keep an eye on that yours truly a canadian owner of 3 crested, and 1 rescue AFT
Thanks so much for the help!! I am getting a crested gecko in about a month. I had most of the basics down but you mentioned a few things I didn't know. Thanks!!
Hello, I just watched this video. I'm getting my 1st cresty next week. And this video is amazing and a huge help. Thank you so much. I now know where to go for great advice. 😊
Last video of the crested gecko playlist. Low key sad but just wanted to thank you for informing me about these beautiful creatures and all their wonders will hopefully be purchasing one soon thank you for it all‼️
Wow!!! You covered almost all of the basic care needs of crested geckos. This video looks to definitely be very reliable. Great video this should help a lot of people. Also, I’ve never seen a crested so crazy about a diet. I guess Lyra just really enjoys Pangea
YES! I'm getting a crestie for Christmas and I've been waiting for this video for ages! I know I can trust your info, but of course I've done other research, I'm not just gonna watch this vid😂
one of the best care videos i've seen so far! I love your setup! i was going to set up a 45x45x60 for mine, but after seeing your 60x45x60 i feel like i might need to get myself one of those instead. Love the additional space it gives for more plants and climbing space. You can really tell how much you love your animals, and they're living the life of royalty ;)
thank you so much for this vid, i'm getting a Crested Gecko hatchling in 4\5 weeks. I got to be honest, I knew nothing about them until now! This tutorial really helped me learn about the Crested Gecko and set up everything i need. I really hope the new arrivals love it! PS. i chose their names all ready :D Kiwi & Rango. I love it xD
Thank you for making this, it was really a great video. I really enjoyed this video, and overall, all of your videos. You do a great job at it, so keep up the good work.
Your video overall is very good and this isn't meant as meant to be negative just some corrections You can house a small gecko in a larger enclosure aslong as you have proper plant coverage and and offer multiple locations with for food that way they don't have trouble finding it, the second thing i wanted to say is you can house a male and female together i dont recommend it as it will lead to egg production and possibly exhaust the female from to much breeding but if you are experienced with them and know how to monitor the signs of possible aggression or if the female is being bred with to much it is possible to house them together. P.S. Congrats on 100k i do find you to have very good content and i hope your channel continues to grow.
Hi. I'm confused about feeding schedules for my crested gecko. I keep getting told different things! Could everyone please tell me their feeding schedules and what diet they use. Thanks.
I'm looking at getting the exo terra glass terrarium 18x18x24 that comes with the led light just wondering how long the lights should be on love the video very informative
You are the one that convinced me to get my first crestie, Leo(narda) almost a year ago. I love your videos and I thank you for going the extra mile while finding accurate information to put in your videos. Keep up the great work! (P.S. have you ever considered getting a ball python???)
Minty-Chan DIGI you do realise that the leopard gecko will get really stressed by this and will perform a lot of territorial movements which can really stress them out
GeckoCrazy 123 sometimes it can I did it my crested still has his tail so dose my leopard all I did was take my Leo out and he walked to my crested cage and just stared at him then walked away
Here’s a tip with gecko lighting: if you have an alarm clock, or something that offers a small amount of white light, face it towards the cage during the night, as it simulates moonlight
I got a baby crested gecko when it was 2 weeks old and I tamed him in 3 days!! If you buy a crested gecko and they are used to eating live food then they need it in their diet but if it is a baby or has never had live food then it isn’t necessary for a crested gecko to have live food.
the other night i walked into my room about 9 pm to my crestie on the floor of his container (repti-carpet). i have a ton of cork on the floor even though i knew he probably wouldn’t use it. i got really worried because i thought he was hurt/sick because they usually aren’t on the floor and he’s only about 2-3 months old. i left him alone and came back every 5 minutes and he’d be in a different spot. i then realized he appeared to be stalking something, so i figured he must be trying to hunt. my dad, a wildlife biologist, agreed. just to test if i was right i found a smallish cricket from outside and threw it in his enclosure. (there wasn’t actually any bugs in his enclosure, i had thought he was too young to eat them at that point) anyway, as soon as it crawled into the cork and vines on the ground he grabbed it and started chewing it. i was so happy and proud oml i felt like a mom who’s baby like are for the first time but yea. so i guess the lesson here is that if your gecko is on the floor it may not be because of him being sick/injured, but that he was hunting. (also just to be clear so no one thinks i’m neglecting him of food i fed him pangea a few hours before and put it in for him) sorry for the long paragraph, but if your crestie is on the floor he could be searching for insects or may be hungry
I wish i could house my crestie in a 18x18x24... I tried it for a few weeks but he hid the whole time and he didn‘t eat, all in all he was just not doing well. Now i got a 12x12x24 and he is doing great
I have a 2 month old crested gecko and have done everything I need before trying to handle him. I have now handled him everyday for 2 weeks and he still hates my hand. I’m not asking for any tips on taming or handling, I just want to know HOW to PICK UP these small geckos without freaking them out! thx
I love it when crested geckos lick their eyes! I just think it's so cute!
Sofia Torina like what the fuckk!!🥺🥺🥺

