One thing I learned about Bookbub in nearly 2 years of using it as they do spend your budget, unlike Amazon. So be careful not to budget too much until you have found the combination of ad copy, imagery, authors to follow, etc., that works best for you. Look forward to your next follow-up on this topic. Thank you!
Great tip! Thank you. Yes I have now been told to start with $5/day with them ... but I've gotten some other advice so when I try again (I didn't end up doing a 99 cent sale when I had planned) I am going to see if I can get it to work better. I'm told that I'm not the only non-fiction author that hasn't found it to be a smashing success though so at least it wasn't just me.
Happy Friday! What a perfect time for you to run this video. I really appreciate the five tips dealing with bookclub. I had watched one of Dale’s last night on this very topic of advertising and he discussed bookclub. Thank you.
I know Book Bub is trying to make their platform good for non-fiction but so far I am not sure it's going to work super well. Happy Friday! I'm just finishing a BookBub campaign for a fiction book. As opposed to your experience, I found the process far simpler than either Facebook or Amazon ads. My book was free on Kindle and I ran ads quite heavily for a week, using five different ads with mix and match author combos. To my surprise, some authors lists did _far_ better than others (some got a .02% ctr and one got between 4 and 45% (that's not a typo) depending which ads I paired them with. The one's that worked were seldom hugely popular authors. The sweet spot for me seems to be authors with between 4K and 20K followers. I still have testing to do, but found my Book Bub ads far more effective than any other platform to date (though it's still a pretty small sample size all round).
Oh boy, this sounds waayy out of my league as a newbie! If it’s cheap and potentially effective for my blend of a nonfiction/fiction book, I guess I should play with it but it sounds horribly daunting. Thanks for your honesty! ❤
Nice video Julie…. I want to ask you about the following issue that a got recently for submitting my book to amazon KDP. Before submitting my book to KDP, it was uploaded in Draft to Digital (D2D). Now in the review process, KDP wants me to show that my book is actually my book, because they see it in KDP system (obviously because it was uploaded from D2D print) otherwise they will suspend me after 5 days. I tried to explain that I use D2D and the book that they see in KDP is from me but from another platform. Their support simply does not listen and they do not reply to me, just pointing me to the link “Kindle Direct Publishing Terms and Conditions”. I do not know what to do?... they accuse me of violation of the copyright of my own book!!!
Sounds like you are doing what I would recommend which is contacting KDP Support. If you are a member of ALLi they may have the ability provide some support as well.
@@BookLaunchers Thanks for the reply. Indeed after 3-4 letters with the same content, they finally agree and now the book is published, they contact me and excuse themselves. But I have to write 3-4 times the same letter, I do not know why… Maybe it was just an automatic reply that I received previously repeating to check the rules of publications.
I have a few ads converting at acceptable CPR but tied to writers with small reader followers which makes sense since I don't have any followers yet. Now Im looking for more of those writers. Greg Ness
Let me know if you have more success with the ads than I did! I've heard many fiction authors saying great things about it ... non-fiction ... well, I'm not convinced yet but I'm not done trying either.
Hi! I enjoy your videos, thanks so much for creating them! Thing is... I am a fiction author. Are you ever planning on expanding into fiction or are you only a non-fiction gal? Thanks so much again. I do think some of this translates into fiction as well.
Never tried and probably wont try book bub ads, I dont think book bub is where my audience hangs out...but I'll keep trying for that book bub featured deal thing 😊

Hi Julie. Great Thunvbail!✔💯⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Thanks for the great insights on BoobBub. I just had to watch this (and many more Videos) since I'm trying to find ways to Market my Debut Non-Fictiin book for women🙈 You are definitely FUN to watch and can't imagine how your Audience Retention rate looks like.💕🥰💕🥰💕🥰💕❤❤

@@BookLaunchers I am about to start a 99-cent 2-year anniversary special and Bookbub will be used. I am non-fiction, so will share how it goes.

I setup my profile on Bookbub but have not promoted with ads. Good info.
Ha - if you do - let me know how it goes!

Fiction is so different on BookBub!! I am glad it went well.
Thank you for making this video! I knew Bookbub was a tough nut to crack, but I didn’t realize how intricate it is.
Your books might crush it there! A big part of my challenge is the lack of audience of the authors that were a good fit for me to target.

Honestly - if you aren't already doing Amazon ads, that is where i would start. Amazon is much simpler in many ways.

Hi there!
Hello there! Have you tried BookBub?
@@BookLaunchers No, I had a vague idea of what it was, but it didn't appeal to me. Your video helped clarify that it indeed was not for me, thanks!
i've never adverized. but probably ought to lol.