For some reason, when I told my older relatives that I got a crested gecko, their first response was, "A live one?" I mean, yes, why would I get a toy one? Isn't that weird? PS. I got a hanging coconut hide and my gecko loves it!
where did you buy your hanging hide i can never find them:)
Can I know where you got your coconut hide sense I’ve been looking for one for my Crestie and I’ve had a lot of trouble 😆
TheGlossyBoi's search up “crested gecko hanging hide” on amazon scroll down a lil bit and you will find a coconut one
Mona Faissal go to amazon and search up “crested gecko hanging hide” scroll down a bit and you’ll find it. 👌🏻
I got a hanging coconut for my crestie as well on amazon it was a Nitangel Coconut Bird Hide. My parents were surprised when I told them I wanted a crestie :)
My adult Marmalade LOVES to poop on me 🙄 she’s lucky she’s cute 😂
Question what age do they get large at
Mine is a small one and he/she is nearly 2
Nikki Folster next week can
I use to have a diamondback turtle. Every time I took him out he would poop... the poop is horrible to deal with.
TootToot BleetBleet.. same with my juvenile tri coloured harlequin her name is mushu and always poops on my hand or my sweater
I absolutely adore her videos they are so informative and I binge watch her channel even tho I have seen all of her videos
Wow... I never knew raising a crested gecko was so complex and sophisticated... I don't even think I should raise my own Pacman now that I observe
ProtopulsarGames I had a Pacman in a vivarium for years. She got big fat and lazy but loved nightcrawlers.
Its pretty simplel
This is seriously one of the more informative videos about crested gecko care! This UA-cam channel is really underrated.
*Me watching this for the 8th time, knowing I do all these things:* Oh man I hope I'm doing things right.

Me af with my juvie who has a fully bioactive viv and is a lil shyte cause he jumped from my shoulder to the floor (6ft)
The last part about the poop! 😂 so true!
I usually grab my gecko for about a minute, set him down and he’ll usually go then I’ll grab him again.
I love when crested geckos lick their eyes
Why do you have two of the same comment???
Lyra is such a chunky little gal 😍 love it!
You don't have to thank us, thank yourself for being a sweet person and making great and fun videos to watch.
Woo hoo love me some crested geckos! My two babies Spitfire and Marmalade say hello :)
That’s a chubby little gecko 😂
xKeiraa females are usually more rounded than male. It's just more to love 😄
Bubbdhalybiel I know, I have geckos of my own. And so true! Little bundles of joy
Onion Face fat shaming would imply we were being negative towards her. She's fat and we love her the way she is lol
Onion Face she slim thiccccc
Lol. My female gecko is even fatter! She’s not pregnant
Congratulations!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉 been watching you for over two years, and I plan to continue watching!

It’s helped me find a lot of needed info!!

I'm looking at getting the exo terra glass terrarium 18x18x24 that comes with the led light just wondering how long the lights should be on love the video very informative
Around the normal hours of sunlight you have that day, i typically do an hour less than that. Just male sure you turn it off when the sun goes down

hey since its a older video I don't know if you will respond but if I live in AZ then do I need a heat lamp for a crested gecko?
Omg I love you channel will you ever do a video showing your leopard gecko to crested through the glass
My Crested gecko is about 4-5 months and is still quite small. Is that normal? I’m worried that I’m somehow not giving him enough nutrients
So cute
I got my first crested gecko yesterday
3:39 is it just me or are there mites on that coconut hide ?
I'm pretty sure that's part of her bioactive cleanup crew. They're springtails which are very tiny.
Here’s a tip with gecko lighting: if you have an alarm clock, or something that offers a small amount of white light, face it towards the cage during the night, as it simulates moonlight
Hamster Haven Try not to do that because it can mess with there day/night cycle

She is so cute
I used to live in New Caledonia and I had a crested gecko loose in my room but he would leave in the day and come back at night
Can you do a video on the average price of owning a tank . Can you leave a link for the tank you use for lira
A average crested gecko setup is like 200-700$ I think it prolly depends if you have a dollar per gallon sale, probably morph, and etc
